  • Powered with a DLE 55 rear exhaust. Modified for Robart 150e electric retracts. (Switch out the stock gear if you buy this plane and the hardware , these items are junk.) Plane flys Beautiful, nice and stable/slow with full flaps for smooth landings if you don't have a cross wind like I did in this video.lol.
All n all I recomend this P40 as a def warbird to add to your stable.

I'm on the fence between this one or the Phoenix 30cc Spitfire, I have a Rimfire 160 I need to put on something!

How was the cg with the 55? Just picked one up but debating the 35cc recommend motor with a 50-60cc.

is it difficult to fit the retracts? I have issues with one side of the stockies deploying ( new version with springs and scissors)

Not hard at all really. You will have to make the mounting blocks longer for the robart gear if you go with the robart 150e electric gear like I did. I made the blocks longer and cut them to fit snug then put triangle stock in to brase it and epoxy it all in. Wish I would have made a conversion video now.

thanks mate, I have to do something ,one leg gets stuck half way down, just don't like the Idea of spending more than I paid for the plane on retracts,

How did it balance with the 55 and what prop did you use?. Did you set the engine at the 165mm?

Balanced on their cg but I had 3 life batteries inside the turtle deck to make that happen with the 55 on it. Prop was a xoar 22x10. Engine was just bolted right to the firewall without any modifications. Just like the p40 was meant to have a 55cc in it.
I also installed robart 150e retracts that weighed more than the stock junk retracts that came with it.
      Hope this helps you out.

Tim G Does your have the retractable tailwheel?
Seems that there are a few different versions of the plane. Newest one with Electric retracts included. Mine has the retract tailwheel and pneumatic retracts. 22x10 is what i ordered
      Thanks for the help.

@@maximumdeflection2113 no mine didn't have the retractable tailwheel but I did move my tailwheel location up to the scale spot on the plane. I didn't know they were offering that p40 now with a retractable tailwheel option now. Nice. Hope it's in the scale location though.

MaximumDeflection hey maximum I'm thinking of buying the plane, does the one on tower have the new electric gear with tail wheel retract

@@Rooksaho looks like at tower it's still being sold with the air retracts. Atleast that's what it still says.
