That has to be the cleanest KC-135 cockpit I have ever seen omg
Yeah. The KC-135 looked fresh everywhere. Must have been in for a thorough something.
@@Vermiliontea They knew they were gonna be filmin that day lmao!!!!
I live near Niagara Falls and saw some of this happen. the 914th flies over my house on approach to NF
Preflight=Block 45, takeoff, AR and land=Block 40
Is this the KC-135 showing the KC-46 how it works?.
Yeah, here we observe a mother KC-135 teaching the teenage KC-46 before it goes off into the real world.
It is so amazing to see a tanker refuel a tanker
So weird to me seeing a ‘767’ being refueled in midair
That was superb !!!
I noticed the flight deck instrument panel change too..I. Was like what th ...
Block 45 vs Block 40. My guess is last minute tail swap, editor didn't notice the continuity break.
From a block 45 to a block 30 in 2 seconds jjee
I guess they just got the ground tour
yeah noticed that. stepped to a spare maybe?
No block 30's left in inventory.
Full bird in the driver seat (does this happen often?). how soon after take-off do they come out of military power after takeoff? Does the boom operator on the KC-135 still rest his chin on the pad?
probably the Wing/Vice Wing/Group Commander getting his stick time, and yes the boom still rests their chin on the pad
Fffhf. FYI.
full bird?
How much fuel is burned hauling 200,000 (is it lbs. or gals.?) to altitude and loitering on the 'race track?'
Doc Will About 10,000 lbs an hour roughly.
@@patrickcolvin3796 So, 1500 gal/hr. to haul 30K gals.
How much fuel might a receiver have left when he gets to the nozzle? Has anybody ever flamed-out before getting hooked-,up?
Can you recommend references for these nit-picky details?

I probably worked on that KC-46....
Mid-Air Refuel Inception
The boomer running his mouth too much. Like why don’t you try to fly a plane up to boom since you’re the real genius.
Having to fly with a colonel in the left seat. I would be very intimidated!
It's really treated as a crew airplane and rank should not got in the way
Rank doesn’t matter in the cockpit. Everyone in the aircrew, including enlisted, gets treated equal. Having to worry about rank interferes with the safe operation of an aircraft.
Well, at least the KC-46 can “receive” fuel. Lol Also, unorthodox takeoff thrust lever handling by the Colonel. That poor Captain having to watch out for him so he doesn’t screw something up. Ah, the Reserves
From what I saw and what we do is pilot flying sets throttles then copilot fine tunes the throttles for takeoff power setting. That's what the copilot was doing was fine tuning them. Then he guards the throttles as the jet accelerates. FYI
Matthew Miller Typically PIC holds thrust levers till V1, then removes both hands to the yoke. I’m this case, that didn’t happen.
I was gonna say, a Full Bird with a haircut like that, this has to be Guard or Reserves.
Patrick Colvin I saw that too, reservist all the way. Weekend wonder
@@buckbuchanan5849 it's not procedure for us to do that in our airframe. Some have two hands on the yoke sometimes with a strong crosswind others one and one. We're ready to abort prior to S1 but in this case the copilot is guarding the throttles so they don't slide back. Also ready to point out a condition to abort. ACs decision and the crew points out any abnormalities
The KC135 and KC10 could probably outlast the KC46.
