- Oak Canyon Trail is an easy (waterfall) hike in San Diego. It is a little over 3 miles and it is considered easy because this hike only has ~250 feet of elevation to it. Although I do not normally recommend hikes in Mission Trails, this one is perfect following some rain - the river provides tranquility and a perfect background noise to the hike. Check out the video to learn more and learn about how you can make this hike longer if needed.

Nice video. This is probably my favorite hike at Mission Trails. A few times I've gone under Hwy 52 and kept going up the canyon about a mile but I think it you keep going you go onto Marine Corp property which would probably be a bad idea. I avoid going there a lot due to there being so many people. I feel like it is being loved to death.
Thanks for sharing! I did not know the marine corp was nearby, but I guess that makes sense since this land was previously used for military training. A ton of places are being loved to death, unfortunately, but this is why I think outdoors education is so important. We should be teaching people about Leave no Trace as much as possible - try to minimize our impact. thanks again for watching and commenting!
