- A review of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Gen Business Ultrabook.
Lenovo released its 6th Gen flagship business ultraportable, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon to stay ahead of competition from the Apple MacBook Pro 13, Dell XPS 13 and new players like Microsoft’s brilliant Surface Laptop. Has Lenovo done enough to upgrade the X1 to Intel 8th Gen processors and new display panels?

Thanks for the review. I'm planning on buying this laptop with the WQHD (2560 x 1440) 300 nit screen. Do you recommend it? Or you recommend with other screen? Thanks in advance!
Thanks
what a beautiful laptop ?
What would be a fair price for this laptop currently?
Do you recommend for video Editing
Is there any noise or popping sound when using headphones?
Perfect review, thank U... I want to ask if this laptop fits for a digital marketer and business work field according to this Era of rapid growth in technology and digital tools?
Thanks and yes ideal for that type of work. 👍
it does
Do you recommend this for programmers. Is it good for running virtual machines? I heard it has heating issues. is it true?
Almost every laptop you can imagine will heat up somewhere along the line Lol
is the video editing run smoothly? i'm a college student and doing a lot of video editing 1080p for hours, is it worth it to buy this 6th gen laptop? or any recommendation?
This video was edited using the X1 Carbon 6th Gen with no problem (4K60). More importantly it is whether you need faster encoding times? I was happy to go away for one hour plus while it was encoding. Otherwise look at newer 10th Gen Intel H-Series or AMD Ryzen 4000 H series CPUs.
@@Dovecomputers is it okay not to have dedicated graphic card?
can it run adobe pr? smooth?
ddr3 ram??
What is the difference between it and the third generation? Do you recommend the third generation?
Newer hardware specs. 3rd Gen is an older model, so therefore slower in performance.
Do you recommend for programing??
Yes, especially with the gorgeous typing keyboard.
Still a good machine for this year? Port wise and performance?
If you can get a good price used, yes definitely still a good machine in general.
@@Dovecomputers what about 1100 american dollars? full hd display 16 gb and 512 mvv
@@rmrsw i got one for 700$ 1tb SSD 16gb ram 2k resolution and i7 8th gen
Can you upgrade an 8gb model to 16bg? Also for basic use should I be looking for an i7 or will an i5 do the job. Looking at these as second hand units for some IT education and practice.
RAM is soldered on. Make sure you purchase the 16GB model. 👍
Do u reccomend for students?
Great laptop for Students. Highly recommended.
isn't there a 7th gen X1 already out?
Yeah, I've had one since November and it's great. Slight improvements in most areas over the 6th gen. If you have the 6th gen the upgrade's probably not worth it. There's a 500 nit 4k version too.
Also worth noting that Linux works flawlessly out of the box apart from the fingerprint reader (a driver will be released shortly, apparently). This makes it a really good choice for developers.
The light flickering in the video is quite bad :/
Sorry! Forgot to up the shutter speed dial on some of the b-roll footage.
still worth it in 2021 (almoust 2022)?
Just got a gen 6 in the year of our lord 2024. It's great!
@@mikekelley8612 How much money did you get it for?
Can I charge it with regular Samsung USB C charger?
Yes
Soldered memory modul..ok thats it. A no-no if you buy a used laptop
