  • Curator Elise Edmonds will explore the history of the old Devonshire Street cemetery, which used to sprawl across the sandhills at the south end of the city, where Central Station now stands. Elise will focus on some of the collection items from the Library which inspired the fascinating exhibition Dead Central. Join us online for the story of an extraordinary project taken on by two determined individuals to document the old cemetery before it was cleared to make way for Sydney’s Central Station.

I am a descendant of George Howe, a small stone is out next the First Fleet Memorial on Anzac pde at Little Bay we wonder what happened to his original tomb from the old cemetery, i have never seen an accurate image of him, he was part Creole born on St Kitts West Indies , the only depiction is on the stained glass window in the library

Most likely to hold up the power cables.
