A classic overcoat is gray to charcoal. Navy and camel ( with exception of the camel hair} are specialty coats. The key in my mind is the length. The coat should strike below the knee. Most of the coats portrayed in this video are at or above the knee and hense sub optimal.
I bought a full length duffle coat when I lived in Germany in the 80’s. Olive drab with dark brown leather fasteners and buttons made from horn tips. And heavy! Always get compliments.
