Today we tried the famous House of Kolor Kandy Concentrate in VooDoo Violet over top of ZTS HyperShift Pearl. We really enjoyed this project and hope you did too. Do you want to see us play with candies more in future videos?
We did this video for fun, there has been no long term testing when using this Kandy Concentrate with DYC products. We can not confirm the lifespan or longevity of the product, or if it is suitable for use on your specific car. Attempting a candy paint job is difficult and should not be considered a beginner-safe project.

I really like the look however I feel it muted the colour change. That negates the idea of using hyper shift. Keep up the experiments, it's the best part of the channel.

I agree as well. What I'd love to see (and I know it's a lot more work) is masking off part of the car before adding a candy over top. Something as simple as stripes... or as fabulously cliche as Flames. The contrast of a full hypershift and a muted hypershift against each other would be gorgeous.

It completely canceled out the hyper shift but the end result I unbelievably good. You stumbled on the sickest purple hues I’ve ever seen.
Agreed. Glad I’m not the only one that saw the tamping down of the hypershift. But yes, great looking purple. Not extra, just right.
It’s there, but it’s really subtle. I could only make it out around the headlights and wheels. I was thinking the same thing until they panned across the front, then I stopped, went back and looked real close. Nobody would notice it on the street, though.
Agreed. It appears the Kandy canceled out the green part of the shift. You can see just a tinge of green between the headlight and the wheel well. But the purple is still there, so it shifts from purple to violet. Still beautiful though.
So i think in this case the candy mostly took the teal tones away, but did enhance the purple tones. So successful I guess.
The intro was just Fonzies flex on us to show how wide and thicc hes gotten over 10 years lol. Congratz man!

I like how the Candy makes the hypershift more subtle on one hand, but on the other it's hard to see anything other than purple. Either way it looks pretty rad.
Am I the only one that had anxiety over the ten years of intros. It felt like a goodbye or worse a memorial. I was like oh no what happened. So glad it wasn’t that. Would like to see a blue candy over a bright pink some time if possible.
I did but then I knew they'd reached the million subs milestone and that's what it was probably about.
I think the candy over-powered the hypershift too much personally.
My wife wants me to ask if you'll do a hot pink with neon green pearl. Such as fierce pink with GT22 alien pearl. Thanks!

I 100% agree. It took away alot of the colors I was hoping to see in the end product. The base coat was 10x sexier than the end product. I love purple but it was just to much.
I think if Fonzie used a 1/4 of a can instead of 1/2 we might have still gotten the hypershift effect !
Fonzi, idea here. Next time, do a before and after so we can all see the difference with and without using House of Kolors after effects. I trust your products and I’ve been a dipper for 3 years now because of you, so ty 😁. Also, big congrats on a MILLION! You guys rock it every video. Keep it up!

The swirling look of that hyper-shift paint in the bucket at 3:08 looks like a color shifting spiral galaxy. That would look awesome as a painting!
Went from driveway videos to do it at home kits at the one million mark! Proud of this channel as I started watching when it was only just 72 of us watching. Keep it going *DYC* and make sure to keep them colors flowing!
Show us a video of you removing the dip and/or preparation for another dip. The same cars get dipped so much that I'm curious as to what happens in-between dips.

I like how the teal is muted down to a blued steel color. Feels like flames on metal fading to the most gorgeous purple I've ever seen.
Much preferred the ZTS on its own but still love the purple - pink shift. I've watched like 15 DYC videos over the last few days and subscribed after the first one. Really would love to see a purple - black shift 💜🖤
I remember the driveway videos!, now this is 1 million well deserved and earned. This man built this company and now a huge part of car culture from the ground up. All his staff is always a pleasure to speak with either on the phone or email!. Time flies when you're having fun! Hope to visit head quarters in FL one day.... one day.

I started my dip journey only a few years ago after I had been vinyl wrapping my vehicles...the first video that someone shared with me and got me hooked was the pearl bomb video and ever since I joined this community I've never looked back and have watched this channel continue to grow!! It's awesome to see you reach that milestone and hopefully we can see another Milly within the next year or two 💪💪

I agree. It did mute some of the yellow and green we usually see with hypershift pearl.
The hypershift is okay but personally the Voodoo Violet Candy is gorgeous! I love deep dark purple and this one gets me! Would love to see it stand alone.

The colour and look you achieved is off the charts. If I was to do this in paint for a customer here in Canada, I would have to charge around $10k for that paint job, and take about 1 week to complete it properly. This is why I'm trying to get more people up here on board with DYC instead of standard paint

THIS IS FIRE!! PROLLY THE BEST DIP SO FAR. Takes away the intensity of the hypershift but in a good way but keeping the shift still alive with the candy lustre jeeezzzz this is lit

It's so BEAUTIFUL. I've been watching for a bit now, I'm the person that cant decide on something until I see it and give my own evaluation. I've been trying to decide what colors would be good...this, I would say, is PERFECT! I LOVE WHAT Candy coats can do and this was a really good blending of the different technologies. THIS is the difference between DIY and PROFESSIONAL. Knowledge is power!
That color looks amazing, it brings so much more depth into the colors. It would look even better with some brighter bronze wheels or dark copper wheels. Next do a candy green

Of all of the dips I've seen you do, this is definitely the one I'd want on my car. I'd love to see what it would look like the other way around, using the voodoo violet as a base coat, with ZTS in the clear coat.
I think this is a perfect execution of what you were going for. The subtlety of the shift just moves to the edges of the car as you walk around it. I also think the camera doesn't do it justice, but if you look along the side skirts and bottom of the bumpers from the standing up perspective the shift is there and it is beautiful. The whole car still shifts but the shift is more blue/purple and the yellow has been moved to the edges of angles. Well done!
I would like to see some sort of red/orange House of Kolor pearl sprayed over this hypercolor to see what happens if you focus on the other end of the spectrum.

Just going to be honest, I feel the hypershift got muted a bit.
But. This is a sick color. I wonder if maybe a lower ratio of concentrate to clear would give you more of a tint coat.

Congrats on 1M! This Candy coat kinda covered all the green and the hot pink to orangish color shift I liked in the base color. But for just a paint with shifting purples.... it is beautiful!

Still shifting green to blue to fuschia, gorgeous, drop dead gorgeous. I love it. The rear quarter shot is unbelievable!
I see comments here about muting the hypershift flip, bit I'm not seeing it. It still shifts, it's just made the aggressive green much more blue-ish, and deepened the purple. And on that note, I LOVE it. This is an awesome result in my book. Only thing I'm curious about would be this purple over a gold or coppery pearl for a more traditional candy paint job.

Congratulations on a million, man, you earned it. This experiment was definitely a win in my book and I'd love to see more of this type of test. You described the effect perfectly when you said you wanted a sort of lens of purple over the Hypershift. This is going to create some crazy effects. As a glassblower, I work with layering transparent colors to create amazing effects a single color just can't give. We have an effect we call "Serendipity" that's transparent yellow over a jewel red over white. I'd love to see you do something like that. Start with a white base, add a few coats of ZTF Hypershift and then a House of Kolor candy yellow on top. I bet it would look *amazing* and it would definitely be something you've never seen before. Perhaps try it on a speed shape and see how it might look.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who saw this intro as "from wimp to ripped" 😂😂😂 in all seriousness from 1 to 1 million you've always been a stand up man and stood behind your product, from all the hate and ridicule to the donut media fiasco all the way to a million. You never lashed out or called out anyone, but showed every hater plasti-dip is more than a shotty product, and instead of going in on the donut media guys you reached out and helped them better understand and how to use your product, the mark of a real man and business owner. I know I don't know you personally and you'll probably never see this comment, but I just want you to know that you're genuinely an amazing, stand-up man with nothing but integrity and respect and your passion for your product and your willingness to help, even those that bash and hate on you/your product is something we can all learn from. I pray that you, your family, and your business continues to grow and prosper, that the right doors will open for you and your business to continue to grow, that the right people will come into your life to help bring the dip game to bigger and more amazing levels. This is a slick color. Love the shine from the candy coats. Definitely want to see more.
I know some people don't have nearly as good color vision, but I can completely see a big difference. There is a much subtler blue, and more purples, but the hypershift isn't drowned out by the kandy. It's awesome =D

I’ve often thought that the mixing, pouring, and spraying portions of your videos would almost make great ASMR videos. They’re very hypnotic and mesmerizing, especially with the accompanying music. Makes it quite satisfying to watch the videos in full.

I love the outcome. The candy coat cancelled out the orange tones I didn't care for in the original hypershift. I'd drive a car with this dip applied to the outside, no questions asked!
Looks amazing. You can still see the shift (although changed) and the intense violet is gorgeous.
Although I would rather still have the green in the ZTS as I like the green to purple transition it still is great.
I love this Candy over Shift colors.
It seems you can enhance the color you want and it gives it a fantastic finish in the process.

Another great color experiment! I think it definitely toned down the color shifting aspect of the Hypershift, and pretty much eliminated any green tones from it. But the extra violet looks fantastic along with the increased glossy effects. Another home run 😎

Wow that candy over powered the hyper shift. I also could not get over how dull the tires and wheels are. Produce a product that can be sprayed on the rubber to make it look wet, like some black magic tire shine.

That looks amazing. The more I look at those videos, the more I want to learn how to do it for my car. I figured that the ones on this video will not be cheap and needs a bit more of a advance knowledge of dipping your car first. But with this crazy colors, it's hard not to start with the fancier kits first than the basic. I'm loving those candy setups (I always prefer glossy finish). I also am wondering if you are going to use those candy colours of that fancy mirror finish you did a few videos ago? Also finally, congradulation on your Million subscriber. I'm new to the channel (now 6 months at least) so I haven't watched those older videos of you paiting your car your garage, but it's always nice to see where you started and how much things has improved over the years.
