What a fun project! Anyone getting ready to dip their first car soon?
Done my motor oil 😂
I have a 2013 Camaro ZL1 I want to dip and I just ordered my spray gun, how many gallons for the perfect coating to peel off when I want to switch colors?
Why not to dip window trim , i have seen all of your videos you never dip window trim ! Why so?
i am about to go for it
DipYourCar going to dip my 2018 Chevy Malibu soon. This video was amazing for me
It takes a very patient teacher not to be yelling, Close, Faster, Slower, 50-50 dude. LOL. It's a true struggle for first timers to learn and even I after so many dips I still have to struggle to stay on the line.
Is much more easier to edit a video.
Imagine training as a machinist lmao
Everyone at DYC looks like they work out or ready at any given time to work out.
Fonzie: 20 push ups go!
Fonzie's biceps versus a normal person.
I like the color
I was nervous for him the entire time but he did SUCH a great job for a first timer. I’m proud of him!
This is by far the best video you’ve done for information regarding first time painters 👍
Kkkk

This video here is what sold me on “I can do this too!” Great example of how forgiving it can be when you just simply follow instructions. Well done, guys!
You’re such a patient teacher, and he did such an amazing job for his first time!! It’s always fun watching someone learn something new! Great video :)
Hands down...this has got to be one of my favorite dip video you put out. Awesome to see a first timer dipper. I can definitely relate!
I like how he was so cautious in removing the tape and drape and you just yank it off lol
As usual, awesome video 👍🏼
The satisfaction level as a teacher to teach a willing student and a student to learn by making mistakes and later become a teacher themselves never gets old. Love to see it . Patience respect and discipline are the key.
What I love about this video is you literally see his confidence grow as he progressed with the spraying. In the beginning it was gentle and apprehensive. Then by the time he did the first layer of color, you see the movements becoming more fluid and consistent with the speed of the swipes. Great job!! I think I sense a promotion for this guy to help out with spraying in future videos (after more practice). 😬😉
You know that looks freaking great! The couple issues Fonzie pointed out are totally forgivable on a 1st time project, and the quality of the finished car is a testament to not only the product, but the instructions given.
I think that this is by far the best video for beginners. i liked how the process was shown in stages and being able to see a first time user do this and what to expect as you go. I have not dipped my car yet but have been watching for some time now learning everything that i can.
This was so helpful and way more informative than most videos for DIY’ers
He did great for his first job, he really encouraged me to finally paint my car and I’ve been dipping wheels and accessories for years. Will be purchasing a kit ASAP.
Well done Steve! And DYC.... that was an amazing way to demonstrate the first time dipper process. Well done, truly inspired
That kind you for this show all video…Has given me more confidence and will definitely be a future customer….I think he did a great job for his first time and you are a great teacher which helps a lot…..👏👏👍
This is incredible!! Just what i need before attempting to fully dip my own car for my first time. I'm so glad that any small mistakes he made were included. Those are mistakes i could have made as well. I got to see how they were identified and fixed. Thank you so much guys!!!
Bravo Fonzie. That's the way to get your people more involved.
You can see him becoming more and more comfortable as he went along. Excellent
I think Steve did a phenomenal job! Good job Steve
This is awesome! You have great patience and it's even better seeing experts share their knowledge hands on. Encouraging me to dip my bike.
This may very well be the best video I have seen on youtube. I'm about to paint my car and this was highly educational. You are a great teacher and I'm sure you could take any novice and make them a professional in record time. I think I'd love this as a career. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.👍👍👍👍
Wow, you guys are great teachers - clear instructions, patient, setting up realistic expectations... and your student is very receptive, and applies correction quickly. Oh, that all classrooms had this environment.
You did a wonderful job! You must be very proud! And you have the best mentor in the industry! Keep up the great work and products !!
Excellent video, very informative, and I caught myself cheering him on. Can’t wait to tackle my own project! Great content!
Wow, great job Steve. I loved the color you chose. Looks great.
He did an awesome job... Great video to show that anyone who's not a painter should be able to paint their own vehicle 👍👍👍 GREAT JOB STEVE !!!
Very informative video. I'm glad you all did this. Fonzie makes the process look so easy. Also very good teacher. It's easy to correct someone constantly or micro manage. I like that he was allowed to make some mistakes. It shows him how he can do better and shows how user friendly the product is. 👍
Great job Steve! I swear watching it I was yelling at my tv “get it Steve” multiple times when he got to the color coats!
Brilliant video Fonz, that’s what I call a learning curve.
Just goes to show how important the prep work is. Great video and very helpful. Someday I'll definitely give this a go myself.
Thank you, great job for his first time! This will definitely help me when it comes time for my first dip!
Mistakes happen no matter what. Never going to be a perfect project! Car looks great for a first timer! Nice job Steve! Also great job teaching Fonzie! Hopefully I can get my car done in the near future!
I have been waiting on a video like this for years! Perfect
Great job & coaching style ... people can learn and enjoy learning with that type of instruction. Thank you both.
I have bought multiple kits for wheels, even getting my friends to let me dip their wheels. Now you have sold me on doing my car. I really appreciate you guys doing the tutorials you have! It doesn't just help we the consumer, it helps you guys sell more product. Thank you very much for it all!
BTW peeling of the dip is one of the most satisfying deconstruction there is. hahaha
Awesome! I've been watching you guys periodically. Awesome that you are going through the entire process with a novice
Awesome to see you guys do this. Showing what it’s like for first time users with an inside view on what to do and expect. Keep up the great work and stop flexing so hard lol. Gainz for dayz....
Looks great. I dipped the fairings on my KTM, and since I followed directions they came out perfect. Take the time to learn, practice and prep and you'll get great results.
You're a great teacher my man. Keep up the great work. Great job Steve keep at it man practice makes perfect.
I was kind of hoping that at the end you would give Steve something cool. One, for his 5 years with your company... Thats loyalty! And two, he killed that job!!
Great video!!
Who says I didn’t.. 😊
Well damn! Steve! Steve! Steve! Lol
been watching because the colours are so nice looking -your community is so nice and yall are really patient and lovely and super skilled people!! great stuff!!
as someone who is seriously looking at dipping, this is such a informative video and super cool to watch a first timer do it so i know what to except. shout out to the bro for a mean job
Actual video that helps us out I think... great idea and video!!!
So, any help on how to fix the few mishaps? Or would it be non fixable??
I really liked this video. It was good seeing a complete newbie walked through the steps.
The ASMR I’m the tape removal is amazing!!! Love the color 💚 what a great teacher and student
I think that's an amazing job for a first time. Way to go!!
Great job Steve! Not only it a very cool color choice (IMHO) but turned out absolutely terrific...congrats'! Better plan ahead with a good handful of business cards in your car to hand out. I can certainly see allot of strangers striking up a conversation with compliments & questions. Nicely done.
Fonzie, your boy crushed it!
Great video thanks to whole team. This really helps me to become a better dipper😊
Awesome idea for a video! That green really pops, too.
Great job teaching ! Loved this video. I've done masking & primer coats, but not color before. So I really enjoyed this video
Great video. Steve did really well on his first dip. Nice color too
I’ve been watching hours of your videos merely in preparation of dipping my front and rear badges (and possibly my chrome door trim)... now I feel confident enough to dip an entire car lol.
As a Automotive Painter I loved watching the process of someone who’s learning with a good coach! 👏👍
Can’t thank you guys enough for this💯truly subbed to you guys and this weekend I’ll buy your products the most descent juicying and the copper look is a go🔥 never knew you had to put plastic inside the whole engine cool intake all that. Thanks for the tips 💪🏽own you one big dawg
nice video man its fun to watch a new painter try his first project it reminds me of when i started painting 10 years ago
I'm no professional by any stretch of anyone's imagination but I do paint my car, my moms, and my dads ( my dad's car almost bi-yearly he likes changing colours up often) so Ive gotten the hang ( at least imo) pretty well. I think he did a really good job if he is new to doing this. well done. Good teacher too. my dad lost his voice first time i started spraying my car xD
When he cracked his firt smile i was there with him like yes i can do this a very motivating video nice job guys i love this product 👍
Thus was awesome and very informative. Makes me feel better about dipping my own vehicle.
I’m very impressed with how this came out. Especially being able to see someone that’s never done such a type of project and learns as he goes and understanding the mistakes that happen afterwards, which I was also impressed with the few mistakes he had. Most important, that’s a cool color!! Would really be interesting to see these colors on different types of vehicles, like wagons I have a 2014 Subaru Outback) or crossover, and small SUV/trucks
I love seeing these processes, but its helpful that the eye candy is present on all of these DYC videos too. 😅
For his first time that came out looking really nice 👍🏽
At first I wasn't quite sure of the color, but then when you brought it outside it looks amazing.
Everything that looks easy is harder to do and everything that looks hard to do is easy.
Great teacher, great student, excellent video thank you fellows!
Great idea for a video. Seeing a noob do this really shows the true difficulty areas that I'll experience during my first prep. Thanks for this. I would do more vids with first timers like this one.
So well done! Great guidance and advice for new dippers. Steve did a great job! Seems crazy that employees have never used the product in any capacity. Maybe a good idea to do some kind of project as new employee orientation.
Im definitely doing this on my mazda 6 this is awesome and an awesome video to learn from 💕
Such a great video, a lot of good info for the first timers
Good vid. I actually like this better than the 1st person perspective because I would get some motion sickness watching from that perspective. This, for me, is easy to follow and great explanations. Thanks.
Was tough for me to watch the first few coats cause I have been painting for 15years but he did i good job for first time. great video for sure. Should help a lot of people
He picked a Awesome color for the car. Great job!
It looks great! I have a couple of questions:
1. How durable is the finish, does it hold up to car washes? Does it hold up to (normal) hail?
2. Do the front lip edge of the hood or the front lip edge of the roof have a chance of peeling back over time?
3. How long do you estimate the finished car will hold up, is it one year, two years... 5 or 6... or more?
Thanks, in advance!
Nice, because I am going to tackle mine this weekend.
Saw this video and was impressed for the details and prep work outlined very good for a beginner like myself.ive been toying with the idea of painting my own car and learning the craft.I must say it's all about the prep work.but also the paint passes ( not to fast and not too slow) U must b in that zone of just letting ur hand slide side to side with out overthinking it. I will order the beginners paint kit and will check back in after my results.I feel confident that I can do it.Thank u for this video. Other videos I've seen doesn't show u the other angles and detail how do it.😎👍🏼
So informative i was interested in wraping my car but i feel like this would be more up my alley. At first i was kinda unsure but this video made me feel more confident
Awesome video! Just what we need to see , an average Joe doing it for the first time! Thumbs up to both of you.
pretty awesome you guys did this and help him out and gave him more background history
Great instructions. Cool color and good job.
That car looks sick! Good job Steve! I love it 😍
That was excellent! Would love to see a first timer do Proline. All the steps, just like this video.
Great video I’m been watching since day 1 gotta go back and revisit great info!
This is the greast video ive watched learning so much got all the taping and covering down ive been worried about. I know its always been 90% prep 10% spray thank you so much feel like i can do it no worry jus got to find the time
Of course it looks good students always good when we have you as a teacher thanks
Outstanding job! Great coaching! Great first time! What an awesome color! I will be looking into doing this project my 2019 Honda type r!
Great job for a first dipper, very informative video.
My first dip was all black spray cans! '01 Jeep Grand Cherokee (top half only, body trim was that nice grey) Great job on your first go 👍
I like this format of video. It would be nice to see more student type videos with fan cars. 😍
OMG… Bravo Fonzi!!! I painted cars when I was Young and I’ve wished to find a video like this!!! Thank You!!! DYC University Here I Come…. 😎
That was actually really helpful for someone considering doing this. I would assume that sunroofs are another one of those problem areas that you have to remove when wet.
very good result for a first timer . it just takes practice to get a hang of it . awesome project and very informative . hopefully we see more videos like these with all types of people, be it more skillful, male or female ...
Best video ever to show them dipping car first. very intresting u show these techniqes but not everyone used this eqipment. my friends used a paintspray bud dind't job well.... this video hows everyone how to used dip for cars. i love this project guys 5*. thanks for all :D from Hungary
Hey fonzy, when you were talking about the masking being important, my dad always used to say "Always use the 6 P's" "Proper Preperation Prevents Piss Poor Performance" an I use that principal to this day... well done he did so well, keep doing what you're doing, Take care from the UK
Great stuff i learnt some stuff to thanks. I look forwards doing my own car.
Just a great video to learn from, excellent tutoring and although I skipped parts of the masking I'll be able to repeat watch to get that important step right.
Steve killed it. Looks awesome for a first timer
This is the best idea yet!
This is the video we needed! :D
Cool video Fonzie, maybe we can get another one of this dude doin a different car next and maybe some of your other employees would want to try too, have a good one man👍
Best video of this channel !!
So excited for this
