Nikon D7000 Portraits

  • This 10 year old DSLR still packs a good punch for portraits! I can see why D7000 owners hold on to it. Lowlight performance still holds up! Autofocus performance is still really good. The Live View is good but nothing close to modern mirrorless cameras BUT, at least it has Live View! Overall, a solid portraits camera and a high-tier camera to learn with! Watched a lot of your videos on older Nikon cameras, bought a D3s last year and going to try out the D7000 after getting a great deal on one. Have the 50mm F1.8 and agree it's a perfect all round workhorse on older Nikon bodies. Keep up the great work!

    From a UK Nikon D80 user. I think it is great that you draw attention to the potential of older Nikon DSLRS. I have watched a lot of your videos. As for myself thinking of upgrading to D800 or D750 soon. Many Thanks Indeed.

      Can't go wrong with the D800 or the D750. Love my old D750! But I also liked the raw files from the D800 as well.

      Yes, this is how I edit my images :) I am using Adobe Lightroom to edit my images. Adoibe does have a "Photographers" option and you get Photoshop and Lightroom for $10 a month. Hope this helps.

    I just got my d7000 a day ago and I have a photoshoot coming up what would you suggest for a cheep but really good af focus lens would you suggest for the d7000?

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  Před 10 měsíci +1

      What kind of photoshoot? I'm assuming portraits? I always carry my Nikon 50mm F/1.8G with me for photoshoots. You can a used one for under $150. If you're looking for under $100, the older Nikon 50mm F/1.8D lens isn't bad as well. Those are 2 lenses I would suggest for the D7000 if you're on a budget.

    Hi Khoua, great showcase with the different lenses. I currently own a 35mm and a 18-200mm lens for street and macro shots. Is the difference between the 35mm and 50mm significant and worth the purchase or should I go for a fixed aperture zoom lens next? Black Friday is coming up and I thought it would be a good time to upgrade the body to the Sony a7c but your shots make me reconsider the whole thing again 🙃 I really like the zoom on the 18-200 but it suffers a lot during low light.

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  Před 2 lety

      Thanks Ken! I guess it really depends on the kind of photography you're doing and how much you will utilize the lens. I would suggest Sigma's 18-35 F/1.8 for a very neat fixed aperture zoom but it's pretty limited of focal length for that lens. I love fixed aperture zooms, like the 24-70 or even the 17-50 2.8 but the prices definitely give you a 'unique' image.

    Curious why you underexpose. It's that to persevere highlights in the sky, or have less noise?

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  Před rokem +1

      From what I remember, I was trying to preserve the highlights. I was using the exposure meter to assist but clearly, I was off on my original files. :)

    Great job! I have my Nikon D7000 and after watching your video I buy that 50mm Nikon lens which you recommend, but in my camera auto focus doesn't work with this lens. Do you have same issue with Nikon AF-S 50mm f/1.8 G lens on your Nikon D7000? Help : (

    Hi i have a d7000 but during night time i can't get a perfect shots especially night events. What is the best setting for lowlight?

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  Před rokem +1

      It really depends. There are a few factors as the lighting situation can change or can constantly be bad and eventually, you would need to use an external flash or the flash. There are no "best" settings BUT, if you have a fast lens (a lens that has an aperture between F/1.4 to F/2.8), use those lenses and make sure you adjust your ISO correctly. Anything below 1/100 MAY be too slow depending on what you're photographing. Like I said earlier, it really depends what you're photographing at night events.

    Sir, between d7100 Vs d7200 which one you will choose

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Price would be the deciding factor between those 2. But the D7200 just has better tech compared to the D7100. At the end of the day, both are insanely great cameras. If budget was not a factor, I would get the D7200.
