      It can when the ship is rocking, but most of the time it feels normal.

      It's also interesting to see they're actually "traveling" from one place to another.

    These are beautiful newer kone elevators. I like the fixtures that are square. We all love 💕 unusual things but in my opinion the older kone 220 is my favorite and I like that better. But I have a lot of love for older elevators better but it’s still important to have a safe and fun ride

      Yes I agree. But they do run smooth and easy

    I love the square buttons of the forward elevators as well!! That is so unique!! And they seemed to be touch sensitive as well, no? I think the reason for the different sides of 4 being on different controllers is the layout. Even though it’s still not ideal, doing it that way makes sure you can get to the deck you need other than deck 19, but that one didn’t have any staterooms on it so it’s not as big of a deal. When I was on my last cruise the bottom deck was also locked except during active excursions. I love how the displays in the elevator tell you that, though! I’m so glad that you, Zack, and Jason had such a great time on your cruise, Andrew!

      Just typical Kone except for a boat. The square buttons are not common. This boat is VERY under elevatored.

    These are interesting for cruise ship elevators. At least there not generic ones. Pretty cool for a kone on a ship!

    • @DieselDucy
      @DieselDucy  Před 21 dnem

      Kone pretty much has a monopoly on boat elevators.

      @@DieselDucy Yeah. Some main hotels in the US like hampton inn and so are turning to the cheap kone mrl elevators

    Always love KONE marine elevators, they never disappoint. And yeah the layout and setup is quite confusing and inefficient; a KONE Destination would've been much better. Good thing the ship where I work at has a simple and straightforward layout and all of its passenger elevators serve all decks. There are only 10 passenger elevators and all of them goes from deck 2 to 15. They aren't destination dispatch and from my observation they run quite efficient.

      Encore was great except for 2 things. The elevator and the dining area. Had to fight to find a table every time.

    5:20 I would have to disagree. When I went on the carnival horizon everyone was pissed off about destination dispatch. people we're saying "its stupid that i have to ride this specific elevator" they were saying "I didn't know you needed a bachelors to work the elevator" hell you went to a comedy show and when the comedian says "how's your cruise" first thing I heard was "THE ELEVATORS SUCK" everything aside, i love your channel

    • @DieselDucy
      @DieselDucy  Před 20 dny +1

      DD is far more efficient. Most people though, find it cumbersome when in reality it saves alot of time.

    • @idl3k_elev
      @idl3k_elev Před 18 dny +1

      People complain so much about destination dispatch because they simply DON'T KNOW how to use it despite it's so easy and most building owners have placed a simple sign on how to use it. I really don't understand with that kind of people. It's not that hard to use DD.

    A cruise ship that I went on (called the MSC Seascape) has Schindler PORTS. However, there are at least 21 elevators on the ship (2 of the ones I saw are service elevators that are not PORTS. Another set of 2, the Panoramic elevators, or cars A1 and A2, are in the back of the ship and serve decks 8-18. The front cars have one scenic elevator on each side (even and odd), and they serve decks 4-19, while the middle cars have no scenic elevator and only go up to deck 18. Those 4 sets are labeled as A-D. The last car that I know of is "Car I", and it is reserved for members of the Yacht club. I'm not sure if that one is a port, but all I know is that is serves the 4 highest decks, 16-20.) The ship doesn't have a deck 17 since the founder of the ship is Italian, and "17" is considered unlucky in Italy.

    Nice custom Kones, like them a lot.
    Funny to see Drucegrove Digitalker (SPC205?) lift speech units fitted again, these are usually common for custom floor announcements.
