Two question:
Does rastafari religion believes in reincarnation?
Does someone know where he gets this prophecy about a small band playing music from a place 144 thousand square miles ( jamaica)?
Third additional question: was he just too high?
Yes, essentially they believe in reincarnation.. and instead of the heavenly afterlife they Believe that Africa will be heaven... I respect it and all but it's kind of a strage philosophy which only seems to focus on Africans and even in a political way.. but IMO spirit actually goes beyond race and materialism of earth and the spirit is the whole universe and beyond into a different realm... Bob converted to Orthodox Christianity before he died so maybe he even doubted Rasta in the end.... And I dont know the answer to your other questions lol

@@Spencer.Hendersoni don't think Bob converted per se. He was baptized into the Ethiopian orthodox church, in keeping with his Rasta beliefs. It was a way to be closer to Ethiopia.

All I really know to put those pieces together is in order to be baptized that pretty much is conversion and his mama said his last words were "Jesus take me"... And I know Orthodox Christianity doesn't coincide with Rasta beliefs.. to be baptized you gotta give you're whole heart. Rasta is of this world, maybe Bob knew deep down his Christian roots were the way... Being Rasta while Orthodox wouldn't really work, they are different beliefs. Bob was a genuine soul though that's for sure. Whatever direction he went, he meant it for sure
I understand where you’re coming from, but I’m pretty sure that Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity can definitely coincide with Rastafari beliefs, because Rastas have various beliefs.
Rastafari is a more of a movement, it’s not a religion.
For example:
Some believe that Selassie was the reincarnation of Christ. That doesn’t coincide with Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity.
But others don’t believe that- some think he was just a prophet. That COULD coincide with Ethiopian Orthodox Christian beliefs.
There is so much fluidity in Rasta beliefs. For example, there are “white Rastas”, which one could consider somewhat of an oxymoron, but they’re welcomed.
& concerning Bob, he didn’t even follow the solidified beliefs, otherwise he wouldn’t have dated Cindy Breakespeare.
Also, it’s super important to note that Rastafari is rooted in Pan Africanism. The Orthodox Ethiopian church is “One of the few Christian churches in sub-Saharan Africa originating before European colonization of the continent”.
The history of Ethiopia is so important in Pan Africanism, & even the back to Africa movement for Rastas. So even at a high level, they can definitely coincide. I’m pretty sure some of Bobs kids are Ethiopian Orthodox Christians - I think Steve is.
And to be truthful many people practice different variations of their religion. Even within the same denomination. No one ever really practices their religion to the “T”. That’s just human nature, & it reveals our need for divinity, anyway.

The elders who were their peers told us clear that Peter was authentic and didn't do 'appearances' for optics. He did not approve of how they were handling Bob's affairs especially the funeral. The vibe between them had been off before Bob died because of the toxic environment and people who would poison Bob's mind against Peter and ultimately and constantly attempt to undermine Peter, his words and work and compare it to Bob's. I have the exact same spirit about it. Some of us still hold integrity above optics.
Regardless of what peoples opinions are or what they might think….. It was Robert who was responsible for spreading the the works of H.I.M to the world. Sacrifice has to be made, to the point that Nesta worked himself to death to spread the message. No one is perfect in this world and circumstances are unique to every situation. Peter was just as great as Bob in his own right. Let’s not quarrel over the past and let these men rest in peace. They’re message will be tímeless and remains the hope for the masses.

I don’t fault him for not going to the funeral. It was his behavior toward Rita after that concerns me (about his character). He was rude, harsh and aggressive. He went about tearing pictures of Bob off the wall and proceeded to be obscene with her shouting demands of taking over the Hope Street operations. Shouting forget him, he dead. It’s these things I struggle with. You don’t try to run ruff shod over what another man has built (no matter what you feel) you assist or move on.

You may, or may not agree with me. But Peter Tosh reasoning is far more SUPERIOR and more eloquent in comparison with the other 2 Wailers. I am very satisfied with his response regarding the death of Bob Marley. Not because he didn't go to the funeral, it doesn't mean he wasn't (privately) in mourning. After all, he is a human being.

Their communication skills are also unique. However, a non-Jamaican would be able to overstand Peter, and Bunny much better in an interview....although Peter Tosh often uses words from his own "dictionary".

It was Bob who opened the doors of Rastafarian way of life for me! And I continued on my journey. When I was growing up in Brooklyn the rastamen in my building used to tell me Peter Tosh was behind the shooting at Bob Marley’s home.
No way. They reunited in 1978 at a Los Angeles concert. Plus in June 1976 Peter Tosh released Legalize it and was doing concerts and a press run. So ain't no way he had time to plan out a killing.

For me too. Maybe Peter just wanted to politely skip the question. But, there is a possible relation and root in Hinduism.
The First Rasta, Leonard Howell used also an Indian name, Gangun Guru Maragh. There is a story of an Indian guy who saved his life and took care of him, so he survived. Leonard probably brought some customs from Hinduism. Some of Shiva's followers traditionally have dreadlocks. Ital food has some elements of Indian food. If I recall correctly, some early Rastas also had religious figurines, similar to Hindus.
As I can see, generally, Rastas are getting closer to Christian Orthodoxy beliefs (popular ones were the prophets Bob Marley and Lee Scratch Perry) over time, and as the concept of reincarnation is not a mutual belief point, it is not widely accepted, but I might be wrong on this.
