Hi dear fellow Musicians :) This playlist is a collection of NewJazz lessons that all show different approaches on how to play and improvise over the very same chord progression as used in the lesson above (a standard sequence of fifths in Emi): czcams.com/play/PLd8gNAxPUcJzqwqL21s9NExEKpk14bglb.html

My little secret. Reversal of what I did 20 years ago. Every instruction that you qualify as simple, boring or unmusical, I take those to music shed ,for indepth study, before tackling the main core of the instructions at hand. I find this a very rewarding way of studying music. Please consider this pedagogical approach. Thanks again . Hilary from Aruba.

But I switched to the vibes and discovered you were lessons at the same time, and I feel I was given the blessing from the heavens! Your lessons apply beautifully to their instrument. I will keep you posted as I progress through your non-sequential lessons mostly sequentially (just so I don't miss any). I would encourage other budding jazz musicians who play instruments other than the piano to go through these lessons as well. Your emphasis on improvisation applies beautifully to the solo instruments as well as the piano. Thank you again so much again!

this is sick! one can go from from ground zero to somewhat improvising piano student just within one lesson. just practice this over and over again... omg. but as always and the most important: thanks for the inspiration and keeping the spirit up. you are sharing these positive vibrations with us.

Wonderful! That tip about starting the arpeggios not necessarily at the start of the bar for each chord was very useful! It creates a bit of tension and it sounds less robotic! I love your teaching style so much! Keep the good work! Thank you! 👏👍🙏

a year ago, I bought a saxophone, and I tried my best to learn all those wonderful rhtythms and concepts. I have been always into improving, but I couldn't make it so far with very good fundations such as the cicle of the 5th and so on. Now It has been only 1 week since I bought a keyboard, I started learning and understanding so many concepts, and I am ready to apply them on saxophone too. your video is amazing and simple, but very very great for someone who wanrts to understand music, not only sray on cover music level.
