- Let's take a Duolingo Practice English Test together @YourDETStudyBuddy.
The Duolingo English Test, is a medium to prove your ability to write, read, comprehend and communicate in English Language. The test practically takes about one hour and taking these practice tests improve your chances of scoring really high in the test.
If you intend to study abroad DET is a great option to prove your English Language prowess, it is very affordable and can be taken from the comfort of your home. You also get your result within 48 hours! Isn't that awesome? Is Duolingo effective? This may be your question, its very effective because it is accepted in 5000+ schools world wide.

Well, I checked after the test. Turns out it's a borrowed word and it's not widely used.
Prior to taking the practice test I had never heard the word "ignoration" .

To improve you need to keep practicing, focus on spelling words correctly, describing things in as much detail as possible and answering the questions appropriately. Typing faster and accurately will also help.

You'd have to create an account with Duolingo English Test to take the practice test. Go to their website at English test.duolingo.com and follow the prompts to create an account, after which you'd be able to take the practice test.

I think you still need to put a lot of practice in. You need to score higher in the practice test so you'd be certain of getting the actual score you need.

Well for starters, you need to practice more. Figure out the aspect of the test you seem to find difficult and focus a little more on improving on that aspect.

It is the new format. The practice test was updated before the actual test update which was on the 2nd of April, 2024.

I think you can, I read to myself during my own test. But I tried not to do it too much.
While doing that, make sure your gaze doesn't shift from your screen and look directly at your camera as frequently as possible.

I agree, it depends on the score you need to get. If it is within the range of 115-125 or lower, it is safe to take the test now but if not you need to study harder to increase your probable score on the practice test.

Don't be scared, with your practice test scores you should be able to get the score you need. And if you don't get the score you need on the first try, you can always try again.

@@fikrimuhammad7930 i noticed some very advanced lexical usage in fill in the blanks section. On a serious note, try to write faster in the writing sections and learn more advanced synonyms if you want to score above 130.
Is allowed to use contractions like don´t or wasn´t?
It's advisable to avoid them, they are informal forms of writing and the test requires formal forms of writing.

Hey joke I'm also planning to go to Ireland, I just took the test and I got 120, from what I'm hearing if you want to be very safe you need about 130. I think you need to try and improve

1. Try to use synonyms of words in the essay questions when answering them.
2. Always answer the questions asked.
3. Try to describe the images shown with as much detail as possible; speak about colors, posture, height, foreground and background details.
4. Read a lot more to have more words in your diction.

I'd advise you not to take the test yet. Study harder and practice more to increase your practice test scores. So you'd be certain of getting a higher score than you need.
Your current score is to close to what you need. It is better to get a higher score than risk getting a score lower than what you need.
