Very underrated film. I loved the original but this movie was very impressive too. Sylvester Stallone showed wonderful acting. The same with Miranda Richardson, Rachael Leigh Cook, Johnny Strong, Alan Cumming, John C. McGinley and others. "Get Carter" is my personal favorite Stallone movie in decade 2000-2009
He usually does a great job in most of his movies but he can’t help it some of the movies that he has horrible writing. There should be a rule with Sly, if you are going to sign him to do a movie then make him write the movie, cause the man can dish out great scripts.
Awesome!!!!!!.... remembered it from childhood....remembered....that I liked this one from.the movie...

I love this movie. 🖤 I watched in december 2000. in cinema. OMG already 20 years. "Hello Mr. Davis, my name is Jack Carter...." 😎 Hi guys from Hungary! 🙋♂️
Note that Michael Caine appears in both, the first as the protagonist, the Stallone version as a heavy. Love the cool soundtrack and how it was modernized by Madonna's musical alter ego and producer, Jellybean Benitez.
Roy Budd played the keyboard parts in the original trio version of the "Get Carter" theme (in '71) using only a piano and a harpsichord (simultaneously). I have to say that the year 2000 version of the main theme (a.k.a, Carter Takes a Train) was very well done by film composer and keyboardist, Tyler Bates. As for the film, it wasn't edited very well, but it still stands up as one of Stallone's best performances since the original version of Rocky in '76. Mickey Rourke also gave a fine performance as Cyrus Paice in this film. Overall, it is indeed an underrated movie that is well worth watching.
Film is more subtle and complex than its target audience could absorb. You have to connect quite of few dots on your own for the plot and story line to stay linear, and I think that is where a lot of "Rambo type" moviegoers got lost, thus why the film is so under-rated. The movie is MUCH better if you had read the book first, but still a great film overall.
This is a good movie and soundtrack but it wont ever top the original. Sir Michael Caine will always be Carter and that Roy Budd soundtrack is still awesome after 40 years. ;)
Yeah, this one didn't quite pass my "music test." A good movie never starts out with a crap theme, and vice-versa. This one wasn't even properly mixed to set a tense and action-y mood at the very beginning, nor did the weak montage. I did dig the nod to Caine's wiping spots off a spoon by Stallone. Probably his best acting bit ever.
I don't know about that. I love Michael Caine, but the original was hard to follow and understand and of course the ending was disappointing and tragic because Carter was killed off after getting revenge and offing all the bad guys that did his brother in. The original suffers in my estimation from hard to understand British regional accents, not really action oriented dramatic/violence scenes, and an array of forgettable character actors in supporting roles. Stallone version had a quicker pace, more drama, and an array of visually stunning and likeable and/or detestable characters, including Stallone, John C. McGinley, Mickey Rourke, Rhona Mitra, Alan Cumming, and adorable Rachel Leigh Cook as Carter's niece. Hard not to love the updated, synthesized soundtrack cover done by Jellybean B. as well....just slick arrangement.
@@s4gr_n0s3y it's good for what is it. I never Saw the original. But they Said it was better. Even Michael Caine was in the remake. Get Carter 2000 had very good acting, music & soundtrack and dope cinematography, Photography and Edition.
Roy Budd's classic Get Carter theme. Still respect the original movie even though it's a remake, classy ..... Should have taught of that with your Man From Uncle movie Guy Ritchie
Bande son original de ce film magnifique, stallone à trop la classe le seul bémol c'est la bagarre trop courte avec Mickey rourke qui un est un très bon méchant à la hauteur 💪😎👍
thing that always cracked me up about the over stylized opens like this is..we're watching someone doing everyday task...sitting on a bus, walking ...WHAT IF he had to go take a shit during this process?
First question of ANY movie is: "Who's In It?" If at least two cast members interest me, I'm in! Here: Rhona Mitra (who was the 'Tomb Raider' model), Mickey Rourke, and Sir Micheal Caine, of the original film)
@dd777dz ahhh great comeback... 6 lines of criticism without any actual facts... thank you for for the kind of reply that truly justifies what I think of your nationality.
I prefer the original with Michael Cane in it. Love Stallone but in First Blood and many others And seriously? Why would he use a train? I mean I can understand it in British version with UK being the size of an average American backyard. But in US? Wouldn't Stallone rather fly? I guess they just wanted to use the song and it fitted a train journey much better. But wonderful book, movie and remake nonetheless.
@dd777dz I presume you are referring to Britain, in which case you are very very wrong. Firstly USA's involvement in the eventual result of the war is greatly exaggerated, the Soviets (who joined about the same time as you) had a much greater impact. As far as Britain is concerned, the closest Nazi's ever came to invading Britain was the Battle of Britain and in that instance it was almost a complete British effort that won the battle, no Americans involved.
Battle of Britain wasn't WWII - it was a tactical campaign within the larger war or global conflict; WWII wouldn't have been won by the Brit's if it hadn't been for USA intervention....let's not re-write history too much now.....LOL
As has been noted above, the soundtrack is awesome but an update of the original....a very effective and emotionally striking array of electronic sounds linked by a tight percussive backdrop. Kudos to the one and only Jellybean B., the Madonna collaborator, for making a compelling soundtrack from the 70's resonate so cleanly in the 2020 era. Some great music, great acting by Sly, and incredibly strong cameo/character actor performances by Alan Cumming, John C. McGinley, and Mickey Rourke, and the very fetching Rhona Mitra....damn seductive and mysterious....
if you thought the original get carter was bad son then you're either to young to appreciate it or clearly lacking any taste in film, the original was brilliant
Quentin Tarantino is only one of many directors who have gone on record saying it was one of the greatest British gangster films of all time, i think i'll regard there opinions as more valid than yours
@the7train ...now off ya go? Ok then...., take a look at the music favoured by you in your own channel....most of it's so called, "Limey" music by "Limey" bands. Feel free to delete it, anytime. Cain put calculated menace into his character. It has nothing to do with "Limey's" pissin' up a rope. Meeting a, Carter character like, Cain projected, should make you want to do a U-turn and stay out his reach.....Stallone on the other hand ? Rambo in a suit. nuff' said
When I heard the first little bit of this song I’m like ooh this sounds good then it comes in with the techno drop and it just loses me right after! The film was a flop! I’m sorry but it’s true, the film was a flop! I can’t believe it was made at all, at least the original had grittiness to it, this one feels like it just has a Hollywood sheen of grittiness, not enough for me, hell Stallone would have been better as Cyrus Paice and have Jack Carter be played by Mickey Rourke if I’m honest.
The original British film is about a hundred times better than this Yank nonsense. Is Hollywood so devoid of ideas they have to remake anything good, and reset it in America, so that you don't have to listen to foreign accents? Pathetic.
how exactly do brits do the same? get carter is considered one of britains greatest ever films. How would you feel if we remade the godfather, considered one of your greatest ever films. we just woudn't do that. but you feel you can remake get carter. worst remake ever.
This film has been, and deserves to be, entirely forgotten, as opposed to the original. Yet another lazy Stallone remake. I'd like to see this chubby ponce spend a night in Gateshead.
Love Stallone's style of clothes in this movie, classy
Very underrated film. I loved the original but this movie was very impressive too. Sylvester Stallone showed wonderful acting. So underrated, fantastic movie.
Agreed.
Amazing movie. I love the style, the was its filmed, his whole look. He was 54 in this movie and definitely doesn’t look like it. Eye of the Tiger 💪
One of my favorite opening scenes ever. So epic. Carter is my favorite Stallone character.
Stallone does a perfect job in this movie. Hands down one of my top 5 favorites.
What’s your list?
He usually does a great job in most of his movies but he can’t help it some of the movies that he has horrible writing.
There should be a rule with Sly, if you are going to sign him to do a movie then make him write the movie, cause the man can dish out great scripts.
Stallone looks like the Iceman himself. A mimic like a Stone.
Awesome!!!!!!.... remembered it from childhood....remembered....that I liked this one from.the movie...
I love this movie. 🖤

Hi guys from Hungary! 🙋♂️
I'd like to get this theme on a loop of about an hour. Classic perfection.

I would love to have those suits! The man was wearing the hell out of them in this smooth movie
I had no idea this film was remade. Watch the original its superb!!!
Note that Michael Caine appears in both, the first as the protagonist, the Stallone version as a heavy. Love the cool soundtrack and how it was modernized by Madonna's musical alter ego and producer, Jellybean Benitez.
It is
The Vegas man with the Vegas tan.
Good-Soundtrack & great movie-credit-opening*
Fantastic movie, I loved it.
One of the best.
Look at Stallone bad ass, nice.....
By me... Nice body, hard to understand voice, wooden acting.
KutWrite your comment is fucking stupid

Stallone nailed this character . He plays a terrific tough guy.
Cool sound. Love the hammered dulcimer.
Harpsichord.

EzyGlider no this is an American remake of a much better more complex film. This film masses no fucking sense
And they say Sly cant act. Like the scene Jack and Doreen have an emotional venting on the rooftop
un de mes films préférés avec sylvester,un bon scenario et des bons acteurs
I LOVE THIS FU***** movie

Ariel Medina thanks, hopefully I will watch and I hope it’s good

best intro ever.... very special remake i love it
Roy Budd's classic Get Carter theme.

The Michael Caine original will always be the classic.
Naw this one is too epic.

Wow nice movie
@KaRapinha It's a mix of Roy Budd's original Get Carter movie soundtrack from 1971... with Michael Caine.
First question of ANY movie is: "Who's In It?" If at least two cast members interest me, I'm in! Here: Rhona Mitra (who was the 'Tomb Raider' model), Mickey Rourke, and Sir Micheal Caine, of the original film)
ilove sylvester stalone his movie and act but people dont like his many movie .
the clothes were wow -- I think only Armani

Huge MC fan, but I think this is a better movie than the original.
The movie is not as good as the original but this one is great in it’s own way
Does anyone know the song which plays at the end of the film?
