  • We have been home schooling for over a year now, so in this video I deep dive into how we came to this decision - discussing my background in Education (I am a qualified secondary school teacher in Irish, French and Spanish), where I first heard about home education and some of the reasons that helped us to make the decision to home educate our children.
    About me:
Hi I’m Fiona! I am from Ireland, living in the heart of the Irish countryside with my husband, 3 children, dog, cat and 4 hens :-) I started this channel over 3 years ago as a way to document our family life and share tips about yoga, birth, breastfeeding and mothering. I have three children, all born at home, I breastfed/am breastfeeding and I practice many other elements of attachment parenting too. My third baby was born under a tree in our back garden - a most amazing garden birth - check out the birth video!! I am a yoga teacher specialising in Pregnancy and Birth and a breastfeeding support volunteer so many of my videos will cover these topics. Hit the subscribe button to never miss a video :)

Thanks so much Free Spirit. I do think more and more are turning to homeschooling in Ireland. The reading is just one example, there are so many more. Thanks for the book recommendation, I’ll look that up. Am currently devouring Peter Grey. Love John Holt too. There’s so much to learn, mostly from my kids 😅

Wow this is so interesting. In order to practice homeschooling, do you follow Montessori method? Por cierto, yo soy española, no sabia que habias vivido en Argentina 🙂. And another question.. do homeschool children need to do a final year exam? Thank you so much, I enjoy your content tremendously

Si, viví en Argentina por 3 años, fue increible, me encantó! 🥰 In Ireland parents are left to decide everything - curriculum, tests (if they want to do them) it’s very open and free. You can follow whatever method of schooling you choose or unschool! 💕 I’ve another general video on homeschooling in Ireland, we have some of the most relaxed laws on it because it’s enshrined in our constitution.
