It’s very interesting (and not surprising) to read that. That is definitely the way she comes across in this video. I’m always doubly impressed when I find out that a performer I’ve admired so much hasn’t let all the success go to their head! True greatness in my humble opinion! ❤️❤️

I wrote to Bebe once when she was in Chicago and asked "what's the name of those slinky arms step?" She wrote back with an autographed headshot that said "Best wishes and snake arms"
I sure do LOVE Bebe Neuwirth, and now I love her even more, especially after she acknowledged lives lost to AIDS. I'm sure she has lots more stories to tell!
She is wonderful in Julia (2022 TV series). She's so modest about comedy, yet her comedy skills are outstanding. Kind of the truffle you know will make everything taste like a royal meal. -Frank

I could listen to her all day. As an alto who’s also a dancer, this woman has inspired me a lot. It fills my heart when I see people that have done theater for a long time sharing their stories. I am a sophomore in high school, and I have been doing theater for a long time. I’m auditioning for a local production of Chicago teen edition this summer and I’m aiming for Velma or Mama Morton, which are ironically both roles that she has played. I love her so much 😭
She is the only woman to date to have played all THREE leads (Velma, Mama, AND Roxie) in Chicago on the great white way!! This fellow alto agrees she's awesome!! Break a leg on your audition BTW!!

november 1996. I was at the balcony in the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Chicago just moving from City Center. The entire cast blow my mind. Since then, Chicago is absolutely my favorite! And what can I say about bebe...She is amazing!!

Yes, you definitely need to dig deeper. While Bebe was indeed brilliant as Dr. Lilith Sternin, her true home is the stage and she's a *supremely talented* dancer and singer.
I saw her as Velma Kelly in Chicago on Broadway and she was unforgettable. I also saw Dancin' but can't remember if she was in the company I saw. Bebe, the perfect Bob Fosse muse outside of wife Gwen and girlfriend Ann. Brava❣️

I had always thought of her as cold (no, I'm not thinking of her Lilith character) going back to the days of Damn Yankees. This video totally surprised me. I have also had three personal encounters with her and she was always reserved and never smiled or joked. A true professional, but not happy.
I realize that a piece like this is heavily edited for time and clarity, but I find it interesting that when Bebe discusses “The Addams Family” she doesn’t mention her costar Nathan Lane at all.
What an extraordinary conversation. In addition to seeing her in many Broadway productions, I saw her in the Bedwetter. Looking forward to Cabaret. I can only imagine how poignant the scenes will be with her and Steven Skybell.
She didn't understudy Chita she took over the role when Chita moved to Broadway and she closed the show within 6 weeks. I don't think she'll be talking that show.
