After being a proud hamster owner, the first thought that crossed to my mind while watching the first picture was: Ok, i'm not cleaning that.

Some of them are alright sizes
Most of these hamster cages are not the U.S limit (360 sq. in) because tubes should not be counted because its a crawl space. if you built/bought a house that had crawl spaces about your body size while your crawling on your hands and knees it would not be counted in there total floor space. In conclusion most of these cages are under the smallest size of cage your allowed to keep a hamster in. (the U.S cage size is the smallest size RECOMMENDED!!!) Also sadly its not considered abuse to animals.

Lol I keep commenting on these types of videos. Anyway, if you actually look at the date, it says 2008. Back then, there was very little information on the amount of floor space a hamster really needs. Because of that, people thought that their little hammies were happy in their Crittertrails. Be happy that information has become much more accurate and available now.
Most of these are very small, inadequate cages that hamsters would NOT appreciate.

Hamsters are classified as a prey animal and, as such, can suffer stress very easily when a potential predator is near. Please don't let your cats, dogs etc. interfere with, sit on or disturb the hamster cage I'm any way. The RSPCA have actually written a very useful guide on taking care of your little rodent pal. +Breyer and Schleich Dreams tubes are bad only if they are used too much or if they are the majority of the space. If you need tubes for access to extra levels or as a way for your hamster to explore, they are great. But that first cage is a prime example of what NOT to do with tubes.
They are OK. You just don't want to put too many or your Syrian/Teddy Bear Hammy. A dwarf and maybe a few is OK.

omg that 1st 1 is friggin awesome
a high powered hose makes cleaning fast and efficient when cleaning tubes. you can buy one as a shower attachment in the the bathroom section of any large retailer. they work wonders. but every 2-3 months make sure each piece gets a vinegar and hot water soak.
SO COOL AND CRAZY!
Lol that's the Critter Trail three, which deconstructs down completely, for easy cleaning, so all you have to do is make the dog sit and stay for a little bit.
Put an electric fence around the cages to scare the cats. Now thats crazy.

When I wonder when humanity is at its lowest points, I watch this video.
These are more appropriate for mice, imho, but even for them you have to be careful because the tubes don't really connect as well as you'd expect and will want to tape them up too. Otherwise they can and will escape.

Some wicked cages. Some of the cages I see nowadays are cruel. Way too small. Half the size of what pet stores used to sell =( some of these cages are just insane. I love it! I love hammies ^_^

always wanted to buy every known hamster cage and toys to put them together
I have the cage on 1:17 to 1:2O - it's called the Savic Hamster Heaven and my hamster loves it.
OMG 1:34 does that hamster cage exist?! LOL
i have a set up not much different from 1:50 though a little more tubbing but less areas and over all it didn't cost much as we got tubes in bulk or from charity shops e.t.c (disinfected them first though) and it it only takes around 4-5 hours to clean a week and keeps the hamsters happy however i wouldn't recommend tuning like this for syrian hamsters as they get stuck easily, also it solved the problem of my two winter whites from fighting as they hardly see each other
most of the cages are just normal cages but the first cage is WOW o.t.t over the top but cool :-)

I'm literally crying because of how sad this is. All those cages are way too small for hamsters. Probably at least 60% of hamsters that "live" in those cages are depressed and won't live long. This is hamster abuse, poor hammies.
