I really admire your strength. Stay positive and keep up the awesome content.
Thanks for the support! I appreciate it!
@@JeffreyLin hi. Do you suffer with eczema. I have had eczema since birth. I'm now 59. The nearest I have got to a cure is the inner skin of the Banana. Rub it well into your skin and leave for thirty minute, then wash off. It's amazing. Good luck from Ireland
Thanks for the suggestion. Yes I have one of the most severe cases on eczema on the planet. Unfortunately, my eczema is part of a very complex immune issue where I’m allergic to everything (literally) including bananas. Thanks for the suggestion, maybe it’ll help others who come across your comment
@@JeffreyLin thank you so much for posting this and teaching me. I feel like I learned a lot and this is very useful as I suffer from sinusitis and eczema as well, I am fortunate to not have severe flare ups of eczema but when I have bad flares I use “Vanicream hydrocortisone” cream and it’s been helpful for itchiness and redness.
Anyways, I learned a lot from your video and will definitely be looking into to getting these! I’m sorry you are going through this every day, thank you for using your story to help those around you 🙌🏽 you are awesome! Keep make more!
I suffer from allergies, and I don’t trust any online review unless it’s from another allergy sufferer! Thank you for the video!
May the Lord bless you and heal you; and keep you in His care.
Thank you! 🙏🏼
God hates him
In Jesus’ name, amen! 🙏🏼
I came across this video after searching for best air purifiers. I was expecting more of a comparison between several different air purifiers, but I have to say your sincerity given your condition is so very welcome. Also your expertise and research is also evident. In the end, an air purifier is really not much more than a large fan pushing air through a filter, so your comments on the importance on the type of filter being used, specifically HEPA filters, makes a lot of sense, but the other end of it is more of those less important aspects of quality: noise, durability, customer service of the company, etc. However, I think those other elements are implicit in your review.
All in all, your video has made me really consider the Honeywell, and made it mandatory that I get a True HEPA filter model without ionic cleaning. Thanks a lot.
Hey Zermelo, thanks for your comment! I’m glad you found the video helpful. There’s actually other HEPA air purifiers I have but they’re a bit more expensive so I started with the filter that I thought was the best for people with a limited budget. I also have the Honeywell 600B HEPA air purifier which has better carbon pre-filters and lasts longer. I also have the IQair. I’ll try to do reviews of these soon.
@@JeffreyLin Great! Love your videos
czcams.com/video/uA8pu_HKjjo/video.html
@@JeffreyLin Which one to buy?
My fav is the Honeywell HPA600b. If that’s too expensive, the Honeywell hpa200 or hpa300 is pretty good.
If you’ve never used an air filter these are great. czcams.com/users/postUgkx_dppjvjF8BYEmPSDTcgCUdRsgWYLXNHN I ended up with three after starting out with one. The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!
I would like to thank you for sharing your knowledge. I am 55 years old and have suffered from allergies and eczema all my life. They told me my eczema was stress related but it only occurred during change of seasons, thank you for clearing up what I always thought, my allergies and my eczema went hand in hand. I suffer most during spring and fall...the older I get the less claritin and zyrtec and flonase are no longer working...I cannot afford to replace my air conditioner (it is 20 years old) and we live in Las vegas, I know it is causing tons of problems for me. So I will buy a air purifier for my bedroom...hopefully this will save me from sneezing and running nose all night long. I am truly exhausted and at my wits end....thank you for your help.
Hey Jackie, glad to get your comment and to connect with you! My eczema and my asthma have improved miraculously since I started the new treatment Dupixent over 2 years ago. It’s not a steroid or immunosuppresant. It simply tweaks our immune so our skin and breathing becomes normal. Normal just means our skin will still react when there’s danger, but won’t overreact if there’s no reason to. See if you can try it based on either eczema or asthma requirements: czcams.com/video/I63OBE7u10k/video.html
@@JeffreyLin I will bring that up to my ENT doc next appt. Thank you! I just ordered my air filter with your link, hope it works! I wish I could replace my ac unit but that is just not in the cards right now! Some day!! Stay strong and stay safe during this pandemic!!
Hope the air filter helps! If not, u can return it to amazon. I also have a more expensive Honeywell model HPA600B, but didn’t recommend it in the video because of the cost. While both are HEPA, the 600B has better carbon pre-filter for chemicals & odors.
Isn't that annoying? Doctors always passing everything off as "stress". I know stress is really bad for health, but there's usually something else going on that the stress is making worse. I hope you feel better!
@Jackie Deg when zyrtecs used to work effectively, how often did you take them? Do you take them everyday, or each time a flare up happens, or only on severe flareups? I'm in my 30s now, and hearing your story I worry that one day my zyrtecs won't be working anymore and that would be agony! I used to limit my use only on severe days, but lately I kinda get tired of doing that, and using them on milder symptoms as well. But if you've been using it as a routine, and later affect their efficacy in the long run, maybe I should use them less.
I'm just looking for a good air filter but I appreciate how in depth this video is.
Thank you for this video. My asthma and allergies have been acting up a little more right now :( wish you the best and let’s all stay safe 🙏🏽❤️
Thank you so much! I am a new mom, my son has severe eczema. He is always scratching and at night it gets worse. Because I have allergies to pollen and dust myself I know it has to be the air in my house that just won’t help him get better. I am just now learning about air filter but considering the prices, marketing scams, and my lack of knowledge I have been hesitant to buy. This video has helped so much. Thank you and I hope you continue to do well.
Thanks!
This review is the most amazing thing I’ve seen in a long time
Thanks! Hope it helps
Thank you and I wish you all the best.
Thank you for sharing this review and your story.
Thank you so much for this video.
Thank you, hope you stay healthy. I have a levoit air purifier. I had that too, had to wrap in plastic
Wow, thank you for sharing and contributing your story and your research in this. My allergy/asthma suffering has increased severely lately so looking for videos on purifiers brought me here. Much respect to you, and thanks again!
Thanks for making this video, it helped me pick the right filter for my pollen allergies.
Hope you feel better!
This was hugely helpful! Thanks so much for the education!
Glad you found it helpful! Hope you find one that works for you.
Thank you! This was very helpful!
Glad to hear! Have a great week!
Thank you for making this video, I really appreciate how you broke down everything that we really needed to know to make a educated decision.
Glad it was helpful Renda!
Thanks for this info! Stay positive!
God Bless.
Wow, sorry to hear about what you have to go through. GOD Bless You
Hey Jmac! Thanks for the support! Means a lot!
I have been running a Whirlpool Whispure Air Purifier (Model AP51030K) every night in my bedroom for 11 years now, it is the best air purifier I've owned. I got one for my mom too. I vacuum off the carbon filter weekly to remove the cat hair, I find that makes both of the filters last longer. It makes a good seal unlike my cheaper Holmes (not recommended) that I had in college, the air and crud went right past the filter, I could tell because of the dust that collected on the fan past the filter. The Whirlpool is still clean inside past the filter, so it is catching all of the stuff!
I already had asthma, but now I have a much worse fibrotic lung disease post-Covid 😕 I survived spring, so that is a good sign. If I'm feeling extra crappy, I close myself in my room and run that air cleaner on "turbo".
Oh man thanks so much for putting your trusted and expert although unfortunate experience out there for others. Wishing you lots of good vibes, steadiness with all the irritation inc mental. I have severe respiratory issues and really appreciate what you’ve put out here. All the best
This helped me so much. Thank you thank you thank you!
You're so welcome!
Super clear and insightful research - thanks.
Thank you for this contribution and good luck with everything!
Thanks for the support!
Thank you so much for all the information!!!
Glad to help
thanks! I just moved to a new area and the pollen is outrageous (I commented before I saw the end, hang in there dude.. you're an inspiration)
Thanks man!
thanks for your video friend, you are helping people. my son is not as allergic but he does suffer in spring (me too) so i am getting two HPA300. Thanks
Thank you
I will be praying for you mr Jeffrey…for your health to get better..thank you for this wonderful video..god bless you
Thanks Jeffrey, i got sick from house mold, we moved in a new condo which was filled with dust, insulation particles and voc`s. Was there for 2 days and my eyes and nose were killing me. We got a Philips air purifier AC2939/10 with true hepa and activated carbon, saved my life. Now the air inside is better than it is outside
nice work. thank you
Thank you for the information. Also thanks for the help your providing to others that needs the message. Thank you!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Jeffrey, thank you for the great information on the Honeywell. I currently have a Homedic Air Purifier it does a pretty decent job, however, I am always in the search to buy another purifier so I can have at least two good purifiers per room. You have mentioned the cost of the filter, which is actually cheaper than my current Homedic one. One thing that I wish that these air purifiers have is a remote control. That way I won't have to get up and turn its speeds when I am in my office. Thanks again for the great information!
Thank you for this review. This helped so much! Best to you.
Glad it was helpful!
I keep being told that the air doctor is a good one would anyone happen to know anything about it thank you
Just been made aware that a lot of these air purifiers only clean the air within a few feet of them. Indipendant tests show that the air quality reading is double and some than what the unit display is reading on the air cleaner. Ill keep you posted on more findings my friend 👍
Totally agree. That’s why I mention using a unit that’s rated for a space much larger than your room. Also, the direction and strength of the fan affects the airflow path. These Honeywell ones I show are pretty good because they move air in a circular motion instead of straight. If you use it in a room smaller than the rating, it’ll do a fantastic job of cleaning all the air in that room.
You are an inspiration to all .. Thanks
Thanks for your constant support! Means a lot
Thanks for all the information!
Glad it helps!
Thank you so much
Glad to help!
Wishing you to be strong and get better!!!
Thanks Marry!
Thanks. I’m researching air filters and your information was excellent especially knowing you have an engineering background.
Hope it helps!
Thank you for sharing this video, I wish you the best 💚
Thanks Carlos! Hope this video helped you breathe better
Wow! Be strong 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you very much for the video!! I've been doing my own research and I am glad to come across your video. Is it possible to post another link for the True HEPA Filter? The link in the description is not working for me.
Hey, just search for true HEPA filter for the specific air purifier model you want. I’ll try to uodate the link soon
Great information, thanks for sharing.
Air purifier, humidifier, roomba vacuum and steam cleaner really had a huge effect on my quality life. These expensive machines even SAVED ME MONEY because I needed less rescue medications.
Thank you so much for all the info!
Glad it helped!
VERY HELPFUL THANK YOU!
Glad to help!
Wow thank you so much 😊❤️
Glad to help!
Thanks, bro. Much more useful than the sponsored reviews/ads in the results.
Thank you for the information, I appreciate it and I truly wish you the best~
Thanks man!
This was an extremely helpful review from someone who unfortunately understands the impact of bad air.
Get well soon and keep giving us great reviews
Im just starting my research into air polution within the home. My son has Asthma and alergies so anything that will help him (especialy in the evnings). I've worked in class 100 cleanrooms before and i've heard about the clean enviroment in the healthcare proffesion. Love from across the pond 👍
Thanks for stopping by and saying hi! Also check out my allergy mask guide if you haven’t already (czcams.com/video/xOJF9-TNbAg/video.html ). It seems kids who grow up in big cities tend to get asthma and allergies vs kids who grow up in rural areas. Not sure if it’s the pollution in big cities or our lack of exposure to more nature that would stimulate our own immune system to grow correctly.
Thank you so much been suffering a few weeks brother moved in with his dog and having asthma attacks breathing issues everyday been to the doctors several times nothing will work not even asthma pills I was prescribed too I'm a non smoker too even my inhailer won't work just purchased this praying this will help me out I live in a house with mold in the basement junk from the family living here that was surrounded by cats may all be in the air also it's an old house carpet is 32 years old too can't wait to give a review on here after using it for a week keep the good work up just liked and subscribed :)
Hey man, sorry to hear how rough it’s been. These filters should help, but also if you’re surrounded by so many triggers, you’ll feel much better if you’re able to move to a clean and new environment. These filters are like a bandaid, but you need to solve as many triggers at the source of the problem. I know it’s hard to make big life changes though. I also have to use these masks on certain days: czcams.com/video/xOJF9-TNbAg/video.html Best of luck and keep me posted.
If u really want to come from this problem comment me below
Hey there... I am also an allergy sufferer and since quarantining for so long... my dust allergy has become out of control to the point where somedays... It's so hard to breath. My essential oil Diffuser has been my air purifier up till now and it works great but now it's time I enter the big leagues! Lol I am concerned about these running up the electric bill however. How badly do these running 24/7 affect the electric bill every month if at all? Also... would you say the hpa 200 is the best of the best to you? I really enjoy your videos... you have been a blessing!
Great video. Keep it up and stay strong! Hope your condition improves!
Thanks man!
I am so happy I came across this video while searching for air purifiers for my 8year old daughter. She has asthma, severe allergies and severe eczema. We are taking her to an allergist soon to figure out what all she is allergic to. Investing in some air purifiers and hope it helps her some or alot. Loosing sleep bc of her scratching so badly at night. Do you use a humidifier? I have the old school honeywell Kaz humidifier, wondering if I should look into a different version or if these are good to use. So deeply sorry you have to go through this daily.
So sorry to hear your daughter has both eczema and asthma. I was born with both as well. Humidifiers help if the cause of asthma is dryness causing irritation. If asthma is caused by some allergic reaction, humidifiers won’t help as much. There’s lots of causes so it’s hard for me to diagnose which it is she has
Thank you Jeffery. You're not alone in this fight. I appreciate you.
Thanks for the support man! Means a lot! 🙌
Out of AirDoctor, Nuwave, Dyson, and Medify what would you recommend? I’m using it for living room/kitchen area? Hopefully it helps with my migraines and trouble breathing, thank you for the advice.
very very helpful. thank you!
Hope you’ll have cleaner air and feel better
very good informations. I've heard of the Winix 5300-2. It too uses true HEPA and other prefilters. What do you think about UV sanitizer? Thanks
Great job with the information thank you so much
Glad to help!
This was very useful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Mr. Lin,
Thank you for sharing your condition and turning a negative into a strength. It is very commendable in what you are doing. I for one was not aware of all these specific air filter issues and how they affect us. I trust you as a subject matter expert with your lifelong battle. Your knowledge is assisting me to protect my family members who have increased medical issues, but nothing like your level. Please continue to drive on with sharing your knowledge and doing other great things. Again, thank you and God bless you.
Hi Mr. Mendiaz, thanks so much for the kind words and support. Hope this video was helpful! Be strong when dealing with medical issues and stay safe as best you can.
What a legend. Thanks for summarizing this for us. Doing a lot of people a huge favor!
Thanks!
Thanks for a great video. Based on your recommendation, I purchased a Honeywell HPA300. I wish you well.
Hope it helps! I also have the Honeywell HPA600b. The air is fresher but it’s also much more expensive, so I didn’t include it in this video. If you decide you need something better than the HPA300 and can return it, the HPA600b is a good alternative to try.
thank you for keeping it basic
Hope this helps!
Damn ...
Sorry you go thru this in life man,
AND Thank you for your fight and helping us decide thru your guidance
Thank you so much for the helpful video!
You are so welcome!
Thanks for making videos!
Hope this helps!
Wow god bless you
God bless you Jeffrey🙏🏽💙
Thanks for the video !
Glad to help!
Thank you for this review. And stay strong my friend
Great to hear from you. Thanks for the support!
Thank you so much: my neighbours woodburner is causing a severe reaction, burning eyes, chest tightness and heart fluttering... finding a suitable air purifier is a must.
Oh and how long do you keep them on i a day and how often areyou changing the filters?
Thank you so much for making this video, it was really informative and helpful. I hope your videos reach more people, and that you stay strong.
Thank you so much!
This is a genuinely amazing review!
Thanks!
I wast recently diagnosed with asthma and severe allergies so this is exactly what I needed after a harsh winter!
Also make sure you get enough humidity in the air. Lungs need moisture, so when it gets too dry with the heater or cold air, your lungs may get irritated, flare up, and cause asthma.
I use a 20 inch box fan and 2 furnace filters on it. 1 11 merve and a 1 2400 strength furnace filter.
They're way better than a HEPA filter. I'm probably going to add a uvc light inside the Fan and a metal bracket so the filters can slide in. I'll probably add a carbon material layer between the 2 furnace filyers.
Right now the filters fit perfectly and they hold via the air pressure.
You should CZcams "box fan filter test / results).
The pros were saying its basically the best you can get ( filter wise and money-wise) when compared to the big brands.
stay strong.. and you are right.. these cost less than medications and ER visits
thanks man! you too!
Good stuff!
Thanks!
Thank you so much for your genuine review
glad it helped!
Very very good video and information. I’m gonna order the Honeywell you have. Thank yiu
Cool! Glad this helped.
Could tou please do an updated video?
Thanks for sharing, Jeffrey. Stay strong!
I just ordered the Awair and can't wait to check how my air purifiers are performing. I have a few smaller size purifiers and haven't gotten around to buying a large one. What do you think about using two smaller units in a large room? For example, would two 150 CADR units be equivalent to one 300 CADR unit?
Thanks! 2x 150 CADR isn’t as good as a 300 CADR, but if that’s all you have, it will work ok. I don’t think you need to buy another air purifier.
EXCELLENT BRO 👍💖💖💖
Thanks!
Thank you I might get the white honey well
Ok good luck! Buy it from amazon or somewhere where you can return it if it doesn’t work for you.
Hey Lin,
Thank you so much for your opinion, it helped me big time.
I would like to purchase Winix Tower XQ instead of HPA600B
Hope you are doing better sir, Blessing
Glad to help! Let us know if the Winix works well!
Thank you for the valuable information. Take care
Glad it helped!
What it would be better to use UV-C lamp inside the Air Purifier machines along with the multi air filters?!
Thank you so much for this video. Could I ask what type of sheets and pillowcases (the material) you have found stops them from sticking to your skin which causes more damage? Thanks
Hi Tamara, yeah the "velcro" effect of dry eczema skin tugging on sheets or sticking the the wounds is a horrible experience. I don't think there's a perfect fabric. ..if you have dry eczema that latches onto the sheets, i feel certain types of cotton fabric is best (you'll have to touch it and see how it feels). If you have wet eczema that sticks to sheets, then synthetic fabrics that don't have much fibers sticking out might be better.
I just stumbled across your channel. Thank you for sharing your personal health issues. I had a friend with eczema and I felt terrible for him. I wish you all the best!
Hey Mark, thanks for the comment and support! Eczema really is like living in hell...whole body burning all the time.
@@JeffreyLin My friend said the same thing to me. He says it's so painful he cries in the shower. It pains me to know there are people suffering every day. I can only imagine you wake up praying it was just a bad dream. =( I actually have my own health problem with my heart. I have PAC and PVC's. Basically, my heartbeats skip or pause to put it in simple terms. If I work out I feel like I'm going to pass out. I wish we lived in a perfect world.
Tell your friend with the eczema to rub the inner skin of the Banana onto the affected area for a few weeks. Amazing. Good luck from Ireland
I found HEPA filter to be especially effective on particles up to 1 micron. With cheap air quality monitors you can see already particle counts from 0.3 up to 10 micron. Not sure how good pollens are filtered which are bigger. Also it should not be forgotten to keep an eye on TVOC, HCHO, O2 and CO2 levels. I found an air filter to be not very efficient on TVOC more on smells. The lifetime of HEPA filters seem to be more limited by smell, not in filtration because it traps fumes in it. I got one HEPA filter which ran almost every day for many many hours and it still filters particles but has an unbearing smell.
Yes, the TVOC, HCHO and other fumes and chemicals are important to filter out as well. The charcoal pre-filters are what captured these. The HEPA only captures particles. There are a variety of charcoal pre-filters and the better the technology for these pre-filters, the better the odors and fumes are filtered out
@@JeffreyLin have you ever considered moving to less poluted areas? Even in US there should be clean areas. I have also found that if you keep windows closed too much that you can eliminate particles by a great amount but oxygen, TVOC, HCHO, CO2 and many other things get even more problematic. When there is pollen outside, it maybe not best idea to close windows all day, especially in small rooms. I was doing this all year, slept also with closed windows and my health got even worse. My 2 air monitors have helped me a lot to analyse the air. I wish i had a kind of "central airway system" in the flat but those tend also to be infested by bacteria and mold i guess.
Hi currious. What is your diet like?
Hi thank you for the input on the Honeywell true heap allergen remover. I got the medium size but my room it's pretty big should I get the large size instead does it make a difference. Ty
The large size will recirculate and clean the air more times per minute. It comes down to what you can afford, but the bigger, the better.
New sub. Great overview and video.
