Ive followed this and its all done works for me, on chrome but others are telling me the buttons do nothing I think its due to popup blockers. how do you get around this as surely this is going to affect the results

Just in case anyone is having issues with the pop-up after entering the shortcode, ensure you copied the correct ID.
I too thought that ID is just 3 digit number (as can be seen in this video) but it isn't.
In my case it was 4 digit number. So carefully observe the ID and copy paste is correctly.
I updated the shortcode with 4 digit ID and the pop-up works just fine now.

Where do you find it if you're not using PRO?
Tim Foley. You need to go to the Elementor in your dashboard. Then open the "Templates" section within it.
Now open the template that you want to use for pop-up.
Once that template opens up, go to the address bar.
You will see a "?" symbol followed by "post=".
The number after the "=" sign is your shortcode ID (it could be 3 or 4 or 5 or any digit number). Copy paste it and that should solve your problem.

This is very helpful, I tried to use one of the free form plug-ins and it didn't seem to format the form very well. I think I will try the Elementor Pro version so the forms are included. Again, thank you for such a complete tutorial, I will let you know how it works.

Hello Dave this is super useful. However, I had a problem with integrating the popup maker with the Elementor CTA button. When I clicked the button after typing in the CSS ID (I tried both IDs, the first half and the second half), nothing happened. Could you kindly give me some advice? Thanks.

You describe in your video that if you don't have the pro version of elementer grab the embed code from your email providers site, and paste it into the pop up, but nothing happens, am I pasting it in the wrong place. right underneath the [insert_elementor id=...] is that correct, or should i place it somewhere else??? Do you mean you want to upload an image and then tilt it within Elementor itself? Rather than upload an image already tilted in your graphics app?
Hi Dave, I see you re-introduce the header on the Thanks page - is this something you'd recommend? I was thinking more along the lines of removing it (like the opt-in page) to prevent distractions and keep the user focused on the page for a further CTA.
Can totally do that, yes. The thanks page is a perfect place to drop another CTA. I left it in mainly cos for this simple example I wanted to give a path for the visitor to explore the rest of the site. Both options valid I reckon.
Hi, got some pronlem on 9:20 😅 I am using elementor free and can't find "my template" tab under the elementor section. Is "my template > popup" only available in elementor pro?

Great video, I always had trouble with all the settings in popup maker but you made it really easy with just a couple of tweaks. How come you chose Page for the template instead of Section? If you choose Section, I think that's automatically a "canvas" like layout since it's just a section to be used within a page right? Curious about that..
There's a really good reason I use a Page template..... can't remember what it is?!
Oh yes! It's because I use the Duplicate Post plugin to clone my popups when I need new ones. And when it creates the copy of a Section template, it turns it into a Page anyway. So I just set it as Page in the first place and forget it.

Sorry Dave, should have kept watching your video. The "thank you" page showed the nav bar which gave me the answer.
You can just put the landing page on the main site, just don't add the page to a menu if you don't want to. No need for a separate domain or a sub-domain if you don't want to. No need for that extra effort or complexity. :)

First of all , Thanks a-lot for this series of tutorial, but I have a doubt in this video. How did added the Text and Short code in same section? Even I tried my level best, I couldn't align the pop form along with the text in it. Can you reply ?
Hmm I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean how did I add them in the same column? I just dragged them into the same column, one under the other.

You can set thanks pages to 'noindex' for search engines in an SEO plugin, like The SEO Framework. I should have mentioned that in the video actually - forgot! Yes, legal pages essential too. I didn't put them in here cos I wanted to focus on the essentials for this particular lesson.

I don't know. Have you created the thanks page with Elementor Canvas? If so, then that's why.

I am having an issue...everything was going fine up until I had to create the shortcode and embed it in the pop-up form. Unfortunately it's not working :-( I've gone back and wathced the video numerous times and I can't figure out what's goiing wrong...I've installed Anywhere Elementor, as per your instructions, copied and pasted the shortcode (grabbed the number from my url), done everything as you instrcted, but when I click the CTA button nothing happens, I only see the line of the pop-up form, just the black line...Can you help a poor fella? :-)
I too had the same problem but finally solved it.
Ensure the code is correct. Recheck the post ID number. It doesn't have to be only 3 digit number. It could be a 4 digit number too (like in my case). I assumed that my post ID will also be 3 digit but it wasn't so.
I updated the shortcode with 4 digit ID and the pop-up works just fine now.

Up until the point where anywhere elementor/anywhere elementary pro is not compatible with Wordpress anymore... :( it’s not really your fault though.

Hi Dave, can we use popup for FAQ?
Yeah, easily. If using Popup Maker, you'd have to make the FAQ in a separate Elementor template and then paste in the shortcode for that template into the popup content. I use the Accordion widget for FAQs.
If you have Elementor pro, you get the shortcode. If not, install AnyWhere Elementor, which gives you a template shortcode. Instructions for how to create that shortcode are on the plugin's page: wordpress.org/plugins/anywhere-elementor/
If using Elementor Pro's popup builder, then you can create the FAQ right there in the popup itself. No need for shortcodes.

What if you search 'form' in the widget search box at the top of the widget list?

Yes you'd need to create a form in GetResponse and then put that inside the popup instead. That would be the easiest I think.

Hi dave you videos are so helpful.. but i have a problem beacause under my elementor plugin there is no "My Templates" im ysing the free one.
It's now in the Templates menu item under the Elementor menu, and then Saved Templates. Elementor like to move things around.

hi! do you have any alternatives on the opt in form if you dont have elementor pro? what i mean to say is: the name and email form along with the button...i dont get what youre saying about it on this video..i just cant seem to follow and dont want to go pro just yet..somethings not right with elementor especially the responsive option from desktop to tablet then tablet to mobile...would love to know any alternatives so that i can save instead of going to pro
Yeah you don't have to use an Elementor Pro form. One idea would be to use your email marketing provider's own HTML embed code they give you. Just add an HMTL widget to your page and then paste in their code. Or... use a separate free form plugin, like Caldera, and paste in their own form embed code instead. With that option though, you have to integrate Caldera with your email marketing provider. Caldera has some integrations built in, some you have to pay extra for with add-ons, and you can also connect them with Zapier too. If you're not sure, just paste in your email marketing provider's HTML form code, it's easiest cos it's already integrated.

I don't know! I wonder if it's because you've set a display condition that's not working? Try removing all display conditions completely, so the code runs on every page. Does that work?

Ah. Well.. I maybe should have used a section template actually. The reason I use a Page template (forgot why till you asked)...
I use the Duplicate Post plugin to clone my popup template, each time I need a new one. And when it duplicates the Section template, the duplicate is a Page template. NO idea why. So I've just got used to setting it as a Page template in the first place.
As I say - I've used a Page template (for that ^^^ reason) for so long now, I didn't think to explain!
