Lots of conversation on this knife, when it premiered at SEMA, that was the consensus,.. going to spark a lot of conversation, and that part has come true. I always find it curious in social media how people grab onto something that he said / she said and then pass it on as fact. I see it in this channels comments fairly regularly also. Here's what I think I know, a lot of people saying what Todd Beggs says,. Todd Beggs has a platform, he, could easily clear this up in consise language, "stolen, infringement, lawsuit". So far, his comments appear to be second-hand and hover around, "Im not making a dime" all the while, HF is steadily marketing and selling the product out in the open. I'm not so quick to form an opinion, ill let it play out, besides, it is a pretty good little knife with a lifetime warranty and several local stores, but, I'm stupid, always doing things I shouldn't do, ever since I was a little kid, ask anybody.

This is also true for some CZcams reviewers, i.e.passing things on as fact 🤣😂

Collar is aluminum, as titanium does not anodize/come in red.

For some reason folks seem to want to vilify the Icon knife. First, let say I bought one. I’m extremely impressed with it. Second, I’m not a knife snob. I’ve never heard of Todd Beggs before this controversy started. I have no idea the price of the Todd Begg knife. I do suspect it’s considerably more expensive. For $40 my knife certainly does very thing I need it to do. Cheers?

Good looking knife, not sure if it's a ripoff of another design or just very heavily influenced by it, I do see some differences, and other reviews of this knife have mixed opinions. Not sure if I'd buy one. Good review and disassembly. I appreciate you. Thanks

Im getting a little suspicious of the, " we only have one left " thing, i was told the same thing when i purchased mine and ive heard the same coment from several buyers. Im not the type to buy the latest gimmick, just a blue collar working class and the Icon works just fine for me. If nothing else , maybe it will cause a little competition between knife makers to make a more affordable knife for everyday people. Icon is a winner for me. Thanks for the review.

The glass is half full, the glass is half empty. There is always different ways to look at issues. The one thing that I'll say that will come from the controversy on this knife is that it will elevate Todd Beggs name as a knife designer and generate more sales of his knives. He will also get sales directly off of this knife, from people that like the knife and decide that they'd like to get the real deal. He's going to make out like a bandit, just wait and see.

Not really side by side they are different knives. I have both. They share design elements but to claim a direct copy I would expect a direct clone. Which it is not

Not to answer for him, but it sounds like a fun game. Beside giving folks a look at the inner workings, I'd say this..
1. To clean out any excessive only and debris.
2. Check for machining issues.
3. Put back together and check for any alignment issues and or function issues.
4. Make to its running at its optimal action as to not give a bad review when it was just something that needed a slight adjustment.

Nearly 1 for 1 with the Todd Beggs steelcraft Mini Glimpse production, not to be confused with the Beggs mini glimpse, Brother's rip off company. That being said, it is amazingly well made, a $40 knife that feels like a $150 knife or more... easily.

It’s close, but better because of the price and not having as many holes and crevices for crap to accumulate in. Same materials as the Begg. Both made in China 🇨🇳 and probably the same factory.

That knife might not be a cheap gas station knife, but it is a stolen design from Todd Beggs. He's a great designer and even better maker and it's terrible that HF stole one of his designs. I wouldn't support that behavior and not buy that knife.
