I've yet to see a content creator be specific about the Avatars of Spite. They are suicide bombers. Once they reach Zoja they explode and damage her. They are the Nr 1 Priority for the island team to kill. They come at Zoja from 3 directions. And do so in a predictable, counterclockwise pattern. The other mobs barely damage Zoja and are there more for orb drops.
I went over the avatars in this video, are you saying you would have prefered I went more in depth with them? Because for this vid my goal was only to give the information that is absolutely nessecary in order to jump into your first convergence as consicely as possible. I tried to avoid a lot of detailed mechanic explanations and just give the foundational information you need to suceed :)

The 2g is from the daily bonus chest, same as the chance of getting a Supreme Rune of Holding that the video mentioned.

I always felt like Convergence isn't that good if your goal is to make gold fast since it's rather long going if team isn't really coordinating. Do you have any insights of the amount of gold per hour one could make here?
its rather difficult to get a solid gold per hour figure because theres a lot of different factors that go into it, like you said sometimes they can take a while if you get into an unorganised public instance, there are different achievements that give you extra loot only sometimes, and so on. from the bit of research ive done, fast farming reckons just shy of 14 gold per convergence, some numbers ive seen as high as as 27 gold which is pretty crazy im not sure how achievable that is. seems like they take roughly 25mins to complete so even if we go by the 14g figure thats hitting around the 30gph mark which is very competitive.
also just a side note for some reason ive been seeing a lot of ppl thinking it is not profitable to craft motivations and sell them for some reason. the numbers are always changing but as of now they definitely are profitable, just need to get your research notes cheap and remember to take out the cost of your research notes from your profit as sites like gw2efficiency dont seem to calculate that
Even if it takes a while I still think it's worth doing, it's not the best gold per hour, but the 2 gold you get is raw and doesn't require any time investment to process mats for more value. It's an easy way to get the essences that you don't have to farm rifts if you want the new legendary armor. And lastly I think it's on of the best ways to earn experience for the new masteries and get spirit shard for either material promotion or legendary crafting. The other metas require much more involvement/non-brain dead play for the experience gain.

I still haven't found a good active Aussie guild yet 😂 I'm in Hardstuck for like event organizing when I run meta trains n such, and my main community guild is jetpack ninja dinosaurs. even though they are opposite timezones, theyre still quite active and helpful. they helped me so much when I was newer
Failing these after 20+ minutes because people won't heal Zojja or break the defiance bar is the most frustrating thing. Public groups teach me new lows for human stupidity everyday.

Just share basic instructions at the beginning. People just might not know...I didnt my first time, I just learnt.
Truth be told i find convergences only useful for collecting materials for the open world armor
For anybody else its besides doing it from time to time pretty much useless content (just my opinion ^^)
Now I'll share my opinion, maybe my point of view helps yours. I run a guild daily meta train, we start at reset and do lots of stuff ending up in daily private dragonstorm and 3 weekly private convergences right after dragonstorm. Average cleartime for private convergences is 15-18 minutes, 100% success rate and very manageable and fun to do with friends all in one big squad and comms and stuff. I as the leader run it for those who seek the legendary open world armor. I might get a version for myself eventually without even trying just cause I'm helping so many people get it already. But I don't need it, so I make motivations whenever I'm overflowing in mats. With said motivations, I run big t2-t3 rift farms with the same big squad as always. We clear them super fast. And when it comes to the weekly rewards such as the key for convergences which is 4.5/5g, most ppl keep it, a few donate it to me so we can open more private convergences. So when it comes to gold, it's actually very profittable. I'm not smart with my money, but just doing this daily guild content with friends that takes less than 2 hours a day, I make well over 50-60 gold a day without hardcore farming, it's just running around with friends =) Legendaries just rain without even trying. Useless content? I wouldn't say so, the mats for leggy armor? sure. But if you don't want it, you could make a nice amount of gold/hr by just doing it 3 times a week, which as I said, in private instances or organized pugs, it's around 15-18 minutes per run, 3 a week. The rewards are definetly worth it. Hope it helps!

In that context and in an organized matter its perfectly viable.
The public convergences are just a bit...meh in quality
ESPECIALLY if you DONT join at the exact moment the content opens up.
Then you are joined together with half full squads and often non organised which very often results in failure
In my case i have full leggy armor so i dont really need the open world version but regardless it is for people needing the ow armor definitely a big push to their goal
Additionally its something different from farming rifts only
Nonetheless for people not needing/interested in the new equipment its more lets say ..optional content compared to the other gold per hour farms 😊
