- (June 2024) Vintage DigiCams are certainly starting to make a comeback and for a valid reason. They are just FUN and the fact that you are not "connected" it is actually about the moment rather than sharing on social media. Enjoy as we take out the Sony Cybershot DSC-TX10 which I got in 2011 and used as the primary camera on this channel back then. We go on a little adventure that takes us to the Hotel Roanoke to see the new elevators there!

Please do more like this. I love these types of throwback camera videos. Maybe you can include more elevators and food reviews, and Vlogs and reviews of different vintage cameras as well.

The modernization for the Hotel Roanoke elevators came out quite nice! The cabs are still ornate. I bet you are happy to see CJ Anderson buttons in your area. Seeing it with the Otis voice is neat too.
The TX10 is so nostalgic. I don't know if it's just my imagination, but I felt like when the TX10 was towards the end of its primary time of your channel (Late 2014) the video quality went down. However, when you did this video, the quality seems closer to when you first starting filming with it. Nice to see it again!
I know right? Granted at this point in my life youtube is kind of like a job to me but I still have fun with it! Bringing out this TX10 I don't know why but almost brought out some of my old video style. I honestly want to do more videos like the one posted above.
The camera quality looks so nostalgic, it resembles your older videos I used to watch when I was a kid.

So glad to see that the side elevator is being modernized rather than being decommissioned! At least that means we’ll get to ride it again. Hopefully I can pay another visit someday.

I am more of an “old-school” guy that films with a Handycam 😂 I wanna see more videos with the older cameras before phones got better in video quality!

I got a 90s Olympus camera used untested from a thrift stare for 5 bucks and it worked great!

Impressive elevator videos, and I really fell in love with the modernized elevators at the Hotel Roanoke, especially with the CJ Anderson Architectural Historic Style-2 fixtures. It would have been cool if the Menger and Crockett Hotels and the Hemisfair Tower in San Antonio and the Driskill Hotel, UT Tower, and Texas State Capitol in Austin used these awesome CJ Anderson fixtures. By the way, I still film with the traditional style cameras, in particular the Canon Power-Shot series. Most of the time I use 1080-HD, but sometimes I use 480p for that nostalgic effect. Also, did you hear that many people in their 20s through 40s are ditching their smartphones in favor of simpler, traditional-style flip or slide type phones like the original cell phones of the 2000s? Maybe there will be a nostalgic revolution with the departure of all the newfangled technology in favor of the older style technology that is actually easier to use, is easier to repair, and is more reliable.
Yep! Especially Gen Z. They are going back to stand alone cameras such as this one and flip phones. I can fully see the appeal of it as well.

Digicams are also more fun because they don’t eat into your phone’s storage, just pop in a new SD card and you’re good to go. Plus, the audio quality is far better than any iPhone.
I totally agree! While I can get add on mics for the iPhone, the video from the phone, well still looks like it was shot on a camera phone.

For starters, I now shoot my videos using my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX99 or my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
But the TX10 sure brings back nostalgia!

Still clear for the 2000s because it's HD
I’m surprised the center in the square garage dover is still there. Parking garage elevators usually don’t last as long. That is a testament to dover quality.

Man I wish I had my Panasonic LUMIX DMC TZ20 still, or can get hold of a working one. Mine was degrading over time henche I had only it around 2011-2013. I still have my Panasonic HC-V720 and HC-VFX990 as well as still using my Rodemics since 2014... But I went absolutely bananas with my Lumix camera before I could afford to upgrade as it literally was about to break on me...
Lumix are great cameras. I have a TS5 point n shoot. great photos but audio so muffled.

At least the cab is still original at the hotel Roanoke which is great and we got some Schindler elevator adventure too that I love and a ride on the elm wood parking garage elevator as well. I really love love this video you send and that’s one of my favorite video of the day you posted but little disappointed on hotel Roanoke that they had to modernized their elevators
The cab was actually tastefuly redone. Complete with the hotel's logo.
No more beautiful vintage ceiling on the elevators of hotel Roanoke which is disappointing

I usually don’t like mods, but that walkway elevator HAS to be replaced. It always breaks down and when it’s working it is in bad shape.
