    "The Expendables" is a 2010 hard-hitting action/thriller movie about a group of mercenaries hired to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator. Once the mission begins, the men realize things aren’t quite as they appear, finding themselves caught in a dangerous web of deceit and betrayal. With their mission thwarted and an innocent life in danger, the men struggle with an even tougher challenge one that threatens to destroy this band of brothers. Master knife maker Gil Hibben designed this bowie for 2010 Expendables movie. This cutlery masterpiece offers a stabilized synthetic ivory handle accented by the gold-plated blade catcher and guard which are reminiscent of the styling of original bowies. Expendables artwork is featured on the handle and the gold-plated guard offers cast star designs on both ends. The classic 14" blade is constructed from polished stainless steel. Included is a custom leather sheath with Hibben Knives logo.

    14” blade?! That’s not a Bowie Knife, that’s a damn sword!

    To all those that are hating on the quality of the knife.....what did you expect? , it a replica made for decorating or collecting. They never said it was a fully functional knife. Smh

      They literally chop a log in half in this video
      Implying it is fully functional.

      It has been "functional" for me for years.
      The rode to figuring that out is lined with plastic bottles and peeled tree bark.

    It's really not worth the money. It's just a pretty wall hanger that doesn't even have a full tang, the handle is a synthetic ivory that will fail if used like a knife. If you just want a Big cool looking knife that was in a movie then it's a decent buy. I honestly don't see how Hibben allows such knifes to exist with his name on it though.

    I have one and these are collectible movie memorabilia, they aren't intended for any real use. You would be crazy to go out chopping wood with it and scratching it up. I have the Rambo Bowies also and they are in pristine condition because they are enjoyed as art pieces not utility knives. I have cheaper Mora knives from Sweden for cutting and General use.

    Thanks United Cutlery, yesterday I received my BOWIE KNIFE from THE EXPENDABLES and the knife its very very nice and very very big also like a machete but is better because of that the knife has function of knife looks good for example of haunting is very good to flay and animal no matter if its big or small and very good of combat because like its very big it wil cut very well a leg, an arm or almost a head and of machete because its very big and sharp so it will cut very well plants or a branch of a tree so its very good use it to walk deep into the forest or into the jungle, and its made of a very good material all the knife, the handle, the handguard. And almost the shealth of the knife is made by leather thats is the better material to do a knife shealth because conserve the knive and theres no problem to broke the shealth and almost looks very atractive.

    It's a pity to learn that this is not a full handle knife. Why can't we make it better? Even if the price rises

    Strangely thin handle. I wonder what's inside. I'm also wondering how durable blade is on the connection with handle. Judging by it's look I wouldn't give 5$ for it in terms of quality. It looks cool though.

    First thing here is that it doesn't seem to be a full tang blade. In the words of Will Keith aka: bbillyk , "If it isn't Full Tang, it's useless"
    Second thing is, it's a stainlrss steel knife. If it were a serious blade it would be 1060 carbon steel or better.
    At $100 , it would make more sense to buy an Olean, NY Kbar.

      @beckerqueiroz Před 4 lety

      You're quite wrong about the full tang, but I agree this doesn't look serious at all.

    tang only goes half way into the handle , metal the guard is made from is a tad on the soft side , easily damaged , and the handle will only take so much before loosening up ! but ! the blade is actually pretty damned nice ! to be honest it`s a 30 dollar knife at best , would be worth the asking price if it had a full length tang , and a real brass guard !
