- Looking for an easy homemade gift? Learn how to make these different cookies in a jar recipe! I will show you how to make an M&M cookie, Oatmeal raisin cookie, Tons of Chocolate, cookie, and a Sugar cookie jar recipe for 1 qt. (32 oz. jars). All the recipient needs to do is pour the dry ingredients into a bowl and add the wet ingredients to make delicious cookies. These cookies in a jar recipes make excellent gifts for family, friends, coworkers, teachers, and neighbors (pretty much anyone who likes cookies!) Bring out your arts and craft side by adding decorative fabric on top of the lid, tie with ribbon, and attach cookie cutters, mini spatulas and whisks, or sprinkles for the recipient to decorate the cookies with. Don't forget to add the recipe card to these cookies in a jar, so the recipient knows what wet ingredients to add and how to bake to get delicious cookies. There is a holiday themed recipe card and a non holiday theme recipe card since these make gifts all year long! You can also write the recipe down on paper for more of a homemade feeling.
M&M's Cookies in a Jar
In this 1 qt. 32 oz. jar:
1 1/2 cup all purpose-flour
1 tsp baking power
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup M&M's
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
You Will Need:
½ cup of melted and cooled unsalted butter
1 large egg
1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt the butter and let cool. Stir together cooled butter, egg, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Add the contents from this cookie jar and gently stir until combined. Chill the dough for 30 minutes. Form small rounded sized scoops of dough onto a lined baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers of the cookies are still slightly underdone. Place baking sheets on a rack to cool.
Oatmeal Raisin Cookies in a Jar
In this 1 qt. 32 oz. Jar:
1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup & 1 tbsp. of brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup raisins
2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
You Will Need:
3/4 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
1 large egg
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Stir together the softened butter, egg, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Add the contents from this jar and gently stir until combined. Form small rounded scoops of dough onto a lined baking sheet. Bake for 11-13 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers of the cookies are still slightly underdone. Place baking sheets on a rack to cool.
Tons of Chocolate, Cookies in a Jar
In this 1 qt. 32 oz. jar:
2 cup all purpose flour
1/4 tsp of salt
1 tsp of baking soda
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 tbsp. cocoa powder
3 tbsp. special dark chocolate cocoa powder
3 tbsp. black cocoa powder
You will need:
1 1/4 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream together the softened butter, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Add the contents from this cookie jar and stir until combined. Drop spoonful's of dough onto a lined baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers of the cookies are still slightly underdone. Place baking sheets on a rack to cool.
Sugar Cookie Cookie in a Jar
In this 1 qt. 32 oz. jar:
3 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
You Will Need:
1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream together the softened butter, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Add the contents from this cookie jar and stir until combined. Chill the dough for 1 hour. Roll out the dough until it is 1/4 inch thick, and cut into shapes and add sprinkles if desired. Place the cut out shapes onto a lined baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are light brown. Place baking sheets on a rack to cool. Decorate with icing if desired.
