Absolutely adore your videos and your commentary. I too love vintage. In my younger years I had 1930-40s sewing patterns. So made many dresses and other outfits from those years. As well, thrift shops had a much better selection of clothes from that era. You are an inspiration.
My favorite vintage buy? Basically 80% of my wardrobe. ;) Great video, thanks!

The prices you paid for your items is astonishing! You wouldn't even get cheaply made modern mens trousers in a charity shop for that price in Britain. Same regarding the coat- a coat like that here would be at least £100.
Nice to see a video from someone who loves vintage/classic, well made clothes of fine fabric. I've been buying 2nd hand/thrift/church bazaar items since I was a teenager and altering them to fit. It brings a lot of satisfaction, doesn't it, to do it yourself?
wow so many great pieces! Here in Czech republic it is almost impossible to find a good looking, quality vintage menswear.. I blame it on all of the Totalitarian regime
Není to lehké. Hlavně v klasických sekáčích jsou většinou věci celkem nekvalitní. Dá se něco sehnat, ale není to vůbec lehké. Například žádné kvalitní kalhoty ve vintage stylu, ani kabát jsem ve klasických sekáčích ještě v životě nesehnal. Sako sehnat aby aspoň nebylo z umělotiny, ale ze 100 procent přírodní materiál taky dlouho trvá, o vestách ani nemluvím. Doporučoval bych například tady v Praze obchod Scoro Coco. Kde paní má to má dražší než klasický obchod, ale je to asi jediný sekáč pánské klasické a vintage módy v celé ČR. A někdy tam má vážně poklady.

The keepers on braces are usually too high up when the braces are properly adjusted. They should be about mid-rib level. In vintage photos, that's where they land.

I want to find 1920's style shirts to wear during summer......and I live in Alabama USA where it gets very hot and humid! Any suggestions?
In Europe I would suggest Thomas Farthing (which should release their summer collection soon) and Pike Brothers, but I don't know if you can get those garments in the US.

Ja, gibt es alles. Die bekanntesten sind vermutlich die Boheme Sauvage als Partyreihe. Bei den Live Rollenspielen gibts keine feste Reihe, aber z.B. die Grotesque Absinthbar als regelmäßige Locations (da ist auch mein Intro entstanden).

Kann man eigentlich auch Militär-Kleidung der letzten beiden Jahrhunderte mit zivilen Looks paaren? Das wär zwar nicht wirklich chic, aber ich denke es war damals durchaus üblich, zumal der durchschnittliche Bürger vor 100-150 Jahren wohl kaum eine allzu große Garderobe hatte.
Die Herrenmode ist generell an vielen Stellen durch Militärkleidung beeinflusst. Es kommt aber immer auf die konkreten Kombinationen an. Paradeuniform auf der Straße und Feldbluse auf einem Ball halte ich für Quatsch. Paradeuniform beim Ball und Feldbluse auf der Straße klingt dagegen ganz passabel.
@@Vintagebursche Ich finde Feldblusen eigentlich auch recht straßentauglich, und das gute: man kann auch heute noch Schneideranfertigungen von alten Uniformen kaufen, also praktisch ein hundert Jahre altes Kleidungsstück, aber passgenau und neu, und dazu nicht einmal allzu teuer.
Ernsthaft: Kaschmir, Flanell, all die alten Sachen, gehen da nicht die Motten dran? Ne, wäre auch nix für mich.
I'd just like to say that Humana is really corrupt, research about the teachers group and other stuff and you'll find lots of corruption and a cult like organization! I used to go there often but now not anymore
