    Just goes to show there is a DRASTIC difference in dyno readings. Dynojet is the go to manufacturer here in the US, absolutely NO WAY you're going to get 180whp out of an mt10. That's absolute bull-💩! I have a healthy mt10 with R1 titanium headers, Yoshi decat/exhaust system and a ecu tune (flash) and we got 154whp. Someone is extremely optimistic😆😅🤣😂

    • @Brookmanrider
      @Brookmanrider  Před 5 měsíci

      It's not wheel HP I'm talking. It's at the crank so when most manufacturers do the specifications It's the crank hp not at thr wheels so yeah 180 at the crank not wheels mate. Thanks

    So it sounds like you have close to 150 to the rear wheel. I had mine tuned at 159.2 to the rear wheel witch is normal. Most dynos especially dynos in Australia read at the rear wheel.

    Polarizing looks for sure but I actually think it looks super cool, compact and mean. I think the Aprilia's and other Italian bikes all kind of look the same. The MT10 is unique. The Super Duke looks odd too but cool in its own way. I actually prefer the looks of the new Triumph Speed Triple RS the best because it is under stated and classy.

    I wonder what percentage of motorcycle riders who get exhausts and tunes and use power commanders or whatever actually understand the difference between crank and wheel horsepower. manufacturers always advertise crank horsepower because they're talking about what the engine produces. friction and heat heat up some of that power and what's left is transferred to the wheels. Dinos measure horsepower at the wheels. they have no way of knowing the horsepower at the crank so rather than estimating crank horsepower, they just give accurate readings at the wheel depending on the calibration of the machine and atmospheric conditions and a few other little things. with that being said, this bike will get somewhere in the 130s at the wheel but it's advertised in the mid-160s on the Yamaha website. getting an exhaust and a tuned can bring this reliably up to the 149 154 horsepower range at the wheels depending on the dyno and the bike, add about 10% to 15% to the wheel horsepower to give an estimate of what the engine is putting out. it wouldn't be unreasonable to say this bike has over 170 maybe 175, maybe a little bit more at the crank. but honestly who knows. each bike is different, atmospheric conditions are different, some tunes are more aggressive than others. it's a really really really fast bike. I know I have one 🙂

    I'd lane filter 24/7 if I had a decent roadbike and it's not even to get in front of everyone it's so I get out of everyones way and I have cars around me to protect me rather than having the possibility of getting rearended and or killed.

      @@Brookmanrider we in Australia have the fazer line, fz line, and the mt line. Yamaha changed them when they changed the bike completely. Hence why the FZ1 is a screemer R1 engine then it was completely remade in the MT10.
      The US is back wards and don't like change in a lot of things. No offence. They should have called it a mt from the start but they were worried that it wouldn't sell with a new name.
