Check out my new gear. KLH model 3 speakers - Cambridge Audio AXR100 Receiver - Bluesound Node. All gear from Crutchfield. I'm just an old many buying cheap audio gear.
Thank you AWD! I have these speakers connected to an Arcam SA20 (Tidal streamed through a Wiim Pro) and they are awesome. They need some burn in time; the bass will be night-and-day better after a few weeks. Terrific speakers!

I think you have picked a good value for money setup. + The Bluesound has a better in build DAC compared to the Wiim.
Eh, I think you miss the point Ruben. It isn't a matter of the DAC is better, because AWB didn't need a DAC at all. He has just bought a brand new Cambridge Audio DAC.
What he was needing was a streamer, not a DAC. The WIIM Mini is arguably a better streamer because of it's better UI & native AirPlay and AirPlay 2 in lossless (depending on Ios).
The WIIM is $79 on Crutchfield compared to the BlueSound Node at $449. Meaning he could have put an extra $370 towards KLH 5's or whatever.
Alternatively, AWB is only using the Cambridge as a power amp. He doesn't need all that extra stuff. He could dump the Cambridge for the Fosi V3 power amplifier selling also for $79. An equally competent amp btw.

Please keep us up to date on how these items are doing (for you) as time goes on. Most reviewers just review and then the equipment is never mentioned again because the reviewer just returns it and has no skin in the game. One notable exception is the Audiophilliac who keeps his viewers abreast of his current system(s) from time to time. Another is Steve Huff. Thanks for being here.

I think we're around the same age and let me say there is a TON of great music out there, which is the best part after all. Just let those streaming algorithms work.

WiiM SW is really great. I have the Mini but output to a separate DAC. Those KLH look great
Amazon Music and Tidal are both great for streaming from my experience for good sound...
Ive experience with the Cambridge Axa25 and Cxa81 which are both great, I assume the axr100 is just as nice.
Cool idea for the console setup, will change up the style/vibe like going from a metal to leather watch strap.
I'm sorry to point this out too...................
But besides buying 2 DACs, with the Cambridge & Bluesound combo, there was also purchased 2 Pre-Amps and 2 Headphone Amps. That's doubling up three components in a two piece system.
Best advice for noobs? Know & understand the Signal Chain so as not to buy unnecessary gear etc. & saves money with a better result.

. So this combo was $449 & $599 = $1048 budget. One way of many could have been Wiim Mini Streamer $79, into SMSL SU1 32-bit DAC $79, into Schiit Saga S PreAmp $299, into IOTA VX PA3 Power Amp/MonoBlock $434
That's $157 under budget or go over budget by a mere $145 & add the second PA3 MonoBlock for what would be a truly kick-ass little system that can grow.

. Well, it's addicting & just food for a hobbyist's day-dreaming. I can't help but have already worked out an upgrade path with the new existing components. That's of course assuming a desire to spread tentacles into the audio world with what is really an unobtainable goal, but the ride is a whole lot of satisfying sound & gear to us afflicted.

Along with an Onkyo tx nr6050 receiver and Technics turntable.

Sounds great to me. I plan on getting a pair of the Model 3's possibly yet this year. You mentioned resisting the urge for a turntable. I get it. I have a modern one, but admit I don't use it very often. I do play cd's a lot. Didn't see a cd player in your setup. Anyway, enjoy!
Well, I lucked into a set of Klipsch Forte II speakers. Now I am looking to sell the KLH model 3 speakers. I bought a turntable and a Marantz CD player, fortunately I did keep my old Cd's.

KLH 5 is better for a larger room cos it will give you a sense spaciousness in the sound reproduction, also it gives you extra BASS if you like bass. KLH 3 is little expensive for what it can offer you.
I thought about switching them for the model 5. Just can't afford it right now. Always next year maybe. I am using an 8 inch Jamo sub with them now, it really helps.

If your streaming through airplay 2 it should be lossless for Apple Music.

The Cambridge audio rocks great choice the KLH speakers are good your streamer you got ripped off you should have got the whim stream are you would have saved $400 Amazon music sucks should switch to Quboz,

Just get a turntable, dont think too hard about it. Unfortunately choosing one these days is a bit tricky. Stay away from Project as they are cursed with motor hum.
