  • Just a quick video on my Experience with the Holts Kit . There are several on the market, so Maybe This may help you decide which kit is best for you . My Lights were in a Horrible condition, probably worse than most would be due to neglect over a few years , Overall i was pretty impressed with the result of the Holts Kit .

Very helpful video. Volkswagen headlights are particularly prone to this misting /crazing. On the scirocco it is easier to take the headlight out so you can polish it evenly and avoid body damage

Neat video pal. They look fantastic. My headlights are in not too best of health. Just bought new bulbs and had bother with the projection of them. So I just bought this kit and hopefully it helps. Some nice tips in there too. Cheers 👍

Thanks for putting up your video, anything that can help folks get things done themselves is a productive and worthwhile thing.. I did want to add something, when using the sanding discs , it's a good idea to keep things wet, but when you're at the stage where you are using the polish, you do not need to soak the sponge.. You need to get it moist and damp to the touch, but do not soak it.. Reason why is you are basically diluting the product and hindering the efficacy of the polish , plus it will absolutely splatter you and the car good.. So, take about a nickel size drop or two and dab it on the light, smear it around some then have at it.. You don't need copious amounts to get results , just enough to get the job done.. The lights came out great , it definitely is a good feeling knowing you did it yourself..

Yes i think you are correct , best keep the water to a minimum when it gets to the Polishing stage as it did splatter a fair bit. I wet the sponge because i had done the other headlight the day before and it had dried out and become powdery, I think I had chosen the hottest day of the year to attempt it, I was worried it would be too abrassive, As with many things in life you learn as you go. thanks for your input .

Thanks for sharing most excellent video. Great to see process all the way through.
Also great tips on milk jug and trimming the velcro. I'll definitely try those on later stages (im still on stage 1 P800).
Ive seen some videos were they don't lift the bonnet which seems silly cause less masking and easier sanding that way.
A good tip from me... Check if you can easily slide your headlight forward by 4 or 5 mm and then re-tighten the fixing screws to hold it secure. On my audi tt mk2 (2010) this meant no need to mask paintwork and easier to sand.

If you cut an orange, it has to be a real orange, and put baking soda on the fresh cut side, you then rub it on the faded headlamp for about 2 minutes. Rinse it off. Presto, lights look like new again.

Great video..5mins in and i thought this lads brave doin it without masking up...😂least ye eventually remembered👍. Great tip by the way about trimming the velcro as i found mine to have the same problem with the paper being too small for the velcro. Used this last week with great results but the sealer was a bit disappointing. It looked great after buffing the sealer but a couple of days later it didnt look as clear. I think it would gave been much better if they had included a uv resistant clearcoat laquer spray instead of this sealer. Sound video lad👏

Thanks , Appreciate the comments, Yeah, what with trying to video it and talk about everything I got a little ahead of myself with the Tape haha. And yeah i see no reason you couldn't finish off with a UV stable clearcoat, Its cheap as a kit so I guess that would have upped the price a fair bit to include that in the Standard Kit. Over all, Works pretty well all things concidered. 👍
