I Asked Marines What They Thought Of Other Branches

  • On the 247th birthday of the Marine Corps, one boot reservist Corporal decided to take his camera to the annual ball and have some fun :)
Hope you guys enjoyed the video, and nothing in this video was meant to be serious. This is all fun and games and we make fun of each other because we’ve earned the right. The more we pull on each other's strings, the tighter the bond between service members!
And besides, there’s no point in arguing over which branch is better or worse, because in the end at least we can all agree that we’re better than the coast guard 😂
Happy Birthday to all Marines out there, and Happy Veteran's day to all that have served and are serving!
My goal with these videos is to entertain, educate, and inform military members as well as people that are interested in joining or learning more about the military. If you want to stay up to date with future videos, please consider leaving a LIKE and SUBSCRIBE! :)

I am a retired Army Apache helicopter pilot. Some Marines were pinned down in an ambush in Afghanistan. I was coming off mission with minimum 30 mm and Hellfire missile ordnance. I had to attack the enemy at low level because of mountainous terrain. I was shot down. Those wonderful Marines left their cover, to provide us with fire support and assist in extracting myself and my gunner from the aircraft.

Used to see marines with no necks and raspy voices but honestly the group in this video looked lighter than the Air Force NCOs I seen on my last deployment. I couldn't take any of their opinions seriously regarding other branches as it appears none of them actually deployed in wartime environment working with the other branches. Once that happens, everybody respects one another.

He took a year off school after getting commissioned as an Army Reserve Officer. Later he applied to be a Flying Cadet. He made it thru the first course but the second (flight) course lasted halfway thru as he dropped out. He finished out his commission. Then about a decade later, due to a reduction of pay in his civilian career, he became a Marine Reservist, and was involved with the intelligence community. Happy Birthday to all of the former, present, and future Marines. I retired from the Air Force in 1995 as a Boom Operator having flown on KC-135’s and KC-10’s. I had two memorable experiences with the Marines while on active duty and after I retired. While on active duty, we had to do a fighter drag with 5 KC-135’s bringing 15 Marine F-4’s and their C-130 support plane from Guam back to Hawaii with a week layover on Wake Island. That was an adventure in that the poor island didn’t have enough beer and alcohol to sustain us the first day there. They ended up bringing alcohol from Hawaii to keep us entertained the whole week. Needless to say, the Marines generously entreated the Boom Operators during the entire week knowing that we had to get them across the ocean to Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, which is now called Marine Corps Base Hawaii. I’ve refueled F-4’s, F-14’s, and F-18’s over the years, and they were always thankful for that Tanker being on station.
After I retired, my coworker and I had to pleasure of teaching Marines Network Administration for MARFORRES. The standing joke on day one was ‘what can a Navy sub rider and a retired Air Force Boom Operator teach Marine Corp personnel?’, and our reply was, ‘you tell us in two weeks’. During those two weeks, we taught them everything that they would ever need to know about computer network administration, to include being ready for their certification, and they learned to have respect for the other branches of the military. So yes, all branches of the military can work together.
It was an honor to work with the other branches of the military, (the Navy at Diego Garcia, the Marines Corps at Camp Pendleton, Miramar, and Iwakuni, and the Army in the country of Oman), during the 21 years that I served in the Air Force. Every branch deserves recognition and respect, and only those who have served can join in the cross-service banter that we do. For those thinking about joining, any branch that you serve in, do it proudly and with respect, as they all will make you a better person. Having served during Vietnam and Desert Shield/Storm, I’d do it all again if I had to. Very nice video!

PJs are no joke, old marines might know this but hard to say the younger marines would. In my experience, a marine isn't a marine until they got a solid combat deployment under their belt; until then, any opinions coming out of their mouths is just hot air. The marines (or any branch) that sees combat smile less and don't chat it up with people they don't know as often.

I’m currently doing paperwork to go in the Navy in a few months from now. I took a shot at it back in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, and it broke me so I quit and I was separated (discharged).
Not really sure what I’m going to do, probably something mechanical or aircraft related, but right now I’ve been thinking about it long enough and have decided to just execute it and do it.
And despite what I’ve heard with the military crumbling right now and everything going to shit, I still think it’ll be if it me more than wandering aimlessly through life on the civilian side, at least right now.

Doing the same thing sorta that i did when i was in except without the M4. Ready mix driver. My advice to people is join whatever branch. You want. I would say the Navy and Air Force have better technical training and schooling. The Marine corps and Army would be more challenging physically. Explore all the available jobs in depth and find one that you would love. Once your locked in its not very easy to cross rate or change jobs .
