    Cliff Divers in the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series free fall 27 meters over the course of 3 seconds, before entering the water at speeds upwards of 85kph. At that height and speed, the surface of the water hits back like concrete, and the athletes must enter perfectly vertical to withstand the force...or face severe injury and possibly the worst belly flop known to man.

I remember my first serious jump at Bull Shoals AK at about 60-70 ft. and the bottom of my feet stung, I had my ass only slightly bent out and I was red for a few days there. I feel for anyone who lands side ways flops. YEAH, its like a car crash (Not Mike Tyson) and not you are possibly passed out in the water. Great vid and advice.

    High deck at Penn state tower I know it was 50 feet ,15 meters as it was too long ago,a meter is close to a yard

  • @kellienicolebrooksschettin6598

    My dad always like to dive nothing fancy he just did good clean dives,but one summer we were in the sands hotel on the east coast of Florida and their was a ten foot real high dive board with the roller...better yet there was a real diver who I got to be friends with and learned from that was cool,so I became real comfortable with high dive boards,one time we were at Penn state visiting some friends at the pool,and they had their Olympic platform and my friend say something I did not even hear and I said stay here I go off...when I got to the top the view was amazing,I paused and did not dive I just stepped off making sure to stay straight and time my entrance so I would not hit bottom I kept my arms out to control my vertical position but forgot to bring them in my arms were okay but I was really impressed by the impact good thing I knew to stay straight it was a rush as u slow ur self by widening your limbs once u slow enough and then make that trip back to the surface like u said its a cool feeling just hitting the water that fast and being comfortable with it is the really neat part if diving and ur ears as the speed of the plunge goes by I really wish I had been able to practice it more but u don't start career diving on the top deck,as I was walking up I quickly erased the thought of first time up trying a dive,so feet first was still awsum.for divers the fun part is under the water getting slowed,that people don't see from above the water...I just did a time run to know my entrance knowing there was plenty of pool under me...it felt more like a Hollywood stunt going feet first...funny thing my friends had nothing to say they were not even thinking of joking about trying it me o could spend all day practicing i really want to dive,but was not going to show off,first time I just knew how to handle the entrance into the water and get stopped well before the bottom and really wanted to know how it felt dive from that high,or jump...the funny thing is how our body floats its natural buoyancy really kicks in quick u rock at the beginning as u do off ten foot high dive and ur body floats so that helps u slow then u spread and slow as your arms and legs strength will allow,it was fun,keep calm was a big key ,I was very fit at the time very fit and that made it easy and fun...sorry I can't remember the meters height for the top deck of the tower,sorry...THANKS

    They do exaggerate the landing way too much. I do cliff jumping myself and the impact isn't too bad.

      The Dank Panda don’t tell this guy about how his friends had the wrong mindset. He doesn’t need to hear it. His friends are dead. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t care about their mindset when they were cliff diving.

      The Dank Panda omg dude. Acknowledge what you just said to this man with dead friends my hell. just because you learned a couple useful pointers while cliff jumping your first big one doesn’t make you an expert at all, you’re probably in over your head if you have to praise yourself on a little bit of experience that much, that mindset is what gets people killed homie. Stay humble, I’m sure his friends were avid divers.

    • @bet2363
      @bet2363 Před 4 lety +1

      Yeah i haven't had a chanche to go that high but i have still dived from 14m head first and im pretty skinny. Its really more about the technique than strenght. But if you jump from +30m strength will start to play a bigger role.

    So nothing really about surviving a high dive. Nothing about your feet or hands or anything. Just a bunch of bullshit about mentally preparing yourself and core strength.

      There is not a lot more you can do. Just try to land feet first at 90 degrees and then you can only wish your body can take it.
