In this video I make 4 hardware bags on the sewing machine!! The fabric is left over from the jeans we made this year! The denim and the brown waxed canvas is made with Cordura technology!
My rope splices are trash.. I was under the gun 😅
Thank you for the love and support ! - Zábava

Might be a good question to ask if they cover someone if they die from the shot?
I don't even wanna think of a world without Jimmy DiResta in it! 😄
Now this is a grass roots diresta style project... Simple but rugged and just speaks to you.. Simplicity and over kill in one package I love it..
Using the ice pick as a pivot for sewing is pretty cool!
They're like mini 'lineman' buckets. Awesome
You should do a rope tips video, and definitely include how you braided in the loop at the ends of the handles
The rope work in not that impressive. Recommend "Marlinespike Seamanship" by H. G. Smith for all kinds of plain and fancy ropework.
It’s called splicing. Not that hard to do.
It is never too late for learning new ways to draw and sew a circle...this is my first time watching this technique...❤️❤️❤️
The Boy Scout in me really enjoyed seeing that eye splice. Well done, they look great.
The place looks amazing. I almost didn't see the canoe. My grandma had a Juki. I miss hearing the hum of that machine on the weekends.
One could reuse the legs from jeans, and just upcycle them.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
And create some sweet Daisy Dukes at the same time.
@@joejoe8472 oh yeah.
True!
@@joejoe8472 do we really wanna see Jimmy legs?
Mmmm🤔🤔🤔
I had NO idea, coir rope can be tied like that... I’m trying that right away!
So grateful for the knowledge from Jimmy! 🙏🏻
Showed this to my mum who is a retired seamstress - she thinks you’re a “very creative genius”
I’m inclined to agree. Superb video filled with very clever problem solving. Thank you for sharing as always
My god, using a fixed point and the pressure foot on the juki to see in a circle... Just simple and brilliant!
🙌🏼🙏🏼
Welcome to "Homecrafts & Sewing 101" class with Jimmy DiResta! Nice work JD....👍👍👏👏
That pole barn has a heating system in the floor under the concrete. BADASS!!
Shop looks amazing, everything you've done is so inspiring. God bless you and all your work.
That was some nice splicing at the end there, Jimmy. Another hitherto unseen talent.
Jimmy, your new shop looks great, the lighting is perfect! Thanks! 👍👍👍
Even at quick speed I learned so much, maybe it is the barn that was recharged with a huge dose of inspiration?! The place looks stellar!
DIRESTA WORKSHOP: A modern cathedral dedicated to creativity and craftsmanship.
I meant every word. Keep up the EXEMPLARY work.
When he opened that door I think I got a semi. Lol
I always thought if it as "The Maker Temple".
Holy shit!
I have been struggling with sewing decent circles for years, and POOF! I learn how to do it watching a DIRESTA video!
Amazing work! You imagination and wits are as vaste as the universe! 👏👏👏👏👏👍🏻
my god the shop looks great inside now with the walls sheathed nice one
Great bags, a good use of some leftovers from your clothing line no doubt. Smart. Thanks
Kids i work with ask me: is there anything you can't or dont know how to do, well, i ask DIRESTA the same. Just a pleasure to see everything you do. A real pleasure.
1:37 I love your new workshop! Beautiful job. Greetings from Buenos Aires!
They look terrific. Great job.
Beautiful job Jimmy 👏👏👏💪👍
Jimmy,
I am so happy to see you exploring the world of industrial sewing.
Completely impressed. Loved how you jumped on the eye splicing without missing a beat.
Always something interesting! Thumbs up and thanks for posting.
OUTSTANDING! Thanks for another creative video.😎😎😎😎
So much craftsmanship in such a simple item...Jimmy never fails to impress.
black barn is looking awesome these days! thanks for another good one!
Jimmy with an eye splice for the win! Nice job. These look like they will be around in 50 years.
Always blown away at how many skills are in your head! I learned how to sew a cylinder seam by bunching it up and through today.
They look great!!! Love the sewing videos!
This one was a fun watch for me. My dad was a upholsterer for Sealink/British Rail back in the 70's and he made me a duffle bag to use for school, and watching you use some of the same methods (and the same size scissors lol) took me right back to a being a 6yr old watching with his dad with awe
Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
True craftsman 🙌 beautiful job
Lovely idea reminding me of leather buckets of yester-year, but these are so flexible with applications from women's handbags through fasteners to almost anything. Thanks for sharing!
Those look fabulous. I love them.
I always find it very interesting to watch Jimmy's work flow on these small production runs. A lot to be learned here from a gent who has mastered the art of the small production run.
Video starts at 1:30
As always great work!
Can’t believe watching Jimmy sow cloth buckets is so interesting. Nice work as always. Mad skills.
Freakin awesome lookin bags, you have an endless talent my friend..
Thanks for keeping me inspired.
Man! You never cease to amaze me with your ingenious ways of doing things. That circle trick I am going to use for sure.
I still learn something new with every video. I may just make some of these myself, thanks Jimmy!
That sewing machine! Freaking. Awesome.
Such a cute idea. I really like the look of it. It’s classy.
What wonderful looking bags you have there
Great circle sawing thcniq , love it !
You are amazing worker anything is possible for you,and really I’m happy to watch your videos
The barn is looking amazing!
Wow! Nice job on the shop!!
Thats a great idea. Oh and I love the shop.
My gosh that high pitched buzz.....
Cool project
Beautiful shop Jimmy
I love the textile/leatherworking stuff! Great looking bags, JD
🤘
Those are nice as heck man great job 👏 👍
as always a joy to watch your videos :D you are an inspiration to watch :D especially love the great tricks you teach, Like using the icepick with a sewing-machine!
I've been debating getting an icepick. I know how versatile it is but my mindset was only considering shop uses. Seeing you use it in sewing just made me broaden my mindset and I'm definitely getting an icepick! Thanks!
Great project. i learned to splice in my pipefitter apprenticeship rigging class, back in the 80's. it's a great way to finish and it will wow some folks too
The barn is really looking good!
Hermoso trabajo Jimmy!!
Jimmy you are a wizard my man I was trying to workout for ages how you was going to complete the cylinder. Crisp. 👌
The shop looks awesome
Thank you policy genius for believing in Diresta! Shop is looking good!
So cool jimmy!
Finally maybe I have a tip for you: when you are beginning or ending a stitch, you should reverse the beginning and ending so that it has extra stitches. They will be less likely to ravel or come undone in the future.
This workshop is a dream coming true, I mean, who else need a forklift parked in one corner just in case you might need to replace a lamp?! 😅😅
That shop is looking amazing buddy!
Very useful build. I like it. I will say the constant ringing throughout the video reminded me of my tinnitus. I had to pause the video to make sure it wasn’t me.
Excellents DiResta Ditty Bags for Hardware, respect from Venezuela💯💯💯🙏🙏🤘🤘🤘🤘👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯
holy crap wtf is that ringing the entire time? It's like my tinnitus has tinnitus.
Had to watch it on mute myself, and that's the worst way to watch his videos. :-/
I had to pause it to make sure it wasn't actually something in my house making the noise
@@Cactuar76 lol I did that like 4 times. I think he's gaslighting us.
I love how easily you can eyeball anything, my man
This was like drinking from the fire hose! A ton of awesome information. But... I missed the last step of branding the bags with the iconic DIRESTA logo! Thanks for the education! 🙏
Amazing as always, sir.
Also, I'm not one to complain but whatever is making that high-pitched squeal in the background has gotta go man!
No kidding! I thought it was a smoke alarm going off somewhere in our housing complex. RIP headphones users.
I had to watch on mute. Still gave the video a like though.
Agree, that was a little annoying. Thought I was developing tinnitus.
I almost thought it was tinnitus! Thank you for commenting so those of us around loud machines all day know we aren't just losing our hearing.
@@bkm8707 haha, I was on a rattly bus on a dirt road so I wasn't sure either, had to keep taking my headphones off to make sure.
Great video and build. Mahalo for sharing! : )
A plywood bottom to those bags would make them more stable. As it is, the cloth bottom bulges under the weight of the hardware making an uneven surface to rest on.
Otherwise, dang good idea and well executed.
Agreed. Also, I think some kind of crimped connector on the rope connection would be nice not only for durability but also to fit the Diresta “made to last” aesthetic
@@tjvhigh09 He weaved the rope loops into the braid.. It will last longer than any crimp connector ever would.
It would be SO cool if you could find a way to put the Diresta "stained glass" windows above the door to the shop... Man that place is awesome!
I believe that's the plan!
You will never be disappointed with a Jimmy DiResta video, although I got a bit seasick watching him weave that rope back together. Nice work.
Thank you !
Btw that Juki is rockin 👍
Splicing the rope handles is the extra level of perfection
For a bloke who makes some pretty cool stuff, you chose the most complicated way to make a bag 😳
Jimmy of all trades, master of Jack.
after a hard day at the office - there's nothing like a brand new episode :D
Hauling fasteners seems like a great durability test of Cordura. And those bags are looking tough!👍
P.S. Your "trash" rope splicing is still miles better than many of our best attempts. 😅
JIMMY YOUR SKILL SHARE IS OUTSTANDING THANKS FOR THE IDEA S 💡 .
Love the consistency in the freehand, great craftsmanship!....Obviously, Jimmy uses Robertson screws now, like a true craftsman!
Great work men...
Good job Jimmy
Jimmy Diresta Bags For Hardware... Has to have a good sponsor!
LE: NICE bags!
OMG, what a cute crossbody handbag that would be!!! Of course, a longer strap...
That's some mad sewing skils man!
It is always fascinating how fast he learns.
great lighting
I watched this in 0.5 speed because being convinced by drunk diresta to get insurance is priceless
Hola Jimmy! Creo que ya te lo comenté, pero realmente eres bueno en todas las tareas que encaras. Felicitaciones! Abrazo!!
Germán, Montevideo, Uruguay.
That closure stitch was nice, I was thinking how the hell is he gonna...oooooooh. Nicely done.
Cool video bro! Really like your content!Greetings from Germany
