- 24 week pregnancy update is here, where I talk about lots of positives - feeling great, exercise, nutrition, booking visit with my home birth midwife. And a few negatives - heartburn, dealing with the heat, constipation and achy hips.
About me:
Hi I’m Fiona! I am from Ireland, living in the heart of the Irish countryside with my husband, 3 children, dog, cat and 4 hens :-) I started this channel over 4 years ago as a way to document our family life and share tips about yoga, birth, breastfeeding and mothering. I have three children, all born at home, I breastfed/am breastfeeding and I practice many other elements of attachment parenting too. My third baby was born under a tree in our back garden - a most amazing garden birth - check out the birth video!! I love summers in Ireland! I am from Germany originally and heat means more like 37 degrees or more over there. So hot weather in Ireland is really perfect warm summer weather for me. 🙈👍
Oh and one question. Do you have any idea if there is an age limit for home births through HSE? This year with 33 years it wasn’t an issue for me but I think in Germany being 34 years or older would be considered a risk.
Haha! Yes, compared to other countries it really isn’t that hot here!
Once you are over 40 you have to get signed off by a consultant to have a home birth under the HSE, as long as you fulfil all the other low risk requirements.
