  • Can a rechargeable hand warmer replace standard hand warmers and is it worth the weight and space it takes up? I review the OCOOPA Rechargeable Hand Warmer after having used it for the last 12 months. Watch the video and hear my thoughts.
This charger is water resistant by IP45 standards, dust resistant and the manufacture says it's the most durable hand warmer ever. Though, I think a hot rock might still be the champion for durability.

And here’s a link to a camouflage version that seems to be really popular:

Ooooooh, that looks cool! As much as I hate being cold that seems amazing! Also, it’s nice that it is multifunctional.

I relate with you there about not wanting to be cold! This helps take the edge off a little bit, but it’s really nice that it can be used for something else when it’s not being used as a hand warmer. Otherwise it’s a waste of space for the times that it’s just sitting there. but it can certainly charge a phone well and I’ve used it for a couple of my lights when I video at home. One of the lights goes where there’s not an electrical outlet and I’ve use the hand warmer for that. I’m a nerd. 😊

This is a great review, and I’m getting ready to order one! Or two! Thank you. 😊

I’m really glad you liked it! Whenever I do any product review, but there will probably be more, they are only things that I’ve used that I know work and know it will help someone in specific ways. I think you’ll love it, I love mine and appreciate it more the longer it keeps working and hasn’t failed on me at all. So many things these days don’t last but it’s lasted a year which is a good start and hopefully it last for many more years, but it’s been used a lot, I have things that don’t last past a few uses that cost more than this. Thanks for going through the link to order them!

Bought three units and one failed to charge even after changing various cables and chargers. So much for Ocoopa's quality control. Will never buy from them again.

That’s terrible, I really don’t think that’s at all typical from the friends and family who I’ve got then for and who have purchased them but maybe it’s more common than I realize. I’ll check the reviews again and see if something bad is going on. I don’t want to recommend bad products at all, my experiences were wonderful and still is and the reviews were also very good when I decided to make the video. But things can change, I really hope quality control has not dropped off like so many other products I’ve used for years.

One other thing and you probably tried this already but just in case. When I got mine I had to really press the cable in hard because the rubber around it was so tight. Once I did that a couple of charges it’s been fine. It seems like a tight spot where the cable goes in.

@@Traveling_Tree_Dr I got a continuous blue blinking light which never changed even after 8 hours of charging.

Are the batteries replacable ?. Did you hear back from company ?

    • @Traveling_Tree_Dr
      @Traveling_Tree_Dr  Před 10 měsíci

I don’t think the batteries are replaceable, I don’t see a way it could be opened and they don’t have replaceable batteries for sale. Donie say it’s not replaceable.
I did hear back but he response wasn’t terribly clear. Here is what they wrote.
“Please know that all our rechargeable hand warmers have undergone strict safety tests, using high-quality materials and batteries with overcharge protection, overcurrent protection, and overtemperature protection functions to ensure safety during use. If the temperature of the product itself is over high, it will automatically cool down for 3-5 minutes, then it starts heating up again. Because of this, we will feel the temperature is not stable or sometimes it seems like it has stopped working.”
That wasn’t quite my question but it makes me think it knows how hot it is( possibly). I need to do another test with it in a pocket of a jacket and see if I can get longer. It’s a pretty big difference from 15 hours.
Thank you for asking, I’m going to try it tonight.

@MrDerksy I picked up the zippo 6 hr. Lasts maybe 2 hrs.
I used to live in the u.p of mi the gas jon-e will last 12 /14 hrs lots an lots of heat they have different sizes I like the smaller one as they will fit in pockets.. there giant produces lots of heat . I don't recommend inside a jack though the fume come up an bother my eyes. But if it's a survival situation I could do it. Thanks for your review .

Well maybe I need to do a comparison review. It was recommended to me yesterday that I do more comparison reviews, not just a review on one product. This would be a good one.

I don’t know if you saw but I did an updated review of the amount of time it lasts. It would last much longer in normal situations. I’m using it now and it was on level one in my jacket pocket and then straight to my sleeping bag on level 1 and 2. It’s been on over 11 hours! I only got 8.5 originally because I took it out and sat it on a chair for some of the test. That messed the experiment up, I should have considered that more.
