      Disagree that it was too loud. Agree it wasn't really necessary.

    Great content, gents. The disagreement over the button configuration was amusing - nice try, Austin. As ever, you have presented a stunning outfit as the centre piece and shown it in alternative styles that are all imaginatively put together. While I have a double-breasted navy blue blazer, having a similar type of jacket in a beige / biscuit tone has never been on my sartorial radar. After seeing this video, it is now! All of my suits are double-breasted; single-breasted just does not cut the mustard for me. This year (2023), I ditched my single-breasted dinner suit in favour of a pristine vintage 70+ year-old double-breasted edition. Originally bespoke, and oozing quality, only minimal alterations to the trousers were required by my local tailor to make it a perfect fit. Correctly accessorised, it looks the business.

    I got my first double-breasted from Circolo 1901 recently, and it's quickly become my favourite blazer. It's unstructured and doesn't crease easily, so I wear it for flying. Definitely planning on getting more.

    It all comes down to the cut, fit, and fabric. Cucinelli cord double-breasted jacket has been a staple in my wardrobe for years alongside Brioni DB suits.

    Sure, I've had other single-breasted jackets paired with odd-pants and such, but the very first suit I got was actually double-breasted. Jaded pockets, no vent and wide lapels. I absolutely love it and wish that I had more occasions where I could wear it more.

  • @SicSeb
    @SicSeb Před 7 měsíci +2

    I had one made because I really wanted one for a long time. It has patched pockets, no shoulder padding, wider lapels and 1/3 lined.
    It's a 6 on 2 and I'm so chuffed.

    I always thought this was a four on one look. If I had this made bespoke, I’d probably specify removable buttons - the ability to swap button colours would make this jacket even more versatile.

      @@RampleyandCo I have a new navy 6 button double breasted blazer. When standing and walking, should I leave the botton button undone as I would a single breasted? Or keep the button at the bottom done up? Personally I like the symmetry and showing off all 6 buttons (as opposed to just 5 being shown). But wondered what the etiquette is? Thanks

    One of the best segments you both have presented. Filled with intel! Love how this jacket lends itself so well to various sartorial situations. Would like hear some styling tips on whether it’s ever acceptable to keep the buttons undone. My sense is it would detract from the whole aesthetic. And would patch pockets as an option add informality to a still splendid garment? What about slanted pockets? Maybe for a Part II. Austin looking cool today and giving Chris a run at it. 😊 🥂

      Anyone can wear a double-breasted blazer and look fantastic. However, it's important to ensure the jacket doesn't extend too far below the belt, regardless of your height.

  • @phillipwong3754
    @phillipwong3754 Před 3 měsíci

    Is ironic to discuss DB when neither of them were wearing it on this vid. One big thing they failed miserably here on this vid is first focus on the stature and build of the wearer. IMHO if you are short and fat, is going to make you wider and shorter. If you are short but more normal build have a more cropped length (not traditional) so it doesn't make you look too short. DB is very hard to wear unless you wanna look like Princes Charles in the 90s and 2000s as is very dated. Also with a DB, you need to button it up, unless you wear it as a fashionable blazer (which should be oversized) with your Balenciagas
