I would say that the 2001 Honda NSR, 2002 and 2003 Honda rc211v, the 2004/2005 and 2008/2009 Yamaha M1s (winning bikes) are the most legendary, especially the 2001 Honda (first big championship win and last win from the 500 era), the 2002 Honda (first motogp win) and the 2004 (first win with yamaha) and 2009 Yamaha (last win with Yamaha). Honorable Mentions: the 2006 Yamaha M1 and the 2015 M1. The 2011 Ducati Desmosedici, even though it was not a good season (2012 either), is iconic since it was a dream come true for many to see Rossi competing with a brand from his country. But this is all just my opinion 👍.

I still remember the yellow Nastro Azzuro Aprilia in 99 and the yellow Yamaha in 2000 like it was yesterday. I've always wanted him to go back to that color scheme on his bike. The colour was what made him stand out the first time I discovered motogp.
Then his skills made me fan for life.
Wish I was a kid again and among other things, see Rossi race in his prime again.

So true. He had an emotional connection with that bike as deep as any he ever rode probably. And, given the circumstances, coming from Honda, beating out the new Honda rider in the first race. Epic.

The reason why he doesnt own a honda because he hates them, thats why he left them, honda said rossi was good because of the bike, not because of him.
