Can you do a video on your bedtime routine and how you refresh your wash and go in the morning?
I use it with gel and I get the best results, soaking wet hair, small sections, leave in conditioner, gel & my denman brush are my holy grail. I might give mousse a try tho.
I use my Denman with gel on my TWA. I did my 2nd big chop in Jan 2020 and I use the Ouidad line for "tight curls". My routine goes like this:
1. After cleansing my hair on Saturday, I use my 360º Misting Bottle to get soaking wet hair,
2. Apply Ouidad Curl Quencher Hydrafusion Intense Curl Cream (wash day and Wednesday),
3. Apply Ouidad Moisture Lock Leave-in Conditioner (LIC),
4. I mix & apply a very small amount of Avocado, Jojoba, Sweet Almond, & Jamaican Black Castor oils (only on wash day),
5. Apply Ouidad Curl Quencher Moisturizing Styling Gel (this is a very thin/runny gel),
6. Mist hair again, section hair, use my Denman brush, air dry or diffuse,
7. Spray in morning w/DIY refresher (1/2 oz gel & LIC in 8.5 oz of distilled water) to lift smushed hair, & gently shake hair,
Once it grows out again, my hair is a little heavy after I put in product. I do the same 7 steps above. For a 8th step, I push my hair up from the ends to give the roots a little "scrunch" bounce to encourage the curl to form at root.
Edit: added the name of products and the fact that the Ouidad line is for "tight curls".
Use it with gel too, I use the denman brush with gel and it makes my curls super defined.

It works with gel too!!! Try extreme gel at WALMART or Target with your cream. It will work.
I use my denman with gel every week and it works super well
The Denman brush actually works better with gel. I get perfect hair from Sunday to next Sunday. Sunday is my wash day. As the week goes on your hair looks better and better. My hair is similar to yours.

Quick question! I have seen that brush comes in 9 rows and 7 rows....does that affect the end result? Is one better for a specific type of hair?
Ivelisse Sandel not 100% sure but if I had to guess, I would say the tighter the curl, the more rows you would need for the best definition! I used the 7 row brush in this video

Dee F my hair is kinkier. I use mousse as a topper over gel. I prefer botanical gels (uncle funky’s is my fav). I live in a very humid climate. Mousse helps protects my curls from frizz the humidity would create.

Theres a few reasons why your roots are not reacting to it- you can loosen up the brush, by removing some the bristles by breaking it apart.. I cant explain it, but it help because it becomes easier. Its heaven

daughterofzion Ysrayl true, but it’s no big deal. I only wear lashes, blush, and lipstick but if you wear anything more than that (only 2 or 3 things) you’re going to have a fairly dramatic difference 🤷🏾♀️
