- In this video, I am crappie fishing a stunning waterfall in East Texas and it is loaded with crappie. It is almost a crappie on every cast. I am using a very simple crappie fishing setup. I am crappie fishing with a jig using my 6' ACC Crappie Stix. I love me some spring kayak crappie fishing without using any type of electronics. You know Caleb I think I’ve only seen a Mohawk on the black crappie let me know if you’ve seen it on a white crappie loved the video keep them comming

Great video . I'd love to find a spot like that. So I have a question about depth control. How do you keep your jig in the depth zone you want wien not using a bobber?
I either just slow reel or let the jig go to bottom and pop off the bottom. I do explain this in the video. Slow reel technique first, then I started to be more successful with popping jig off the bottom.

Post spawn. These crappie have just finished spawning. They get these scars from protecting beds from predator fish.
