Bellof adapted better in Sport-Prototype where he was champion in 84 (World Endurance Championship). He was among the favorites to win the 1000 km Spa-Francorchamps in 85 and ended up suffering the fatal accident.
80's motorsports were something else, F1, B-Group Rally... Probably the closest championships and most dangerous driving, and of course legends with balls to drive them.

Just think how lucky we were growing up in the 1980’s? Touring cars, WSC / Le Mans, F1, Rallycross and of course Groupe B. It was an amazing time to be a car mad young boy.

all of this stuff has looked amazing forever but to be able to build a full sim and experience it all with a couple beers has made me appreciate the passion more than anything, theres something about these cars that are the perfect blend of skill and speed, not too fast not too slow
Cars here were so overpowered. Took incredible skill to drive these cars. Todays cars take skill to drive really fast. Back then, you needed to be good just to get it moving. Those cars took such nuance. Fouled ignitions if you let the rpm drop too low. No downforce unless you were at speed. So you had to be fast to even get the cars to their sweet spot.
i just wish we could go back to the 80's, when the cars were 1400 hp deathtraps that ran on rocket fuel and had enough turbo lag to break your neck. because after all, what's life without a sprinkle of danger?
Man the 80’s were something. Drinking, smoking, sun baking, partying, hot cars, no safety, no COVID, no mobile phones, no Climate change to worry about. Everyone looked so carefree and happy in the videos.
