The people who used the card to donate to charity are kind of big brain to be honest. I'd assume that the reason they did that was because they knew people would inevitably steal all the money anyway, so they wanted to make sure some of it went to a good cause.
I'd hope this to be the case, however it probably isn't. The easiest way to test to see if carded details are still active is to try and make a donation, Wikipedia was the main one back in the day due to it only requiring the card details and not the address or any other information of the card owner.
Ya. Some people are skeptical, but giving money to charity is pretty normal I would think. If you stumble upon extra money you don't need, you should give it to those who need it.
As a Glaswegian myself and someone who feels totally robbed by that final 3 points taking away our #1 spot on the leaderboard, I'm still very proud of my city. Glaswegians have always been some of the most lovely, kind-hearted and friendly people you could meet, despite the stereotypes. Well done Glasgow! 🏴
A charitable donation is a quick way of testing if a card is still active, it's a known process for card thieves because you normally don't have to bother adding your address or arranging any type of delivery. It's so common I'm surprised it only happened in 3 of the locations.
When someone donates random peoples money to charity they get hailed as a saint but when I donate 37 kidneys I get arrested. We live in a society smh 🤦♂️
I feel as though the Cardiff bike was a bit unfair. It looked abandoned, same with Bristol. They were in bushes whilst the rest were in normal streets.
