Mike you're such a likable person. I couldnt help but laugh when you said mcd's should call their big mac's "mac" minus the big. Hahhaahahaha
The sunrise tour shots felt like I was watching a 60's home movie or travel log. The music, the jumps at the edits, constant panning, exposure shifts, all that was missing was some grain and film dust. Very nostalgic. Definitely on my list of places to visit. I'll be close next week when driving Route 66 Kingman to Flagstaff.
Mike, I am in Western Washington and have taken our beautiful western areas for granted. Thank you for inspiring ❤️
Beautiful scenery along with great music..... Good job!
Gosh, I really appreciate watching Mikey's travel vlogs. It always feels like I'm actually there and just travelling with a friend. Thanks Mike!
+Guy Mats thanks so much Guy :)
And Welcome to San Jose! I'm looking forward to your review of the San Jose Din Tai Fung in Westfield Valley Fair Mall! and the New Port Sea Food Restaurant in the Little Taiwan District of Cupertino!
Navajo's on the COME UP!!!
Should've posted something earlier somewhere, I could've showed you around different spectacular places or gave you a list on places to see.
Thanks for sharing this awesome experience.
I love your videos. They always brighten my day. You have such a kind and adventurous spirit. I am so glad I found your channel. :)
Amen! :) "Addictive personality"... in this case not prone to addiction as much as is addicting to watch. Heart of gold, too. Maybe he ate too much gold leaf.
So beautiful. I live vicariously through your awesome adventures. Stay up brother
thanks :-)
Beautiful footage. Thanks Mikey - appreciate this!
You have such an open and adventurous spirit. I would never think of traveling by myself cross country let alone going to a remote places like this. Very inspirational!
I do this every 3-4 years. Take two weeks off. Rent a 4-wheel drive, throw in clothes, a pair of hiking boot, a tent for two, a sleeping bag, a couple pillows, blankets, portable stove, lantern, a fishing rod, 2 cases of water, etc. Then I just head out to the road and go where I feel like, stop if a place interest me, eat what I want. This country is beautiful and you'll be surprise how friendly the people are everywhere. It's a very liberating experiences, you get to be with yourself and silence.
Pro tip, do it early spring, gas price and hotel prices tend to be cheaper and the weather isn't too bad.
It really does sound like a great experience and I'm sure it's been character builder for you as well. It takes incredible self-confidence and self-motivation to travel on your own. As long as I can remember I've always been an over-analyzer and this quality (for the most part) kept me from doing a lot of stupid things but it's also kept me from being more adventurous. Though the more I learn about the positive aspects, the more I feel motivated to get out of my comfort zone. Thanks for sharing your insight and positive experiences. I really appreciate it!
Awesome tour Mike! The land is so beautiful it almost made me cry. Thanks for sharing. 😍
Have never wanted to go to Utah, but you just convinced me with those beautiful shots! Thanks! Have so much fun watching your journey!
Zion, Bryce, Arches, Coral Reef, and Canyon Land have similar effect on people. There's more to Utah than the salt flat and Mormons.
Seriously! I used to drive my mother crazy because I never wanted breakfast food I wanted like a cheeseburger or a fish sandwich,.. and you are so right about the Big Mac and there fish fillet too..
Man, I think we (my family and I) rode past this twice and never stopped. Next time! Thanks for sharing!!
I'm happy you enjoyed the Díne land of our people Mr. Mikey Chen! When I bring my fiancé/wife from China we both will enjoy this scenery, plus So much more! Like Canyon de Chelly, The Painted Desert, Antelope Canyon, The Grand Canyon.....you did say you would like to come back one day, when you do, see Antelope Canyon! My brother brought he Australian gf there & she literally Cried because of its beauty! Oh yeah!....you also like food, try some local food as well, like the Díne vegetable mutton stew with fry bread & a Coke! So Good!...just be sure to dip the frybread in the stew while eating😋!
I will definitely visit Antelope, thanks for the tips!
Have you been to Mesa Verde or Zion National Park. Sublime.
We did all that tour as well.. in 2008 amazing.. thank HEAVENS..
I just added another thing to my bucket list. Thank you Mikey Chen for this
My in-laws live in between Moab town and Monticello inside of a rock. We like to take our family vacations out in that area because there is so much to see. We did mesa verde one year and this last year we went to Hovenweep ( my favorite yet) its so pretty out that way. I really liked natural bridges too. Such a pretty area.
Beautiful, breath taking and mindful views. Thank you for sharing.
Great video, beautiful sunrise shots, music was perfect and loved hearing about the ancient hieroglyphics. We are looking forward to going here in the fall. Thank you!
Amazingly beautiful! I've always wanted to go, and your video/pictures only make me look forward to visiting even more!

Never been this early before. Keep the vlogs coming, MIke!
Stunning:colors and scenery was quite breathtaking. Actually being there must have made it to the nth :AWESOME!
You are doing a fabulous job. Keep on posting videos and enjoying yourself(eating). I think you are courageous to
follow your path and I so admire you for doing so!.
Loved the camera shots of the sunrise tour and great pairing with the music!
Thanks for taking me to Monument Valley with you man. It's one of the few places on my Bucket List. I might not get the chance to see it in person. Your video presentation of it was awesomer than any I've seen before. Seeing it in person must have been really awesome.
Glad you made Out To what We Call Our Motherland, The Navajo(Díne) Reservation... Love the Video...
My friend & I was on a road trip from LA to NY many years ago & Colorado was one of the states on our route. Man, thanks for this video! Colorado still look just as nice as I remembered! :D
Amazing! Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful vlog Mike, Safe travels
This was so amazing. Thanks for making this video. My dream is to move to the west coast and drive there often 😊
oh how beautiful and what fun! lovely hotel room. awe inspiring scenery!
This is beautiful, but New Mexico stole my heart long ago. Wide open spaces and mesas that stretch for miles. Every color in the rainbow and more is contained in the desert there. The lightening storms are epic. There is no where else that matches the chiles grown there.
i love these travel vlogs
Monument Valley is my favorite place on earth.
Awesome views of Monument Valley! You're so lucky!
Wow Mike, great scenery. Love the vid.
Wow beautiful scenery
Lovely sunset shots!
Love it!!
So amazing! thank you for sharing your adventure with us. This place is breathtaking! I definitely want to go and to do the sunrise tour! like you said, there's really something spiritual about this place.
Love the vids and the beautifull scenery keep it up :)
It looks breathtaking there at MV. It reminds me of the dead heart ( that's what Aussies call the middle of Australia) That red dirt stirs our hearts.
I love to drive and get lost exploring, your video is giving me life! awesome awesome awesome
Great stuff Mikey.
So beautiful. Soul filling.
Loved this video~~!!!..... Beautiful ~~!!!!!..... I really enjoyed watching this part of your trip - move cross country~~!!! I wish l can go to Monument Valley... simply " Beautiful~~!! "
Great photography of Monument Valley Mike
Stunning photography and great presentation love your channel 😀
Love Monument Valley. I wish I knew you were going there I would've recommend a traditional Navajo Hogan to stay at.Great Vlog.
Absolutely awesome video and I never, ever used the word awesome. Two strange parallels. I was thinking the word ,spiritual when you said it.Also,on the fluffy side ,my husband and I had to run a bunch of errands early this morning to be back in time for a repair guy.We did so well on time that he 'd suggested getting something to eat before we headed home.We were both in the mood for a hamburger and McDonalds was the only thing around .It was 10:45 am .Went in to order but all they had to offer was unappetizing breakfast .They now serve breakfast all day but not the rest of the menu. You're RIGHT!
That sunrise looked epic
loved your video. thank you for sharing your journey. Good luck and keep up the good job
+thank you!!Pedro Pereira
we so blessed.....our country is just beautiful and majestic..... we have it ALL.
Soooo awesome!!!! I live in arizona but I've never been to monument valley. haha very beautiful.
love these vids!! have you thought of doing daily vlogs?
haha maybe one day
We love your channel. Came across your bitter melon challenge and saw your t-shirt, looked up this post and...that's my older brother Leland!! I was probably at home watching your cardboard dumplings, fake eggs and rat mutton video. My awesome brother.
Great video. I had a front row cabin at The View's cabin which was awesome. I love MV.
Awesome video man. There is definitely something about the desert. Too bad you didn't come through Texas or you could've gotten yourself a huge Whataburger (my favorite burger chain). These videos are so cool to watch especially for those of us who can't travel anywhere for the time being. Again, stay safe, have fun and *_Keep 'em coming!_*
***** Yup. Very good. They make them any way you like them.
+Julius it's phenomenal
New Mexico has a similar sounding burger chain, it's called Blake's Lotaburger but everyones just calls it Lotabuger's. Famous for adding Hatch Green Chile to the burgers and delicious breakfast burritos. Try the Quadriple Green Chile Bacon Cheeseburger with curly fries.
I love Monument Valley, I have been there twice and would like to go back again
Thanks for such a great film. Definitely on my bucket list since John Wayne's the Searchers.
OMG I totally agree with you on the breakfast thing. I eat whatever I want for breakfast- not just "breakfast" food!
Magnificent!
Its great that you're traveling across the country the see other towns cities and people other than New York and Los Angeles.
I shared your video w/a friend that does a lot of car/drive-tours w/her hubby & now she's a fan!!!
nice! thanks so much :-)
^___________^
Great video, thanks for sharing. Such beautiful country, wish I could experience it in person . If you get to Texas be sure to tour Palo Duro Canyon , not too far from Amarillo. You can actually drive down into the canyon. It's known as the Little Grand Canyon and is a great place with lots of history.
Digging the Aspen shirt!
So beautiful there
So,so beautiful, l think the scenery was just outstanding. I live to see all the places you video. And I agree with you on getting what I want for breakfast or anytime of the day. My love of beef is like the love of your dumplings😁. Ok,stay safe and take care, as always your biggest fan from Arkansas 👍
Mike, i think for my first trip on my own, i may scratch Japan and do the whole desert tour. its filled with things i like, i can speak the language and its closer to home if i run into trouble... i'm seriously considering this. please add some links to food and stuff
Hi Mike, I recently discovered your channels and have been watching your videos for several days now. I now know why I like you so much - I love Sedona too!! Would you be so kind as to let me know which hotel you stayed at when you went to Monument Valley? Many thanks!
I like how with each video more and more of the tv box is visible
I totally agree! I never go to a burger place for breakfast. I want a burger and fries!
wow! you are blessed. your only 1 "private" how special! awesome!
The best thing about college parties and the parties my generation held when we got our first jobs was leftover pizza from the night before for breakfast.
Awesome ! I’m Diné and I have a list of places you should see especially if you love to ride horses and eat great food!. So glad you love our homeland. I agree sunsets and sunrises are unique and beautiful here.
Hi Mike, your are the best. Follow you everywhere😋😋
Epic!!!!!!
I thought you want to show specifically the monument, but burger man I m hungry. But show some beautiful shots . Thanks for sharing.
I wish these videos were numbered so i would know what order to watch.
I go from Mikey Chen and Strictly Dumpling by date to watch his journey. Usually Mikey Chen is the first to come out. But the SD has the actual food tasting and results. I have been loving watching his journey across the country.
Ps i load both next vids on each channel. Then watch the one that is first by date is what i meant
Soooo Beautiful......
so beautiful
hi Mike I've sucribed to all your channels your awesome dude
Monument Valley is absolutely gorgeous, now I'm really regretting that I was sick when we were there, my mother went on the sunrise tour, but I kinda had to sleep.
And San Louis Abisbo (heard it spoken, but not sure how to spell it) is also very nice, I have some trouble not mixing it up with other coastal towns, though, I'm not sure I'm thinking of the right one. At any rate, it should be lovely.
Could you leave a link to where you stayed? My family are thinking of making a week trip there to visits all the national parks there. Greatly appreciate all your vlogs.
ah should have stopped at hole in the rock! it's a super cool shop. good childhood memories there.
Best view ever.
To drive across America, from the east to the west coast is unique.
you should travel more and do travel Vlogs all year!
Great footage MIke! Where did you get your music for these scenes?
audioblocks :-)
haaha mike opening the bedroom door "quickescape incase some assassins are after me"
