Such a long choros for large orchestra, more original in its nature, architecture and even vocabulary than for instance his symphonies, , is one of a set that is perhaps at the top of the generous inspiration of Villa-Lobos, who received a lot of heterogeneous influences butalways knew how to keep a style of its own, deeply rooted in his country's culture, not only by melodic and folkloric allusions as did successfully Dariuis Milhaud for instance, but by a total immersion of his musical inspiration in the most authentic national cultural roots . Let us listen carefully to this Choros 12. We do not hear superficial folkloric musics, but we feel completely stuck into a cultural world, as the Russian world in Stravinski's "Rite" or the French one in so many pieces by Debussy. This music is perhaps peculiar. But indisputedly it is great.

What a wonderful piece of music. Villa-Lobos is definitely a fine composer, with unique charms. I am most used to his pieces for solo guitar, but I found this composition very pleasant.

"CHÔROS Nº 12"....Villa-Lobos à compôs, por volta de 1928, porém a sua estréia se deu apenas, em 1945, nos E.U.A....Há uma assimilação melódica, com a canção folclórica, "Estrela é Lua Nova"....Villa-Lobos faz uso da técnica de desenvolvimento motivacional: variações e forma intervalar!....Na secção terminal, a presença de um "esquinado" -- uma dança folclórica, do estado do Espírito Santo....( ( Texto: Walmir Dantas ).

There is a book in Portuguese that analyses some of Villa-lobo's techniques. It's called '"Villa-Lobos: processos composicionais" by Paulo de Tarso Salles

you cannot produce such type of music with the stock plugins -
-Second:
You have to try really hard to achieve even mediocre results -
and you have to use some expensive Kontakt libraries.
-Third
You have to love classic music and devote yourself to this - otherwise you will find yourself producing
boring epic themes like the 99% of classic music producers do.
I am very curious to learn if you have found your way around after 3 years.
