LEARN the BADMINTON BACKHAND CLEAR- Execute one of the most difficult shots with strength

  • The backhand clear or lob is one of the hardest shots to perform and to master.
    Experienced opponents will often try to force you to use your backhand. And this can sometimes be intimidating because you think that you will hit a weak return that will be easy to kill, especially if it’s an overhead shot. You can try to hit it with your forehand, but sometimes you have no choice but to hit it with your backhand. And this is the problem that Coach Kennie will help you to deal with.

    Can you make a video of different shadow practices (with the racket) that we can do for backhand clear? Like moving from forehand net to backhand clear position in singles, forehand offensive position (forehand smash) to backhand clear because of opponent's cross court defence clear.... Thank you.

      Actually, in the video there is a drill that we did. I served to random points in the court then backhand, another point then to the backhand again... that is a good drill...

    Firstly , Mam, I would like to thank you for putting the effort and helping us to better our game. You always teach and elaborate everything so well and that shows you are a good teacher .Keep up the good work and you are beautiful 😊
    That being said , being a guy who have viewed countless backhand tutorials to learn and still not being able to do it correctly, has made me realise that, the common issue with us is the arm movement after we turn our body towards to hit the shuttle. Most of us, swing it wrong and if you could address this one it would complement this tutorial. Like the space between hitting arm and body, the swing from left side and how and when to supinate the arm and how elbow is having a role. I am not able to contact the shuttle correctly and that is where it goes wrong for me.
    I hope if you could address this issue, It would help a lot of us.
    Thanks once again

If possible, could you please make some videos on late backhand clears, drops including the cross court ones. • @ulrichrafa3012
    @ulrichrafa3012 Před 4 lety +1

    Thanks coach, great explanation as as usual but some of the the things explained can be very confusing for beginner, for instance while it is necessessary to get close to the shuttle, don't overdo it and get too close and not having enough space to play the backhand :) I had that problem for a long time so had mention it . Good luck.

    • @CoachKennieAsuncion
      @CoachKennieAsuncion  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks Ulrich Rafa for your comment. For beginners I normally dont teach backhand right away bec you are right, its sometimes hard to comprehend how to do it. So for beginners i would recommend using an overhead shot (it’s like using your forehand on the backhand side) but then you also have to be fast enough to do this. But for you since you can already use your backhand and have more knowledge already, i just want to clarify that you have to go near the shuttle in your most comfortable reach, do not take the shot too far away from you that you are overstretched bec the quality of your return wont be good enough. On the other hand if your too close it might not be a comfortable movement for u. So to cut the long story short, go close to the shuttle in a comfortable position so you can execute your backhand clear better. The right position will give u a better timing as well to hit the shot. Hope i was able to answer your concern. Thank again! 😁🏸

    • @CoachKennieAsuncion
      @CoachKennieAsuncion  Před 3 lety

      Tensions would differ from person to person. The higher the tension the bouncier, so your control will be very important. But if you are asking what tension i prefer, mine is 26 or 27 only.

    Great video and explanation of this shot Coach Kennie. 👌 I know you mentioned in the video that in terms of the height on this shot, the player should hit it where they are most comfortable but is there any advantage in making the contact at a higher point especially if you are under pressure in the rally and want to get the shuttle higher to allow more time to get back to base?

    • @CoachKennieAsuncion
      @CoachKennieAsuncion  Před 3 lety +1

      The force will come from constant practice. Make sure first that you are able to get it at the right spot & timing. When that is consistent already slowly work your way to keep practicing it. Be patient, we are all different as players but we must not tire in working on our weaknesses with a mindset of however long it takes, i’m gonna make my backhand stronger. But at the same time do not neglect other assets you have & continually keep your assets strong! You can be better! I know you can... 😁🏸

    Is it recommended for higher tension of racket to make it to the base line? Because i think i can do it but my problem is my racket tension is too low and doesnt reach the baseline

    • @CoachKennieAsuncion
      @CoachKennieAsuncion  Před 4 lety +1

      You have to try it... unfortunately thats how it works... try to increase the tension and observe if its better for you. In my case i only use 26-27 when i tried to follow my brothers tension at 30 it didnt work well for me bec i felt it in my elbow, the vibration might be too strong for me... so try it out... let me know how it works out for you.

    • @CoachKennieAsuncion
      @CoachKennieAsuncion  Před 4 lety +1

      It’s a conscious effort to move fast and hit fast but this will take a lot of practice until you get the timing you want. Be patient and keep practicing... 😁🏸
