    My language is not English, but I understand you. you're doing a great job of explaining things in a way that's easy to understand. You're also providing us with the opportunity to express ourselves clearly, which is very helpful..... hese tests are often tailored for native English speakers or those who use English daily. For non-native speakers who still understand English, the scores may vary.

    I loved the video!! Made me feel so much confident. Apart from that, I found out these exams dont really prove our skills. You are an expert and didnt manage to know the correct answer in the Environmental Protection text while I, not being an expert, knew it right away. Its "three". Although I didnt manage to know the correct answer for the question about the horses ("above"). This is definitely a coinflip, even in my native language I would hesitate a lot. I thought I had to have all the answers correctly, but again, this gave more confidence. Thanks a lot !!!

      So glad to hear that! Yes, you definitely don't need to get every answer correct to get a high score on the DET. This is because the DET is adaptive. The questions adapt to your level, which means that the test should always feel somewhat difficult.

      @@ArnoLearning Thats good to know. Ive got one question, in the speaking questions I always get nervous and just froze, Ive tried to speak slowly but in general Im not the kind of person who speaks lot, I always say things straight to the point and dont extend. Ive struggle to speak about a topic because I dont know what else to say and there I start to get stuck, so, at tha point, is best to stop speaking rather than trying to make up words or nonsense sentences?

      Hello! I would recommend that you practice writing and speaking questions. This is because on the test, Duolingo asks about the same topics (school, travel, climate change, etc.) over and over. Arno's practice questions use the same topics. You will be able to reuse your ideas from one response in other responses, including on the test.

    • @ArnoLearning
      @ArnoLearning  Před 4 dny

      Hello! This is the most common issue with the DET. You have to really practice staying focused on the screen the whole time, especially while you are speaking. We often don't realize that we look away when we are speaking. I would recommend doing some practice questions in Arno and filming yourself. Then, watch the recording to see if and when you look away.
