Ortho Bros:- whatsup glaucom bro's
Game idea- combining diagnoses or terminology from 2 different specialties, and creating a new medical term. Then describing what the new affliction, injury, treatment or *whatever* is.
Endocrinology + Orthopedics. Ophthalmology + Gastroenterology. Cardiology + Nephrology (*make* those 2 have to work together!). Of course, you'll have to be sure to repeatedly tell viewers that these new things are all made up. But Diverticular Greenstick Fractures of the Gall Bladder sounds like a fun one to try to describe with a straight face. :)
I love the way you illustrate my Specialty, Infectious Disease physicians! So intellectual! Over the December holiday, almost 30 years ago I was consulting on an Orthopedic patient’s infected joint replacement and talking to the Ortho resident about his patient. He had his feet up on the table and was so tired he kept falling asleep as I was talking to him. I had to keep tapping his feet with my toe to keep him alert!

I love my orthopedic surgeon ! Bi-lateral knee replacement in 2007 and my right knee just replaced in August this year. He’s my hero. I’m walking better than I have in decades and can climb stairs now !!
That is awesome that Dr. Weening still remembers a lot from medical school. Nice ortho physicians. Reminds me of days helping Ortho physicians with C-arm specially for Hip replacements but I never understood why they do not need C-arms in knee replacements.
You said you've never seen "blue sclera" in the office -- I have that - in both eyes and diagnosed by my ophthalmologist.

What's funny is when I broke both of my long bones in my left leg and I told the ER doc I sure didn't want a fat emboli and he said you can't get a fat emboli from breaking your bones. Whaat!? Great video btw!

55:20, I just had strabismus surgery two days ago! It was to fix divergence insufficiency with esotropia, which means I had double vision. It worked! I can see, and rest is key

My ortho is short (like me)! And seems kinda small -- but he's kind, and just radiates that "desire to help"; so i never asked him how i got SOOOOO PURPLE during my knee surgery; i mean golly whiz, literally from toe to groin, bright purple! I thought it was knee surgery???? How did everything else get purple? No, don't tell me!
Dr Paul said that 3 of his 5 joints went home today.Did the patient stay overnight or go home with the joint? LOL
So.... interesting that I think I may have stumbled upon during this very informative podcast. I have diagnosed Visual Snow, Tinnitus, and other visual problems (like the blue sclera you mentioned). I am in the process of getting an appointment with a neuron-ophthalmologist and then when you mention cranial nerve 6 as a reason for strabismus (which I had three operations for) it all kind of clicks for me that brings things altogether. I pretty much have all the symptoms listed for that. I know docs don't like patients coming in with a self-diagnosis, but I hope my upcoming appointment with the neuro guy will be open to looking at that.
I don't think that rat banged its head against the cage. I think it had an altercation with your Mom! And your Mom had to come up with a story so your brother wouldn't be mad at her. That's my version - and I'm sticking to it. First time watching your podcast. Loved it. 😄

hi doctor, I'm 20-years old- guy, my hair is falling out, the dermatologist said it's because of hormonal changes in my body, how can I normalize this condition? Please advise
