Nice story. Still, I can't help thinking if the Tests could be passed, and if self-sacrificing is desirable, then obviously choosing that had no risk of death and everyone should pick that option?
Could the memory-loss test be cheated by sharing it with his comrade in advance? 🤔

I'm glad it's not another "planetary settlers battle with fauna", "space prisoner has bad day" or "salvage crew uncover something evil on a shipwreck". Tbh I was expecting them both (as well as the journal's owner) to all somehow be the same person at different points in the same timeline.

This has been another epic journey, maybe the best one yet, or maybe not; all of them are good - although my opinion is that you are getting a lot better at it and mindfully broadening your topics. I find this to be a great exposure of intriguing ideas done with your masterful implementation of a well-paced narration of a concise, very entertaining (and hard to turn away from) plot; I enjoyed the very personal approach to fate, decisions, and consequences.
