We all know about the Circle MRT line. The line that will form into a complete circle in 2025 with stage 6 being under construction. The MRT line have 3 Rolling Stocks. The Alstom Metropolis C830, C830C and C851E. But from what many people didn't know is that Circle Line wasn't ment to look like this. Instead, the MRT line plan in 1997 looks very different than that of today. Now that plan have been forgotten for years. So what is the plan look like back then? Watch the video to find out.

Ok I only had 1 question to ask. And I hope most of you will answer this. So since they renamed the Marina Line into Circle Line, will they rename Seletar MRT Line? Pls let me know.

The removed leg was actually absorbed into the DTL from Promenade to Chinatown (Landmark and Cross Street became Downtown and Telok Ayer stations)

Im surprised there's no mention of the Nicoll Highway collapse. I wonder how the MRT lines would've connected had the collapse not happened, cuz Nicoll Highway was planned to be a cross-platform interchange orignially. But with this video, it prob makes sense that the other line was to connect with Kallang, maybe part of Bukit Timah line?

The LTAMP in 2001 showed that the TEL (then TSL) was meant to go through Novena then Little India and meet the Marina Line at Nicoll Highway
Kallang branch is takeover by Seletar line.Tanjong pagar branch canceled. Chinatown is now took by the downtown line if im correct
Well one of the thing that you forgot to add is that Nicoll Highway is planed as an interchange but due to the collapse it sadly cannot anymore.

For tanjong pagar cannot for Chinatown we have DTL for Kallang they have the Selatar Line in the Future

it's not efficient with so many brances.
It's the reverse. Normally train is quite empty when it comes to the end of line. The branches will increase the utilisation of the train.
It just not optimised for the travel time. Since you need to wait for correct train, it will be similar like waiting for your bus number coming.
