Going to be interesting.
So many good players are going to miss out.
No doubt more injuries in the next few months to any of those in consideration will determine eventual selections.
Agreed, Robertson definitely has some tough selections to make, and yes injuries could 100% affect it.
exactly " INJURIES " are going to play a big part in selecting an Abs playing 15, so "rugbyitch" how about selecting an Abs 2nd IV to cover injuries with bench-warmers through out this year, it is going to be a long test season(14) for Razor.
There's a new kid on the block ,perhaps in the style of Sonny Bill Williams, he's leaving NRL at the end of the year to play rugby in Japan, Joey Manu, a Maori player, plays for Roosters at the moment, a great gamebreaker ,plays anywhere in the backline ,great fend ,strong runner ,offloads easily ,built similar to Sonny Bill ,inside centre would be his for the taking ,hope the coach is watching ,he'd be ready for the world cup in a year or so
Great line-up! With Sam Cane now off the table perhaps another 7 to add to the squad. As you mentioned, Tom Christie has had a stellar season, Peter Lakai also appears to be up and coming too. In terms of the blindside position, I think Wallace Sititi is another potential bolter. He covers both 8 and 6 positions and size-wise is heavier than Blackadder and Iose. Iose has been a huge standout whereas Blackadder is really good but does have a history of injuries. Scrum-half - it's a shame about Cam Roigard but I think that Funaki has been sensational for the blues in place of Finley Christie. Fly-half will be interesting, seeing that Havilli has been playing 10 - although I wouldn't mind seeing someone younger climb through the ranks such as Ruben Love and Harry Godfrey (even though he's a fullback) it would be good to see them get some quality time with experienced 10s.
Thanks, I will be doing a updated version within the coming weeks. Also agree with the names you have mentioned as well, going to be a tough selection for Razor!
Good team. Love your work. I have no idea who the last loose forward from the Hurricanes was because it rolled off the tongue very quickly, but your team looks good 😃
Thanks for the kind words and yes I definitely speak quicker in these type of videos as I get excited, sorry about that 😅
I reckon RAZR will pick a bolter lock and not Paddy T, not sure about Delaney yet and I am a Canes man.
I want to like Fakatava but he goes missing during games.
Ratima, Love and Narawa for sure, we need pace and aggression in the mid and outside channels.
As for the loosie mix, Iose for sure, he is the next Ardie, could be better than AS over time.
there are so many cherries to pick in 2024 🍒🍒🍒
My 2024 All Blacks prediction
Props: Ethan De Groot, Tyrel Lomax, Tamaiti Williams, Fletcher Newell, Xavier Numia, George Dyer
Hookers: Codie Taylor, Samisoni Taukei’aho, Asafo Aumua/Ricky Riccitelli
Locks: Scott Barrett, Tupou Vaai, Naitoa Ah Kuio, Patrick Tuipulotu
Back Row: Luke Jacobson, Ardie Savea, Hoskins Sotutu, Peter Lakai, Brayden Iose, Samipeni Finau, Dalton Papali’i
Halfback: Cortez Ratima, Folau Fakatava, TJ Perenara
First Fives: Damian McKenzie, Brett Cameron
Centres: Levi Aumua, Jordie Barrett, Rieko Ioane, Billy Proctor
Outside backs: Etene Nanai-Seturo, Emoni Narawa, Shaun Stevenson, Mark Tele’a, Sevu Reece, Ruben Love
Really nice selection, only players I would switch in would be Ofa Tuungafasi, Celeb Delany and Stephen Perofeta for George Dyer, Naitoa Ah Kuoi and Brett Cameron. Besides that great selection of players, like the balance in your squad 👍
Our best fullback was converted to 2nd five because we are weak in the centres since Nonu and Smith departed. If you take Jordie out the centres it's still below par. Beauden for first five if he's selected. Hurricanes front row looks strong. Samipeni Finau at 6 Luke Jacobson at 8 and Ardie at 7. You get the feeling that the AB's will be in the same boat that the Crusaders find themselves.
nice
How do you miss Xavier numia at prop he’s probably the most in form prop this season
Hey brother. Long time watcher. Loving the content. I understand this might come across as a nitpick and for that I’m sorry but I think you should know this is absolutely well intentioned. And I’m a fast talking kind of guy myself, so I get it. But I have to bring this up. You’re really butchering a lot of these players names. I get that they’re oftentimes hard to pronounce, but coming from a Māori/Pasifika background myself I also know how offended some of us get when these names aren’t pronounced properly. You don’t have to heed my advice but you could consider it. A big fan of your work and this channel too and if I wasn’t I probably wouldn’t have said a word.
Thanks for the kind words, deeply respect your comment, will definitely try to work on it. I like to think I do know how to pronounce the player names but of course when I do talk fast it gets lost in translation, so totally get your point. 👍
@@rugbyitch it’s really not easy pronouncing so of these names bro. So you will gain a lot of respect from us brownies if you do so. That being said, I still very much so enjoy what you’re doing especially with our mates the Kiwi Lads
I seriously hope that Robertson does NOT include overseas players - this is a perfect opportunity to build HIS team of what is leftover and what is IN New Zealand!!!!
Time for Cane to GO!!!! He is one of the most over-rated 7s I have seen and it was ridiculous to play the best 7 in the world at 8!!!! If Savea wants to play for the ABs then play his rugby in NZ - same with Beauden Barrett! Its time to look at the future 7s - Kirifi Du Plesis and Tom Christie - the reason why Casper Papali'i is having a poor season is because he is over-rated!
If I was Robertson I would NOT mess around with England and take stock with what is left over from the Foster team, play the experience and add to that!!!! It would be a serious mistake if Robertson wanted to scrape that team and start afresh! Robertson NEEDS to win against England! Robertson still has the following:
De Groot, Lomax, Williams, Newell, Bower
Taukeiaho, Aumua and Taylor
Barrett, Tuipuotu, Va'ai, Lord
Jacobsen, Blackadder, Finau, Sotutu and Ioane
Roigard, Perenara, Christie, Fakatava
MacKenzie, Perfetora
Barrett, Havili, Tupeia, MacLoud
Ioane, Leniert-Brown
Clarke, Telea, Narawa, Stevenson, Reece
Jordan,
That is 17 forwards and 18 backs who are already All Blacks - strong base for Robertson to start from! TO that I would add the following:
tighthead prop
mid lineout lock
Christie, Du Plesis and Grace
Moreby
Love
link for the tierlist?
Unfortunately didn't save it, so can't provide one, hope you enjoyed the concept 👍
Whoever they select as loose forwards, they need something that the 2023 squad was lacking : size/go forward and genuine 3rd line out options.
WTF did you watch any rugby last year?... Frizzell filled that role in 2023... was one of the best 6's in the world, brilliant line out, abrasive tackler and made yards
Papalii needs to stand up, for a big guy he's a bit soft
Finau is that guy
@@itistrue101 I agree with Frizell but he was the only one with all those qualities : Ardie has go forward but lacks size and height and Sam Cane was mainly there for his leadership and tackling. NZ has even more need for a tall backrow to support the lineout because their senior lock Scott Barrett is relatively short compared to the other elite sides.
luke jacobson and du plessie Kirifi u forgot
Jacobson was a apart of the loose-forwards who just missed out but definitely has a good chance in being selected, Kirifi is a great shout but didn't put him in my thinking as Peter Lakai has played more mins in his position this year and has been pretty consistent.
@@rugbyitch yea but I think Jacobson will 100% he's been in the all blacks for I think 3 years and du please kirifi is amazing when he gets over the ball he wins it he has to be a must in the all blacks
Ethan Blackadder can't stay fit for 5min
True but if he can go on a run of games where he starts consistently than he will 100% be in the conversation, especially in the eyes of Robertson.
Disagree with a couple of these statements made here mate.
Firstly Asafo Amua has been miles better than any other hooker, secondly Stevenson is not better than Love. That being said, predicting a 36 man squad will be named, this is how I see it playing out.

Sorry for not being clear, Asafo Aumua has 100% the best hooker in super rugby this season, just wanted to mention Matt Faessler from Australian perspective as well. Also unfortunate that Asafo is now out for 6-8 weeks with a MCL tear, should hopefully be ready in time for the 1st test aganist England. Also liked your 36 man squad and starting XV 👍
Ratima is miles ahead of Finlay he is basically a Roigard clone.
Sevu Reece isn't there any other wingers .still overlooking kini naholo.what must that guy still do .sam cane had only one good game as an all black ,but still he is been pick .kerifi is so much better .and there is other players🤷
Heyyy tim bro moustache looks nice. I like it you looking so handsome man
Cheers 👍
This accent confuses me, slightly American, slightly English, where are you from? Also no Kirifi?
Dont worry, get it all the time, I myself don't even know what my accent is 😅 Born and raised in Hong Kong, Mom is American, Dad is from Zimbabwe and have a Irish and American passport.
Kerifi and proctor missing, remove Recko and Cane.
Fair switches, I will be making a updated version in the next couple of weeks 👍
What about Akira Ioane
Hasn't been consistent to consider him but as a Blues fan I hope he has a resurgence!
he is simply not good enough..against abrasive sides like france..south africa..he doesnt measure up!!!
I love Caleb Clark but he is not a good wing, perhaps he should look at playing centre as he like to be where the action is. He is a game breaker for me. I don't think that Reiko deserve a place in the team. What did he bring on at the World cup final/??? NOTHING
Sorry Clarke gets exposed in defense and that's a centre's job
Horrible, horrible thing to say about Reiko. Wash your mouth out!
You so right ,i would play clark at 12then move Reiko to wing
Remember back in the days when they put Nonu at 12 everyone was against him ,,cause he couldn't make tackles ,so whats wrong with bringing clarke into 12..i would love to see him at 12
Still too early to foresee, end of May we will see where we at, with so many injuries. I would still have Findlay as the 1st choice 9
Fair enough, picking the numbers is tougher with Roigard out
Centres severely lacking. Reiko is no centre and Jordy isn’t affective at 2nd. We need natural centres who can bend that advantage line and set up our outsides. To say Reiko hasn’t had the best season is an understatement he has been practically ineffective since his 13 switch and shouldn’t be picked there.
Faarken hell it was always Perofeta!!
Happy I selected him then! 😂
You clearly don't understand Robertson .He will pick at least 2 or 3 from those based in Japan!
To be fair, Ive picked Ardie Savea, Beauden Barrett and Sam Cane who are all playing in Japan.
@@rugbyitch Savea and Barrett yes but Cane not in a million years. I'm talking Mo'anga and Retallick and possibly one other . He has said he wants the best in each position . Savea and Barrett are on sabbatical but because Barrett has been signed by NZR long term he will probably forced to pick him.
@user-gv6vj7xw4u Mo'auga and retallic don't have nzru contacts, they can't be picked. Cane is injured. Need to move on from BB.
@@sammacculloch446 Their (JAPANS)seasons are over soon so cant see a reason a short term contracts cant be down. Razor was in Japan recently I sure it wasn't just to see those on sabbaticals.
