**Be sure to check out our newest segment on DKDKTV - D-K NEWS!! where we dig deeper into the juiciest topics in KPOP
    Here's the link: czcams.com/video/IocPpYt15yo/video.html
So my interpretation was the virgin/never get laid version. Here’s a better one:
While exporting my video I think I came up with a better interpretation of the song. This song is not her ACTUALLY saying that she has to go - She’s just too shy to say she wants to spend the night with him. (As you can see from the lines of the chorus “but I can’t be anymore honest past this point”) Yet inside she’s waiting for the guy to stop her from going, and take the lead and spend the night with her. In the bridge she says in the corner of her heart she’s latching on to a string - while initially I interpreted this as latching on to her reason so she can go home - now looking back it looks more like she’s waiting for the guy to take the lead and stop her from going yet the guy isn’t responding. Thus the attraction is running out of fuel and she’s latching on to her last hope that the guy will be brave enough to take the lead. She also alludes to this in the bridge saying ‘Baby don’t want to be alone’ and ‘I’m really trying to make you see’. She’s making it obvious to the guy that she wants to stay, but the guy isn’t making his move and she’s becoming frustrated.
Obviously there are no such thing as ‘correct’ interpretations, but I feel this one feels closer to her intended meaning than my original video. Either way it’s kinda unfortunate to see women depicted as very passive figures, though that may be the reality of dating in Korea.

Where she was changed from a maid to a “beautiful princess” look by her fairy godmother so she can go to a party she was forbidden to go to. However she has to leave once the clock stricks 12’ o’clock because everything will go back to normal. So she has to run from the ball away from her love interest she meets there. @@BusyAngel9999 Actually it really is tho. @Sumaia Hossain is correct. Why is that women and only women "need to be protected"? Like honestly. Parents with this mentality (and this reasoning) are sexist and it's something that happens extremely often in Hispanic culture too. Like the men can get away with anything and everything but we must be protected and can't bring shame upon the family with our actions. It's stupid. If something is going to happen to me or anyone else out there the fucking time of day is not going to stop it.
A healthy way to coexist would be to just let your parents know where you are so they do not worry and let them know when you're coming home. If you're staying in their house and want to be respectful but not controlled like your freaking 12 that should be more than sufficient. Anyone would worry about you when they see you gone for hours and it's like 4 am or something crazy so you can't expect just cause you're 28 or whatever to do what you want. You're not that grown if you still living at home. Just sayin, mutual respect as adults even for your parents is a thing.

People over here having nice healthy discussions about sexism and how to coexist as adults and this is what you open your mouth to say.... 🤷🏾‍♀️. Your end point makes my point exactly. Why is it the woman's responsibility to shoulder everything? Like who you think is getting on top of themselves? Men need to be held accountable too and parents need to hold their male children accountable and stop blaming the female children. Guys can do whatever but the women have to face the music? Even DK thinks this is BS cause newsflash it is.
Do you think those things don't happen in other communities? How is that related to this conversation at hand or solve to make your point in anyway? Anyone with any type of common sense would be able to see that sexism in how male and female children are treated does not correlate to your points?? Other factors obviously are at play like economics of each Hispanic country, access to affordable programs, religious influence (as that will change whether sex education is even taught effectively), etc. I would continue but it seems it would be wasted on you since you're not even trying to hear another person's perspective and are speaking on something you THINK you know so much about. Dude. It's not insane to not have sex the first year of dating. There are lots of people who hold off on sex for many different reasons. It has tons of good points. The truth is is that we can choose ways too live that are healthier and protect us and protect our goals and vision for our life. Sexual attraction is very powerful. I have many friends who did not want the distraction, risks and blinders that sex can bring (in America pregnancy, std's and lots of personal pain and destruction are common stories that all start with sex). Sex might feel great and grow intimacy and connection between people but if you want to know their character and compatibility with you and your life and dreams you gotta get to know some one and all that sexual activity can be blinder. I have a close friend who in her thirties had an unplanned pregnancy and ended up completely giving up her life and values and goals to stay with a man who offers no stability and care just lies and neglect with another family constantly bringing toxicity to their relationship. That curfew can be protective and a good excuse to listen to that little voice of wisdom that can protect. I think anyone who has sex thinking sex can just be fun with no strings attached are either lying to themselves, already numbed and broken to sex's ability to connect partners and no longer function as a whole person who can wholely connect or lacks wisdom and understanding as they look at the world and looks at actions and effects. Reading this I can see I am being really harsh but I have seen so many people reap the consequences of a cavelier attitude towards sex and end up with hearts broken or unplanned pregnancy or the pain of an abortion or an STD. Some accountability, protection and boundaries can be so healthy and wise. Sex and sexual attraction are more powerful then we acknowledge and also potentially more treacherous.

So it talks about how now it's too late,it's already 12 o'clock and the day is gonna end, meaning that their lives are going to end and they feel regret that they didn't enter in a relationship when they had the time.

I like curfew lol :)))) And Im a girl and Im in my 20s because my mom is a very reasonable (also very strict) woman and as I listen to her reasons I realize that at the end of the day, my parents are just worried for me. And not everyone has parents that care for them so I want to treasure my parent's feelings ^^ Also, Im not very fond staying outside late, not because of the drugs or the sex thing but it's bad for your health if you stay up late and you should really treasure your health, that's your biggest gift in life. Of course, every boyfriend and girlfriend want to spend a lot times together but there's a limit to everything. Im sure both of them want to grow old together if they love each very much, so remember to try to live as healthy as possible ^^
And if the family has both a daughter and a son, I agree that both of them should follow the curfew NOT JUST THE GIRL !!!

I think the chorus talking about having to go because it's midnight might actually be a little connected to Chung-ha's past living in the US. She lived here when she was just a little kid and at the time Disney was huge in the States; maybe the lyrics are a reference to Cinderella? I'm sure Koreans know who Cinderella is even if they never lived in the US (lol), but maybe Chung-ha's extra exposure to the character was large enough that it influenced her lyrics ?

In india its also exactly the same situation ..especially for women...I am a 24 year old woman ..I have a curfew for maximum 9 pm for summer..and if winter ..like now ..its 7..pm
If i take 2 extra minutes from my curfew time..my mom will start calling me in every 1 minute..
Its not quite necessarily because parents think that their children will start doing drugs..its just the safety issues...as much as I hate it..also I might get a lot of hate comments after that..But till this date Indian streets aren't safe for women...
Also here at India..a lots of men live with their parents even after getting married..with their wives...

Again I'm not complaining about parents worrying about children ..I just wished that our environment was bit more safer for women ...or people in general..that's all

    • @sergentculotte2147
      @sergentculotte2147 Před 5 lety

I think the safety reason is true in some countries, but in other's it's just a lack of trust on the daughter! I've never been to India, but i heard about how unsafe it is in the street. I wonder if it's the same in Korea?
Because the 'protect the daughter' idea often comes from a long lasting tradition of equating the woman's value with her 'purity' (having been with no men). And it still stays the same in some cultures now, despite the fact that it's almost never asked of men. So in this perspective, parents will forbid their daughters to go out even if they say they're gonna see friends, because -they might be seing a boyfriend, or doing, gasp, s e x- and it has nothing to do with safety as not all cities are dangerous. Uuurgh I'm happy i'm french, and was never imposed a curfew! At 21 I'm free to go wherever I please, and I really cherish that freedom
