Today I will be reacting to my favourite bass singer, Geoff Castellucci!! This man has a spectacular voice and is a huge inspiration for me.
Feel free to suggest things for me to react to in the comments!
Truely a hauntingly beautiful song...I am in awe of how talented Geoff is. This cover has brought me to tears more than once. Geoff brings such depth and sadness to this song. Great reaction.

Thank you so much!! I've been watching these guys for like 3 years now so I've seen pretty much all of their stuff (definitely going to be reacting to all their stuff going forwards though :) ), I have not seen anything from Dimash though so I could react to that for sure!

Thank you for an awesome reaction to Geoff. He does have a way of reaching deep down into your soul. Please do a reaction video to Geoff's cover of Sound Of Silence. He even shows his rock voice at the end. All voices you hear are Geoff's. Most of the time you will see his 3 or 4 clones he has singing with him. He is totally independen . Also please do a reaction video of Geoff's solo cover of Folsom Prison Blues originally by Johnny Cash. He rented out an entire decommissioned prison for this video. His wife Kathy was his only crew. She is also his production manager as well as for Voice Play. He is the bass singer in Voice Play. Also please do a reaction video to Voice Plays cover of Hell Fire from The Hunchback of Notre Dame Dream On originally by Aerosmith & Carry On Wayward Son originally by Kansas. Voice Plays covers will blow them out of the ball park. Voice Plays cover of the theme song Halo from the game Halo will amaze you. Please listen till the end of the credits for an important message about it. The composer of the music said that Voice Plays cover was the best ever. He was totally amazed by it.

It sounded like you're getting pretty close on the subharmonics! Well done! Keep at it; your speaking tone is gorgeous, and if you pursue any vocal training all that subharmonic practice will really pay off. And as far as Geoff- the man is a genius, truly, and so extraordinarily talented. This song was like a punch to the gut, but in the very best way possible. Haunting, heartwrenching... Geoff always nails a song's emotion.
I too stumbled over VoicePlay and Geoff because of a fated CZcams recommendation, lol. My love of The Nightmare Before Christmas really paid off there 😂

You can't go wrong with Geoff! Try his cover of Take Me Home Country Road, or Way Down... or any of his covers!
While others may sing lower Geoff said it's not about how low you can sing if it doesn't sound good. Geoffs low bass is so smooth & his transitions are just as smooth. Voice Play are known as The Theater Kids of Acapella. That's what sets them apart from any others.
I agree, even if other people can hit lower notes, Geoff's low notes are always my favourite.
@@JollyLegend there is just something intangible that I can't place my finger on about his voice.... there really is just something so unique, and magical about the tone of his voice across ALL of his range that just captures my attention no matter what. I love a wide range of music and artists, but even as good as they all are, I eventually get kind of bored listening to them and have to switch to something else for a while. The thing about Geoff (and VoicePlay) is that I never get bored. From one month to the next, you have NO idea what they're going to release next. They are constantly exploring new things and completely reimagining songs, even transforming songs that were "meh" or even actively disliked into instant favorites that get played on repeat. That's a rare talent, to be able to captivate an audience so much that they just can't get enough of your incredible music. I'm one of their Patrons, and even though I've watched a lot of behind the scenes videos and joined in on live chats where they talk about how they do things... but I am still constantly finding myself asking "how? how do they make something so crazy good?!" lol
This is my first time on the channel and was NOT expecting Geralt of Rivia when you began to speak but I LOVE your voice. That mixed with Geoff’s just damn near perfect singing completely melted my ears
Geoff makes everything better :) Nice reaction. Country Roads was the first one I saw of Geoff on his own but I'd previously seen him in VoicePlay, and the first one I saw of them was Tennessee Whisky, and it blew me away. I think I've now seen everything they've done. Have you see Geoff\s videos on How To Sing Low?

And post edit, Geoff's videos on how to sing low were one of the first I saw from him after seeing country roads or sixteen tons, and then I found voiceplay through him. For me I know all the techniques to sing low, but I have no singing background so I don't have the base fundamentals to apply them too, like my tuner app says the thing I did at 08:40 was an A#0 which is incredibly low but I don't think I could use it in a song like Geoff does just yet XD

Geoff is great! I can get deep, but it doesn't maintain actual musical quality. Not to mention how he can turn it around and go high in a heartbeat!

Such a lonely somber video. This one's lowest is F#1 and high A4 - all in chest voice. He does have some videos that are on How to Sing Really Low. My first CZcams music was Geoff's Monster Mash and now nearly 2.5 yrs I'm down the rabbit hole. Yes- I definitely enjoyed it. Try Hellfire (Hunchback of Notre Dame) done by VoicePlay.

We may have heard this song before but not the Geoff version. He really transforms the underlying feeling into something so mysterious here. (Don't shoot me for saying this, but the original was sortof boring to my ears.)
