  • Today on DIYWILLY, I will jet the NIBBI carburetor (PE24FL) to get rid of the flat spot while accelerating. I end up with a #52 pilot jet and a #125 main jet combination that seems to work best for MAX my HEMI 224cc Mega Moto Minibike with the long intake runner.
    So follow along as we continue to improve and build the HEMI 224 MAX Performance Mega Moto Minibike.

    Lol that's one of the things I was most impressed with too is the slide. The slides in the Nibbi is awesome. I went through 3 different carburetors and finally bit the bullet on a PE28MMFL and boy am I glad i did. With the Nibbi my Rhino started right up first crank. I grinned from ear to ear after fighting with the previous 3 cheapos for days. The throttle response is insane. I know I won't buy another brand of carburetor again. Rock on Nibbi

    Great video! Thanks for showing us the inside of the Nibbi! They must list the bore of the pilot jet in metric rather than thousandths of an inch. I bet a Nibbi 52 pilot jet size is a 0.52mm. That would make a 0.52mm ID of .020 inch on the pilot jet, if so it may need a little more at sea level. The engine sounds really great now though, there's no backfire on deceleration at all that I noticed in the clips. I can't get over the quality of the machining in that Nibbi carb. Very nice! It's easy to see where the extra money goes for these. Some of the cheap China VM and PZ carbs I have look like they were finished inside with a die grinder. Not the Nibbi! High quality machine work there and polished. Thanks again for giving us a look inside. I think this is the first video I've seen where someone takes the time to open up a Nibbi so we can have a look. Awesome! I want one. Great stuff DIY Willy!

    • @DIYWilly
      @DIYWilly  Před rokem +3

      Yes they really are nice carbs. The machine work is quality. I was think I needed less than the 52 but maybe you right I can try the next jet size and see how it does. I was hoping I showed up enough of the carb. After I watched the edited video I wish I would of showed more some how. I run a vm22 on my 212 and I think this NIBBI was easier to get to run right. I’ll be buying another for my next 212 build and I glad I decided to put this one on the 224.

      Noticed you guys running these carbs, they look like an exact copy of a real PE24mm carb and run the same jets too. Currently I have a 40 pilot and a 140 main in the PE24 on a tillotson 212r build. Plug still looks new not sooty at all. Air screw is only half turn out tho. So I am thinking I might need more pilot or move the needle up since I get a little bog from idle to wide open every once and a while. What do you guys think? I've never ran a carb before with a larger pilot than the main jet very interesting jetting these engines. I'm used to jetting these carbs on pit bikes, these little motor's if you let them, they will Gobble fuel at wide open.

    • @DIYWilly

      Hello Sam, Yes the nearly ran over the hat. Those jets I used were still too rich but it ran fine. I found those NIBBI’s to be sensitive to dirt. Mine would act up often. I will down size it some and adjust the needle.

      Hello Alfiehall, Which red thing are you referring too? Is it on the carb or engine? In the video at 24:06, it shows the carb, engine intake and fuel cut off on the gas line. On the carb the red on top is the carb cap we’re the cable goes. On the engine there is the red intake manifold for the carb and on the frame below the seat is the fuel shut off valve. Those are the only things I can think your referring too. Let me know! Thanks for watching!!!
